  1. Radar lock isn't mandatory in CA. It is just a tool to help the officer confirm visual estimate.

  5. The fuel trims are constantly learning, and if there was a significant "repair", it would show up almost immediately. The trims can be reset via the Scan tool in either the LS1/LS6 control panel or the Long Term Fuel Trim Cells window.
  6. Nope. VERY VERY common code for 2003-2004 tahoes (90% of them have it), not so much on the trucks usually that I've seen. Our tahoe is at the dealer right now to get that repaired under warranty. It's a problem with the recirc door in the HVAC system.
  7. If you didn't see any fuel, then your FPR is likely in good shape, but a fuel pressure gauge would be needed to be sure... Since your truck is relatively stock, the stock VE table should fairly closely resemble your engine. You could start the process of elimination by disconnecting the MAF sensor and see how it responds. This will leave you with a bit more timing due to the missing IAT sensor, so don't go out and hot rod the truck, but try it and see how the fuel trims respond at part throttle. It will give a good indication as to whether the problem is an air problem or a fuel problem. Justin
  8. yep, that's the line. When was the last time you ran the truck? Disconnect the line with it idling and see what effect that has... Do you have access to a fuel pressure gauge?
  9. FPR is in this picture, the circular object just south of center with a small vacuum line attached. Unhook that line and look for fuel...
  10. It's a freak occurance... unless the condition is worsening as time goes on. None of the primary air/fuel injector tables are changed from the tuned to the stock one.
  11. It's his long term trims. They're moving in unison (signifies that it's not an exhaust problem) and raising as manifold pressure raises. If no leaks exist, then it's likely that he's having a fueling issue... quite possibly damaged FPR diaphragm.
  12. It's probably due to the way the tach reference was hooked up. With your first couple of pulls we were using the tire reference, the later ones were with ignition pickup. Justin

  14. Remember guys, he has a 5.3L. A 3.0" pulley would put him well over 10psi. Rule of thumb is 1psi per .1" pulley change. On an L59 or LM7, your system could handle a 3.2" pulley (~10psi) with just a little work. The extra boost will lower the flow rate of your injectors, leaning you out a little bit above 6psi, so you may need to have your tune updated accordingly. Justin
  15. The kit itself would be slightly different. 05 has a replacement in-tank fuel pump vs 03 having an inline boost-a-pump. 05 fuel manifold on the driver's side fuel rail will be different than 03 model.
  16. Problem with running the 2004 computer is that the VIN won't match up with the BCM and it likely won't start there. The 2002 computer is a different computer entirely and won't work due to technical reasons. Stock injectors with a tune for big injectors = running very lean. With nothing else available to you, what you can do is crank up your fuel pressure. Use a torx bit on the regulator and crank it up 3 full turns (clockwise). It won't run great, but should run a little bit better. Then, once you get up to 130* coolant temp and in closed loop the PCM will recover a bit on it's own. Whatevery you do, do NOT drive with any amount of throttle at all, basically just limp it to the shop. What about putting the big injectors back in?
  17. Cylinders are numbered from the front of the vehicle to the rear, with driver's side being odd numbered and passenger side being even. #7 is driver's side rear cylinder.

Turns out I rode my bike to campus right by this place just about every day for a year. Whoda thunk they were doing flying car development right there.   19. The tuners that enable it are either hacking the PCM's calibration directly, or are making other adjustments that have a similar effect, but do not utilize GM's "lean cruise" functions. The Custom OS's still have the vehicle check in the code. The benefit with the COS is that you are able to use the revamped commanded AFR by RPM/Map table to achieve the same effect.
  20. Hey everybody, I had a set of fuel rails anodized for me a while back and I think they turned out pretty well. Figured that since there are so many Radix owners here that maybe some of you other guys might be interested too. I figure I would have a few batches made in Red, Blue and Black if there is enough interest. Not sure on the price yet, but definitely should be well under $100 a set.   22. The 2000 PCM is a 512KB PCM, the 2003+ are 1MB PCMs. In addition to being a different size, the connectors are keyed differently, which would not allow the 00 PCM to even be plugged in without removing the red plastic covers. Sell the 00 PCM to help fund your new tune.
  23. No, that's a bit low if you're making 6psi of boost. Check it again with the vac line disconnected. You need to maintain a 58 gauge psi differential between the pressure in the fuel rail to the pressure in the intake manifold (aka, if you're at 15" of vacuum, fuel pressure should be 51psi, 6psi of boost, fuel pressure should be 64psi).
  24. To get an idea of what your differential pressure is, disconnect the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator and see what your pressure is then. It should be 58psi.
