  1. There are a few sss roaming around here. I have a Vmax so i Just think of it as a 4 door ss, without the awd of course. The hot thing here is single cabs with 6.0 swaps, but i am only a few hours from houston so it is only natural that rcsb's have found there way in my neck of the woods. Thank you, this is a great site!
  2. Hey gcosse. Nice to see a fellow cajun on here. Looks like you are from the other side of the state. I am from Sulphur, just outside of Lake Charles.
  3. I have the crew cab lt3 2006 vmax. 3.73 G80 10 bolt hybrid axle. Torsion front end, like The Dude said it sits much higher. Sunroof and the ride control with the selectable dampening shocks. If you change shocks you do lose the feature and it will throw a code. I stll have mine but my tuner said he could delete the code when i change shocks. Also the complete set of shocks for our trucks are like a grand to replace.
  4. Calipers are relatively cheap on my V Max. I think i saw them for 30 something dollars at one auto store. Really is a straight forward job replacing pads calipers and rotors. Not sure about the price of rotors, last pads i bought were the ceramics at oreilleys and they were a little pricey, stop my crew cab pretty well but squeak like nobodys business when they are cold
  5. Man i had the same issue. I changed the a/c tensioner and a/c belt and no more squeaks.
  6. I put the ceramic pads from OReillys up front and havent had any dust issues...they stop great but squeak ike crazy when they are cold...sounds like a schoolbus lol
  7. I bought the most expensive pads at O'reillys. They are ceramic and dust isnt bad but I sound like a school bus during low speed braking.. they drive me crazy. put them on at 83k miles and the factory pads were perfectly fine.
  8. Thanks bad ass..rather do drolpleaves than deal with the pita hangers. I dont tow anything anyways.
  9. Yea I have drop shackles, I put them in but iirc I believ they only had one hole but I mighr be mistaken...so I could get a 2/4 drop safely without losing my ride this way?
  10. Is this what you are talking about? Would I have to chop the bump stop down ? This block is like 2" wouldI be able to match the front by just cranking on the torsion bars. That seems like a lot of drop via torsion bars. I have heard that dropping Iit with the torsions isnt very good..
  11. So where are the lift blocks at and is it hard to remove them?
  12. I want to, trust me. Sorry I didnt put pictures I do everything internet related either on my phone or ipad and all my picture options are too large to upload on here and I am clueless as to how to make them smaller without emailing them to myself and then resaving them to use on here.
  13. I love my truck. It has everything I want, but it sits so freaking high. Why? Today I traded my 24s to a guy who happened to have the same dealer option split six 20s I bought the truck with (strange coincidence). I traded back down to 20s for the ride quality, but mainly because it just didnt look right lol. I had 305 35 20s on it and it didnt come close to filling the wheel well. He put them on his 05 1/2 ton crew and they looked great, fender was only a couple inches over the tire. Why does his sit so much lower, all he has is drop shackles to level. I put 2" drop shackles on it about a year ago to level it but mine still looks tall. Help lol Edit***305-35-24, not 20 lol
  14. Hello all, new member but not new to the site. I have been reading from these forums since I bought my 2006 cc Vortec Max 2wd a year and a half ago. Figured I should join up. Looking forward to discussing the awesomeness that is the LQ9 with all of yall!
