  1. i still think there are better options than the 2300 blower out there for a 400+ cu in lsx setup the kenne belle 2.8 being one of them . the 3.6 would be a better choice for sure but in terms of simplicity its going to take a bit of customizing to retrofit on the truck. with turbos you dont need to worry about a bigger inlet (tb size as much as your postitive pressure is already made before going through it so its much less of a restriction. iirc a recent test was done on a turbo 400+ cu lsx and less than 15 rwhp was made between the two. as well as being able to retian a stock belt setup and boost adjustability is much easier on a turbo setup is what made me choose turbo . with awd and 4.10's the ss has adding more low end torque your stressing the drivetrain very hard when launching . im still scared to launch mine with any kind of boost . i swapped to 3.73's gears front and rear as well as full built 10 bolt and 3k circle d stall to help more with top end . what im getting at is these trucks have alot to help them with bottoem end to begin with so making the power in the long run is what will get you better results in the 1320 imo. stop light or 1/8th miled the maggie is good choice but for all out 1320 fun and still ripping on the street turbo / 80e is also a great choice along with being somewhat reliable. but thats just imo so take it for what its worth.

  5. saw it wednesday , not impressed . first half was good then it just flatlines with over done action scene's. reminded me of how southpark clowned mike bay " we need more explosions" lol girl is pretty hot , not megan fox hot but hot in here own way , accent i dig , she is more natural and probably hotter the next morning hot .

    interesting in the skirt coating , it has my attention for sure. if you can give me a ring or a pm . i am looking for a new set of slugs in the 4.130 bore for my lsx since i need to go a bit bigger . i need something i can run @ .003 clearance or less without worrying about swelling . i want to keep them tight and have long skirts with gas releifs and coated tops . i was leaning towards not coating the skirts because most dont last long and you end up with more clearance in the long run after the coating has worn off. if you have any suggestions on a piston for my setup , shooting for the 1600 hp range this time.
  8. i stand corrected , unless they started doing the ss hood but i saw a green one today with the scoop in the hood and usually that means its an ss/v8 so either it was modified or they added green to the ss as an option .
  9. also the a -arms dont push the wheels/hubs out more than stock and for me that helped my 22"s tuck and corner that much better , a-arms are by far the best choics frod drop in the front imo.

  11. daym mine was 5450 with 1/4 tank less driver , full tank with me is 5700.
  12. remember to correctly chnage the color of a vehicle the engine either needs to come off or the cab does to paint the fire wall . imo if you do it dont forget that as well as the back of the cab and back of the bed .
  13. any thing that is soft/squishy will need to be resined/epoxied first other wise it will crack , with heat and cooling it will happen unless its made something not flexible that will not do this . its why hydrodipping some interior parts costs so much . i wont even say what i have into my interior but its more than anyone would fathom . but i have about 40-50 parts in my interior hydrodipped in carbon fiber and it contrast's very nicely with the black leather and silver suede. there is only a small bit of charcoal left from the factory .
  14. you can use the stock location from the 99-02 trucks/suvs for the floor lighting , the brackets are still there , i did this and tapped into the wire so you can dim them and turn them on with the switch on the stock dash . another thing you can do is get a dome light from a tahoe for the rear passenger overhead that has lamps with buttons so they can use them as well , this is plug n play with the addition of a constant 12v source . i did that as well as adding the homelink in my overhead console that needed a 12v source . i did hyper white for my interior bulbs since you actually need them to see , the rest of my interior is blue led ( all the factory gauges/a/c cluster radio etc) im adding a touchscreen nav from an escalade with the 6 disc in the lower cubby in the bottom of the center console like the escalade has stock and it will all be wired as stock with the addition of the lux amp to get more bass from the bose system. you can also not add resistors to some of the trucks and get a electronic flasher relay for the earlier trucks depending if you truck uses the lm487 flasher it looks like this its located in the driverside knee area , near the ebrake and bcm , just turn on your hazards , unbolt your knee area lower dash cover and follow the relay click. that will determine what e-flasher you need , imo this is the right way to do it if you ever need to swap back its as simple as swapping bulbs.

    i always leave it in D and go , but i cant really say i apply to the question since i have a 4l80e and i was getting into 4th gear on some runs , 3.73s solved that for me .
  17. i guess its just because i know the color and it only comes in the v6 models so everytime i see one i think meh v6 model boooo. its an eye catching color for sure so expect alot of attention , wanted or not it will get it.
  18. if you not mechanically inclined i wouldnt try taking it apart , it does involve a bit of soldering. not to hard but getting the bearing out for the front part of the case isnt easy as the case is cast aluminum and can easily break. powermaster and irragi have some nice higher output models you can get in black and they actually put out a bit more power . id look into something in the 200 amp range if you have electrical upgrades

  22. pm supersub he has a cool place that does custom emblems or google custom emblems and youll find it. long story short , lifted my heads on a fluke and when my past yank converter balloned it swelled and pushed the crank forward into the thrrust bearing and i caught it when i pulled the heads and deceided to have a glance at bearings. im really glad i did that. one piston had more clearance than i liked so im going to go to a 4.130 piston and run them all @ .003 clearance. with some added touches to the new set of slugs including gas reliefs and a longer skirt . the ones i got were kind of a rush job but they will almost be identical. i just know that certain pistons do swell more than others such as je from what a few reputable builders have said swell more than others which can be good and bad. but im sticking with diamond for now . i got my block and heads back from surfacing so they are nice and flat so all i need is a big chunk og change for this new custom set of pistons . i also have some modifications being made to my turbo kit itself but ill keep those to myself for now.

  25. exactly right mike , i dont have a ton of time either but ill say that adams truck has a lower compresiion 454 and ive been hanging out with him a bit recently and his dad is no longer selling it , we are going over some plans i have for it and boost . nothing crazy but expect consistant 11's with great behavior. just have to remind him the cost of the 80e swap he will need ill be back on here later
