  1. That was part of the SSS package..... it included embroidered head rest with the SS logo. Only time they seem to be missing is if someone swapped out with a regular headrest or the truck was a theft. Theives usually strip all the SS parts off as that is what makes the truck unique.....
  2. Here are a couple more.... not sure where your at but here are some west coast ones...... https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d631&radius=50&zip=28214&sourceContext=RecentSearches_false_0&isRecentSearchView=true#listing=170943387 And one with low miles...... https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d631&radius=50&zip=28214&sourceContext=RecentSearches_false_0&isRecentSearchView=true#listing=173205256 Too bad he can't take a decent picture.... and he's full of crap. There is no way to get a COA after the fact.
  3. They should still be available from the dealer... if you don't want to pay list try a place like gmparts.com....
  4. Welcome..... nice 06s are hard to come by. I love mine!
  5. Yeah get the gate keeper... cheap insurance.... here is my write up when I installed mine..... http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/89797-tailgate-upgrades/?hl=exgm&do=findComment&comment=996764
  6. X2. Aftermarket stuff is not the same.... if you don't want to spend the money on. New GM one go buy a used one. I would never buy an aftermarket one.....
  7. I would goto the local u-pull it. By the time you paid shipping it will kill you.... there are millions of GM trucks out there in wrecking yards and I'm sure what you need would be fairly cheap.
  8. I just like the look of the Grant wheel and it looks a little thicker than the stock one. In 2006 if you ordered the package with Onstar you got the wheel controls. If you didn't order Onstar which mine doesn't have it was a separate option to order the steering wheel with controls. I appreciate the link to your parts. When I eventually add the wheel I'll probably go with a new one because that's just the way I am. Lol. That's funny your in Seattle..... I lived there for a few years. Actually I lived down in Puyallup. Our goal is to get back out to the NW so Oregon or Washington. I've been looking at jobs to move us back out that way.
  9. Thing1 is correct. In the glove box is the SPID label (service parts identification label). On there at the bottom is the paint code. It will be near the letters BC/CC (Base coat clear coat). I bought some paint a few months back to paint some small parts on mine. I went to my local PPG paint distributor and had to have some custom mixed. What is on the label is the code for Victory Red but it wasn't close. Most good paint shops and body shops have a special gun that will zap the paint and create a custom formula or get you reasonably close. Then it can be tinted to match for fading etc.
  10. How do you like that Grant wheel? I was thinking of getting one since the stock one is a little thin.... I can't tell is it leather wrapped? I want one with leather on it.... I also want to add wheel controls.... its the ONLY option my truck doesn't have which is weird....
  11. That's a nice floor plan. I built a house once a few years ago..... I've moved twice for work since then. I wouldn't mind building again if I knew I was going to be in one spot for more then a few years. Lol
  12. Oh that sucks....... and that reminds me why I never loan a vehicle out. Ugh!
  13. So if it was complete and you drove it 30k why did you tear it apart?
  14. When I lived in Portland I bought parts from that place. Hard to tell from pics but look decent..... your right a good deal.
  15. Not my ad but found this one CL..... https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/wtd/6065413384.html
  16. I agree you would have a tough time finding 8 lugs that would look right. Most guys that have 8 lugs lift the truck sky high with big ol tires cause they have a small member.... lol.
  17. Yeah they are a weird... unloved motor.... these guys can help you out if you decide to pick it up! http://www.raylarengineering.com/index.html
  18. I hear ya..... but I'm hopeful they give the Silverado the same treatment..... but if ya gotta haul butt and haul the family this is a nice option.....
  19. This is the closest truck I've seen come out of Chevy that deserves to be an SS...... http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/tahoe/2016.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2017/apr/nyas/chevrolet/0406-rst.html
