  1. Now I'm not a big fan of aftermarket tail lights but I kinda like these.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Neon-Pyro-Tube-2003-2006-Chevy-Silverado-Red-Clear-LED-Tail-Lights-Brake-Lamps-/381790476324?hash=item58e47c5824:g:2-gAAOSw4DJYgA1p&vxp=mtr They look like they are a little higher quality using Philips LED's and they incorporate a ballast so you don't get the hyper flash....
  2. I swapped out a K&N for the paper (Donaldson) Volant... I HATE oiled filters... my truck came with the K&N on it. I am happy with the Volant but didn't notice any change (seat of the pants dyno and gas mileage) going from one to the other.... heck they even sound the same when you get on it.
  3. Welcome. Unfortunately the LOA (letter of authenticity) went to the original owner. There is no way to reprint or get a copy. The trucks don't have a number on the vehicle and the VIN doesn't tell you the production number. Maybe you can track down the original owner as that will be your only way. I'm a bit surprised nobody ever created a registry on here with truck numbers so if a truck changes hands there's a chance you might know the number. You can verify yours as a "true" ISS by a code on the label in the glove box.
  4. Cluster needs to be rebuilt which is why gauges are broken.... common problem stepper motors go bad.
  5. I've also used DAS and had good luck. I don't know if they move disabled vehicles.... any place will probably charge a premium for a non running vehicle. There are websites that are brokers for shipping companies but you need to do your due diligence. Also if your not in a hurry you can ship cheaper as they use yours as a fill in for a load. Good luck!
  6. You get what you pay for....
  7. You need to find an auto hauler then. One that won't mind an inoperable vehicle.....
  8. I use Hagerty for my vintage vehicles and they have agreed upon policies. They have restrictions, can't be used for work or commuting etc. strictly pleasure use only.
  9. That color looks like primer..... lol. Toyota has some different colors for sure.....
  10. Most likely it's the rad.... there is no seal there. Have you checked you hoses? Those look like the originals....
  11. That is the oil cooler line. If it leaking coolant it should be red (dex cool). Have you ever serviced the cooling system? There a chance the radiator has sprung a leak at the side take and cooler fitting. If you don't service the coolant you get something called electrolysis and it attacks the metal. Over time it will develop a leak.....
  12. Probably if you buy cheap ones..... the Baer have a long warranty if I recall. The rotor was also thicker than the OE ones. I bought them for occasional towing and everyday driving. So far no cracks.... but I only drive truck about 500 miles a month back and forth to work. I can snap a picture later today but they still look good. If you abuse them I'm sure they willl crack. A lot boils down the the quality you buy.... If I recall they are made in USA which was a requirement of mine. I work for a heavy duty truck OEM and brakes is what I do for a living so I'm a bit of a brake geek. Where you run into problems is with cracking is too high of heat.....poor metallurgy.... then you can run into cracking issues. Brake material also is important because too aggressive will either eat the brake surface (drum or rotor) or have fast pad shoe wear. OE friction is typically a balance between good heat and wear characteristics..... I could ramble all day about it but you don't care..... no do I care to type alll day...... lol.
  13. Yes direct bolt on. They do make a 1inch upgrade so I think 14inch rotor but they are expensive. Both use stock caliper and pad. The 14 inch comes with a bracket to relocate the caliper. The rotors come with a zinc finish that has held up well.... but I live in the south so no salt here. Heck we don't even get that much rain.....
  14. I got the Baer brake slotted and drilled rotors in the factory size. Love em'. I posted a thread when I put them on my 06 but I can't find it on my phone may have to break out the laptop....... Found it! http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/88378-out-with-the-old/?do=findComment&comment=984607
  15. I actually think you can buy just the clips.....
  16. Not sure if the plugs were the same on the higher amp version. From what I can find for that year it needs to be a four pin wide plug with rounded ends..... Maybe ask place you bought from if the higher amp interchanges.....?
  17. Welcome! The site is a bit slow these days but maybe all the new members will rejuvenate it.... So your truck has a little sunburn eh?
  18. No way to tell from VIN, no way to get a duplicate and no registry..... Did you purchase new? It should have been given to you at time of purchase. You could always call the dealer and see if by some odd chance it's in the deal jacket.... my guess is unfortunately your out of luck.
  19. Has front window been replaced? The factory one has a GM logo on corner. You may have to pull carpet back run some water and look for the point of entry....
  20. The seats from a SS are the same as other silverados or any GM pickup from same vintage .... only thing different is the headrest. I can't remember if the color is called dark charcoal or ebony....
