  1. But hey, now your transmission is finished! Done, done, and done. Now its time to pop the hood!
  2. I am a LSU fan, I know one thing is for sure, SEC has been for years now and will continue to be the best conference. I am not making a bias statement though, it is just simple statistics. The recruiting in the South is dominant, and the best high schoolers in the nation want to play there. A career in the NFL is highly dependant on exposure in the NCAA, these guys go where they will be seen. This is not to say that there arent other teams in other conferences that have a legacy strong enough to create exposure for their student athletes, but there talents are soon overshadowed by extremely weak strengths of schedules. NFL recruiters are quick to point out the lack of competition that some of the standouts from these historic schools are playing. The kids arent focused on playing for their favorite team like they used to. It is all about the money and they go where they can be seen and where they will be noticed for their talent against other talented teams. Say what you want about Saban, and as a Tigers fan, I have plenty to say about him myself, but the man knows football, recruiting, and assembling a stellar coaching staff like no other in NCAA. The issue boils down to the fact that the SEC is dominant because the majority of the teams in it are dominant. The spread, the hurry up, and other fast paced east coast style offenses are great but the SEC is about smash mouth football, a deep bench with constant rotation, and big fast strong defenses. We consistently have top drafted secondary players, defensive ends and linebackers. LSU has been known for having three or four and at some points five exceptional runningbacks that all see the field damn near equally. They have even ran two qbs before. Conditioning is not an issue, we play a tried and true style and do not waver from that. The SEC is not constantly trying to reinvent the wheel like east coast teams do. The SEC has had a stroke of fortune that other conferences havent had in a long time, the nentire conference, save a few teams, has the complete attention of high school America. Untill another conference can produce more than one or two good teams, the SEC will remain at the top. We play each other, so our SoS is tougher, we repeatedly beat the standouts from other conferences, except for this year when we played a team, like stated above, that is modeled after Alabama. Maybe the best advice for the east coast is to quit focusing on passing for 800 yards on teams that barely deseve to be a D1 team and start conditioning your players for smashmouth football, start scheduling more Sec teams to build rep and talent, and put more money back into the conference and well rounded coaching staffs. The SEC seems to be more well rounded and not focused on having one or two key players.
  3. It is a 1990 rx7, turbo II originally, but now has a forged LT4 383, PP intake and heads, 250 hp tb nitrous plate and system that hasnt been used, built T56, Pettit racing track pro coilovers, 4.10 gears, jessel rckers, ferrera stainless valves, comp 292xfi and springs and chain, splayed billet main caps, eagle crank, hooker headers, magnaflow x and duals, simpson harnesses, 60# injectors w/ Aeromotive 800hp fuel pump, meizer electric water pump, 140 amp alt, spec stage 3 clutch, poly bushings, big brakes welded 6pt rollcage. Lots of other stuff, but basically a rolling road racer with about 3k miles on the entire build. I talked to the guy, said he was cashing out to pay bills, relying on a facebook page, for sale sign and local craigslist to try and sell it. Its a hell of a deal for everything he put into it. A/c isnt charged or wired up and the fuel and speedo gauges arent working (speedo for obvious reasons) but other than that and a little bit of fiberglass work its a local jewel that we dont see around here that often.
  4. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cajunswapshop/permalink/831505736866669/ Uhhh.....only wants 12k? Something seems off about this
  5. My stock ac delco started going out on me about two months ago and I talked to my tuner about it. He gets really good deals on commercial grade batteries from the parts store he gets all his supplies from. They sell them to him for 35 $ after they have sat on the shelf for more than 18 months. I got a duralast proffesional series battery from him. It had been sitting for 20 months. They dont put them in the battery section, they keep them in the back. I put it in the truck and it fired off instantly. Really happy with it. Sometimes I go two or three weeks without driving the truck and without a tender and it fires up perfectly. Check into them at the parts store, supposed to last a long time. The one I got had 650cca, a little less than the stocker, 850 amps@32°, but the reserve capacity was 95, which was significantly higher than the stocker. Not saying its the best by any means but one hell of a deal on a commercial grade battery
  6. Lol...it is crazy how nonmagnetic money is
  7. The majority of the gmt 800 escalades had 6.0 motors, the 900 platform have 6.2 motors
  8. Yep...if that doesnt work then you may have an issue with your brake booster
  9. Im sorry man..I was getting confused on who was asking...no iac on drive by wire, you are correct. Stalling could be in tune, brakes could be an issue with the booster itself, or possibly a crack in the connection to the intake manifold. Most likely a vacuum leak. Think you can have a vacuum test done with smoke to check for leaks. There may be an issue with the tps sensor not working the throttle plate correctly or possibly in the tune if tps tables were adjusted improperly, maybe the throttle body isnt closing enough when letting off gas and vacuum is leaking when hiting the brakes. There are a lot of things it could be. A good place to start would be pulling the throttle body and using tb cleaner and a toothbrush to clean it. May run a little rough for a little while afterwards while it is relearning. Give it a shot, and then start chasing vacuum issues.
