  1. Goto EBay a place called SAE Auto is selling a bunch....
  2. Correct the SSS also had the 65 which was a beefed up 60. It was used in performance applications like the GTO and Trailblazer SS. The 65 was also used in half tons with the 6.0 like the Denali, Escalade and H2. GM Performance sells the 4L65 today as a part in their catalog. Here are some of the differences of a 65..... the 4L65-E is a heavy-duty transmission with enhanced components, including five-pinion gearsets, heat-treated stator shaft splines, induction-hardened turbine shaft, and more.... it is rated up to 430hp.
  3. Some more differences early trucks had 4 wheel disk late trucks that are 2wd have larger front rotors and drum rears. In 2006 they got the power dome hood and HD inspired front grille. They made a few in 2007 but are SUPER hard to find. I've only ever seen a handful for sale. As mentioned front diffs were a weak link as are T cases. They are notorious for wearing a pin hole in case where the pump is. Good luck on your search.
  4. Yeah it was discontinued a LONG time ago... I think someone said if we did a group buy they would make a small run but they were in the 500 range when they went out of production for front and rears... so I think the min is 10 kits so someone would have to front 5G's and I for one am not willing to do that..... Someday if I get time I may go cruise the local u-pull it and look at rear sway bars do a little measuring and see if any ones will fit.... I would love to get one but it doesn't look good.....
  5. Well the PST one is discontinued.... just got a reply from PST. I know about the bell tech one. I have a custom dual exhaust on my truck and most rear sway bars won't clear. The Hotchkis was unique in that it mounts forward vs rearward as most others do.
  6. There was only one generation of Silverado SS. The GMT 800 platform was made from 99-07. During the run the SSS was made from 2003-2007. Early SS trucks had all wheel drive. In late 2005 until the end the SSS was only available in RWD. GM switched to a new platform in 2007 the GMT 900 but built both trucks the new and old called the classic. Chevrolet has not made a Silverado SS since.....
  7. I was searching the net and see that PST makes a rear sway bar.... http://p-s-t.com/series-220150-g-max-1-rear-sway-bar.html#!year%3D2006%7C%7Cmake%3DCHEVROLET%7C%7Cmodel%3DSILVERADO%201500%20SS Anyone here have one? They only have a generic picture but I want to see what it looks like. I would love to find a hotchkis one but I know they are discontinued so my option is a used one.... I'll keep looking but If anyone has one they want to let go let me know!
  8. Lol I thought the same thing..... you might want to look at a GM reman trans. They have a 3yr 100k warranty and a $200 mail in rebate. Should be less then what you were quoted.....
  9. I use an app called image size but I have an iPhone. Welcome BTW!
  10. I thought about doing that but figured I buy one and have the old one as a spare back up...
  11. The applique looks like its starting to peel off on my right brake duct.... It's minor but it bugs me... I may have to replace it. Lol
  12. No this is a keeper. I have a hard time parting with cars that's why I need a bigger garage! Lol
  13. I would send it back or have them send you another. The cover should need work out of the box... mine doesn't. This is the stuff I have used... was recommended by the PPG store I frequent.... I have used the aerosol can stuff. http://kleanstripauto.com/products#bulldog
  14. Yeah they are a lot of fun... mine still has the original tires and they are hard. It is super easy to drift the rear around corners. I really need to get some new tires for it one of these days.... I had one as a company car back in 2001, a pewter SS 6 speed. I fell in love and when they announced that 2002 was the last year I had to have one. It has all the SLP options... its funny you rarely see a 4th gen on the road anymore and the ones you do are usually a roached out V6 or Z28.
  15. Probably never. The car is pristine... super low miles. I special ordered it and have every piece of paper/sticker and dealer material possible. That baby is staying stock. I've done a few minor mods all which can easily be undone. It doesn't get out much so the sun isn't as big as an issue for it. I've never had tinted windows before (but also never lived in the south). I got the tint on the SS to help preserve the interior and prevent the sun from baking it to death. I drive it most days to work... the tint is 3M Crystalline. It's 30% so I'm legal and don't have to worry about being pulled over. It matches the rear tint perfectly.... funny at the shop that put it on they were like the color may not match but after they put on it is almost and exact match!
  16. She knew what she signed up for...
  17. Thanks! Gotta have toys..... and a understanding wife! Lol
  18. Got the F body out the other day.....
  19. No mines raw plastic as well. I'm learning to paint and the paint shop I buy stuff from said I didn't "have" to prime small parts. You just use an adhesion promoter. It basically melts the plastic so the paint can bite to it. I still like to prime before I paint so I get a nice smooth finish. I bought a new XM antenna and some stake pocket covers I'm going to color match. I paint out in my backyard and it's too dang hot now so it's going to have to wait until the fall. Lol
  20. I just got mine from SAE-Auto off of ebay.... perfect and now I have a spare. It was $21 bucks.... heck GM cost on it is almost $40 and list is $60! Its old stock like from 2003 according to date stamp but who cares!
  21. Very true..... traffic last few days has been light on the posts. I like this site no drama and not a lot of garbage. I tried performance trucks.net but it seems cluttered and full of idiots..... imho.
