The bose and non-Bose system use the same calibration. He will just have to delete the amp and connect the radio directly to the speaker harness. He might have to get that harness from a non Bose truck. Other than that, the radio stays the same.

That isn't the correct procedure to do a vin relearn on a 6 disc unit. What you have to do is go trough all of the options and reflash the radio with the correct calibration number for your truck. Once that is done, when you cycle the key, the radio will pick up the new vin number and work.

Yea that looks awfully familiar, wonder if they have a discount if your upgrading from their older one.
Nope, basically the run around that I got was that his products never fail and he hasn't had issues. And when I asked why there was a v2, v2.1, v3 he simply said he found better ways off doing things. So you either go his route, or the old vette tac, and speartech harness route. The latter might net you 80% wot. Not everyone experiences that though.

Here is a pic of my old v1. Left me stranded too many times, didn't recover from the last time while I was at Vegas. Blackbeastss let me borrow his v2 to get me home

Thank you Zippy, it turned out the TAC module was checking out, we have a new one on the way. I am going to replace my X link as well anyway, the one in there is really cheap looking, just a small box full of goop with wires going in one side and out the other, no name or anything on it.
That's the Xlink v1. Very problematic.

Thanks for the heads up Aaron. And yes, I can definitely help out.

It's a process where the pcm learns the harmonics of the entire engine, if you swap pcms and/or change a camshaft the harmonics change, causing false positives for missfires and knock. This is why a the process should be done after a cam swap or pcm swap

Iirc you did the 80e swap, the 80e does not use a 3-2 shift solenoid.

^^^ yes. I do it all the time. The info is stored on the hpt unit itself. The software check what the cable is liscensed to. The only draw back is that you won't have the latest tune on the other laptop unless you store them on a flash drive

Art, if you want to go to fomoso let me know. I can set up the gmc and camper and spend the weekend there. We did before with Jaime and my bro

Only if you use hptuners.

If he is using hptuners either will work fine. The stock 60e tuning is very nice and works better for dd your truck. However, with hpt, I believe you can't change the gear ratios in the stock 60 file. With Efilive you can do both. But in Efilive you won't have a few extra tcc parameter which leads to your tcc unlocking when letting off the throttle at hwy speeds

It's the one bad thing about getting mail order pcms. Especially if you don't sentmd your Oem out.

Why can't people just be happy that the option of a rwd sedan is available. Nothing but not-picking for little reason. If it's not fast enough, it's not like we can't mod them. Comparing it to a cts-v is apples to oranges. New vs New it's over a 20k difference. Personally I like the ss and if I could I'd get one

Yes they will work, I believe all trailblazer and envoy use the non-lux Bose sound system so it's plug and play. I'm using the factory nav from an envoy on my 03 gmc. PnP with n o issues. You will just need someone with a tech 2 to do a vin relearn

There is more than just some bit of power between the low octane and high octane timing tables. On a gas motor the biggest difference in economy between the good gas mileage and bad is the right go pedal. A significant drop in economy usually is an indicator of a bad tune base tune

People stop comparing a diesel to a gas engine. They are two completely different animals.
No, on a gas engine there is no need for différent tunes, the best thing to do is to drive sensibly and make sure the truck is running good.
As stated before, t/h only changes transmission parameters. It does nothing for the engine side of things.
The pcm calibrators does use two Rom chips to have two tunes on one pcm. Iirc you need to pull over, flip a switch, and restart the truck for the tune to go into effect. But once again, our truck have pe available and there is no need for that since at cruise and idle, you want to run at 14.7 afr. You can do a pseudo lean cruise, but that isn't very helpfull and hurts other engine components if ran too long in a lean state. Not to mention NOX go sky high.

The only problem with auxiliary switches is that most people forget about them in the heat of things.