  10. Technically an iac being stuck in an open position when pulling off the throttle and immediately to the brakes could be a source of a vacuum leak at least for a short time. I dont know that it could be so much of a leak that the brake booster could lose enough vacuum, but even a small leak can screw things up...i would definately say that it is well worth it to check your booster hose for cracks or if it seems brittle, but it could be either one. Dont want to send you on any wild goose chases, would rather give you a few simple things to check...the iac can and should be cleaned, especially if you notice any surges or stalling, but a vacuum leak should also be looked into on your booster line.
  11. Here is some useful info I dug up on Google for those that wonder how it all works http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/215
  12. Computer controls it, cable driven has a plunger style tps.
  13. My buddy Ash, a member on here, just bought a 05 Escalade with 110k for 12. Of course it has the 5.3 in it but it is really nice.
  14. Saw this on my friends truck...it would stall when he would cut the a/c on and surge at 55 if you cut it on. Couldnt find a vacuum leak in it, changed the plugs...didnt change. Swapped the iac from his old throttle body into his fast 90mm throttle body, pulled the iac out and confirmed it was working by plugging it in and turning the key to on and then off and verified it was extending and retracting, but it was sticking slightly so used throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to get gunk off of it and cleaned out the hole that it sits in. Problem went away. Pretty sure it was the idle air controller. Clean it up, if it still has issues have it checked or just replace it.
  15. Good call on the 80e....my buddy has a rcsb with a 6.0/80e combo. That thing drives and rides great even with a MS3 cam and 3800 triple disc stall. And it has no problem putting the power down...it will light them up from 35 all the way untill it grabs at about 75 or 80. I couldnt believe how tame the truck was when just driving it normally. For something as loud and powerful as it is you wouldnt think it would be very street friendly. I think you will be happy with it bud. Make sure you get it buttoned up well and start pouring the power to it.
  16. The lady said she was sorry but she would do it again if she had to lol....southern belles lol
  17. Anyone see that chick that went full retard at the alabama game? Guess she was pissed about alabama losing and her drunk ass got in an argument with some dude from Oklahoma...she stage dove over a bunch of guys to drop a hard right cross on the guy then commensed to kickin the piss out of him....it was AWESOME lol http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24396659/video-alabama-fan-attacks-oklahoma-fan
  18. I agree...doesnt make sense to throw people to the wolves for getting upset over something....
  19. This sucks, i thought The reason for the site was for the knowledgable to share with the less knowledgable and for friends to socialize on a common ground.
  20. Funny thing is brian ryan and danny were the first ones to help me out....none of them have been anything more than welcoming, friendly, and helpful with any question no matter how small...this is stupid
  21. I have had two deleted in the past week. And the messed up aspect of it is that I was not harrasing or anything, I was just trying to point out a blatant issue with a couple of "brilliant" ideas given to someone seeking advice. The reason was that it would incite a rebuttal. I think it is imperative that we should stick up for each other, that is what builds trust in the members here. If someone feeds you a line of crap about spraying and installing high stall tc's your tow rig, everyone including the admins and moderators should be jumping their ass. Instead, a post I spent twenty minutes writing to make sure I worded it in a forum friendly manner gets deleted. The only reason I stayed and have participated on a site for trucks that had a three year run is because I was immediately befriended by several of the folks here and have been given a lot of sound "nondumbass" direction. I think you should get your ass handed to you if you try to steer someone who may not know better in a direction that could cost the person a lot of money and possible catastrophic failure to their pride and joy. Oh well....
  22. Check out that link above...great deal on a maggie that would be perfect for you and still leave some money to buy random things as well
