  1. here it's a fix-it ticket. you can have the ticket signed off AFTER repaired/fixed by a LEO, (CHP) but it will be inspected by them before they sign. best thing is just follow the law, and save your $$$
  2. give it some miles. the trans adaptive learning program and may need to adjust itself..
  3. i would start by giving your MAF a good cleaning with electric contact cleaner/MAF cleaner. using a K&n filter, you could have oil on the MAF wires. it's common when a MAF is dirty it can/will cause trans issues. you can pick up a spray can from any parts store.. good luck

  6. i would check with a auto parts store, or home depot and find a brass barb fitting for the ID of the hose.. guarantee not to brake again..

  8. i have been using the same Volant oiled filter for 9 years now with no issues. when i clean mine, after it's installed i will take the truck for a good run down the freeway for about 10 miles, and then remove the MAF and clean it, and the TB..if you want to see how well your filter is doing, next time you change/clean your filter, take a white towel/rag and wipe down the inside of your intake tube, and see what you get...i live in a very dusty area of the high desert so i clean mine often. this past week winds were blowing to 70 mph for 3 1/2 days and visibility was less than 100 yards... this is what it looks like after a lite breeze..

  14. X2 pic is of the smallest cracks in 3 of the 4 tires i had, with only 24,000 mi on them..

  16. the issue i would have is exceeding the weight limit of your tires/brakes..with that much weight at 70 mph is just looking for DOA(s)

  18. When discussing performance exhaust systems, it's pretty much common knowledge to the average car guy that too big of an exhaust will rob low end performance. Even more commonly though this is attributed to a lack of Backpressure, which the engine apparently needs to make low end torque. Now the theory is correct on this, but the term backpressure is very wrong. Backpressure is when there is a restriction or blockage in the exhaust path that causes the flow to revert back onto itself and slow down all flow coming through. It's called backpressure because it's when the exhaust is actually creating pressure back towards the engine. The term you're looking for is Exhaust Gas Velocity, which is the energy that the exhaust pulse has as it travels from the combustion chamber. The pulse comes out in a wave for each firing of the cylinder. In a average flowing exhaust (no major restrictions or damage) the pulse will create a vacuum behind it that will accelerate the incoming air/fuel charge during valve overlap (aka The Scavenging Effect. So in effect it helps boost the overall volumetric efficiency inside the cylinder because it goes beyond the limitations of atmospheric pressure. If the exhaust is too large for the pulse, than it will slow down and effectively lose the benefits of the scavenging effect along with it.
  19. it's always good to put some on the plug threads. also put some dielectric grease inside the plug boots. you don't need a lot. what i do is use a small tube and put a thin line from the bottom to the top of the boot, than roll the boot between my fingers, and it will spread it evenly in the boot..if your changing wires, do it on the coil plugs also. makes life easier next time their removed.. good luck

  22. what were your HC/CO readings. did they clear the code and retest, or just fail you on that..i would also check your fuel pump, and regulator for any irregular pressure reading drops. a slight drop in fuel pressure can cause a lean misfire. as stated above, have your tuner check his work. maybe he went a little to aggressive.. good luck edit..how is your fuel filter? new, been a round a while?
