  1. He uses EFI live and knows his shit. dyno is a tool, it can help but a good tuner will be good on the street. I like to think the street tuning gives you better drive-ability b/c you are tuning in the exact conditions. I would get your handheld unlocked and then you could use it too run two tunes, but I bet if you had a good tune in it you would just rock it till you want more power or break some junk
  2. I would guess the lifters are beat. the rockers are putting more pressure/leverage on them so I could see them losing pressure at higher rpm's. does it tick after starting it up after sitting for a few days???
  3. converter and build the trans...keep saving and buy a radix/procharger(psc-1) and tuning will be a must. and as others mentioned becareful, it can become a money pit
  4. man I was wrong the rare parts are $270 each! ouch. I am goning back to use moods and maybe some sleeves?? I am surprized no one has more info on these parts...none here, pt.net is little and the web is kind of a wash...execpt everyone knows that they wear fast
  5. Have you seen those inner/ outer combos? They are like$180, ouch. Ratherr than the moog stuff? I think my ten year old tires are done
  6. welcome, sorry you could not find black, red is a good color too
  7. and the LS has a dry intake so you do not have to drain any fluids...Let us know how it turns out....in a new post this was an old post.
  8. its in the tune. I bet your timing is not blended in the transition areas and when you drop out of steady speed it does not know what value to use. I dont have EFI so I cant look at your logs/tune but someone might be able to compaire tunes and let you know how much work was put into it. I would also guess it needs more air, in HPT its base running air flow
  9. congrats. twins are alot of work...get some sleep and help the wife best you can
  10. just got an iphone and love it...I am not as tied to my computer and I dont ever have to check my email...its too easy anyone have good apps? I have pocket dyno Logworks from innovative any other good car ones??
  11. Those look like the cheaper 1pc rotors imo
  12. Got the correct tool and it was off in like one try
  13. thanks chase. going to pick up compact puller thats recommended for GM trucks....gotta give it one more shot before I cut it off with a wheel. I worked on it for two days...and I am feeling it in my back so I have to call in reinforcements to get this done!
  14. bump...still no budge. gonna get better puller tool, hopefully today and see if I can get this off without cutting it...anyone know the part number for the seal at the bottom of the steering box?? is this a dealer part?? I would hope not seems like there are too many of these boxes floating around to not offer the seal at the local parts store.
  15. Got it up and almost apart. Any tips to get the pitman arm off? I have a cheap puller, but it has some pressure on the arm, i have hit it with map gas and even put the oxy-acly on it and its not budgeing. Dont wamt to cut it off but it seems like that is the only way this is coming off. I will post my tips when i get it done. Great way to kill a weekend, and its snowing.
  16. You still need an xlink to run the larger TB. My vote is heads and an oe intake.
  17. Welcome another guy from mi! Any way to find the old owner?? Then i would ask dynonshop if they remember or can put you intouch with someone who knows. Where in mi are you? I could pull the tune amd compaor it to anstock file...how does it run A guy down here bought an old members truck and when he found out whos truck it is we found all the build info, takes some thought to do head cam swap.
  18. it is going to be warmer this week and I might just do the pitman arm and stablizer and leave the tir rods alone, unless they are lose as hookers... I am going to track down the pitman arm puller ASAP
  19. gonna put it up on jack stands and see if I can isolate it to a sinlge side/part but know it will be best to replace them all.
  20. So my truck has a good wobble in the wheel. I know my tires are old but think this could be tie rods or the pitman arm. How would you tackle this? I dont want to buy all new stuff if I dont have too, tires are spendy. Should I just do the pitmans or screw it and do it all?? Any tips or advise, its cold and I dont want to waste time. And after I get this done I am getting new tires and an alignment, any suggestions on good all-season tires? anyother parts on this list that could get up graded? tie rod sleeves? I was reading this stuff goes bad on the big tire crowd...so I just might bit the bullet and get all new moog parts damn this stuff is expensive. thanks for your advise and tips -joe
  21. I was following the drag pack camaro and it has a 5.3 with a TVS on it and went 9's I know the 5.3 must be special or they dont want to go all out and 6.2 it up and max out the 2300 because it will be faster than a vette and close to the ZR1 I wish I was around for the COPO days and could have piced out what exactly I want!!! AWD Reg cab 6.2L factory supercharged, vette brakes, recaro's from the Caddy's....
  22. maybe a wheel bearing...but those would be balls, so I am stumped but want to see if anyone else knows...
  23. I hear there is a good tuner in your parts...
  24. the truck was amazing before, this is just extreme! I am sorry for not calling Ray, you are on my list can you post some pics of the 1953 ??
  25. Man, I am sorry I missed this outing, but I should be cool to go if you do go back to Lapeer this weekedn if the weather permits. I had a thing at the kids school last sat @ 4:30 so it would have been too tight to make it back in time. RiceEater got .4 using some smaller wheels (wonder if he still has them for you to use ) With these heavy arse trucks its like .05 for every 100lbs...I saw no gain in dropping my gate/spare, now if you did gate, spare, jack, passenger seat...then you might get a worthy gain but you are not that guy, you like to run it as you drive it! I agree.
