  1. Damn dude thats gonna be pretty nice when it's all done. Are you gonna do some aftermarket brakes for all that power? What kinda wheels are you gonna put on it? I'm having trouble thinking of a style of wheel that would look correct on something like this.
  2. Ouch man. Glad to hear your both ok, hopfully the insurance will do the right thing. I would guess if the frame is bent that it'll be totaled.
  3. Yeah don't we all wish we could!
  4. LOL no this is a small block chevy 1st generation.
  5. I'm not sure what it's going into but someone in Australia bought this one. We are currently building two more of this exact setup. One is for another customer and the other is a "Dyno Queen" engine which will be used by us at Banks for R&D purposes.
  6. Here is the high HP twin turbo we build I just dynoed this one today. It's intercooled running 100 octane and 20lbs of boost. I'll let the video say the rest of the story! Video
  7. A dealer won't go out of their way to look this info up. I changed my cluster at about 15,000 miles and now shouw 15,000 miles on my new cluster. When I tried to trade my truck in they have you fill out a paper stating that none of this has been altered in any way shape or form, but i'm not worried about it because how can they prove that you personaly had anything to do with it being wrong? Besides they aren't gonna check the lil "black box" they are gonna just go by what the OD reads and leave it at that.
  8. That seems to be how the wheel industry is when you custom order a set of wheels. The manufacturer doesn't care because if you like the wheel enough to order it weather it's a brand new proto type wheel or a custom one off wheel like mine, they figure your willing to wait. It took IForged 3 1/2 months to make my wheels.
  9. Cleveland engines are in the bigblock family, the Windsor is in the smallblock family. If it hasn't been painted over or removed there should be a sticker under the hood on one of the fender wells like 2"x3" and it will clearly state what engine belongs in the car not to say it is the one thats in there now.
  10. If that car has the original engine in it it's gonna be a 351 Cleveland 4 barrel with a spread bore carb "larger secondaries" kinda like a GM quadrajet. I had a 72 ranchero 500 squire with a 400 cleveland 2 barrel and I installed a 4 barrel manifold with s 650 holly and it out ran my dads 351 72 ranchero GT with a 4 barrel. The big difference between these two engines is the heads. You will find more/ better power with 2 barrel heads because the 4 barrel heads flow more air then you can throw fuel at unless you supercharge it. We could never get the 351 with 4 barrel heads stock to run correctly even after it was rebuilt. While the 400 with 2 barrel heads and a 4 barrel manifold/ carb would out run the GT in a heart beat. I ran across an article where they were talking about the 351 and they gained more reliable power with 2 barrel heads over the stock GT 4 barrel heads. They then put the 4 barrel heads back on it and supercharged it and found the best use for the 4 barrel heads because they were able to flow the air and fuel needed to run those huge heads. If you are looking for interior parts a good place to look is the junk yard, look for T-birds, Torinos, and Rancheros from 72 to about 79. Door panels, dash pieces and seats all have the same mounting. I wound up getting a GT hood for mine off of a torino for $25. When they were going for around $1200-$1500 at restoration places. If you have any question please feel free to ask me I restored two of these and know a lot of the oddities about these cars. I just found a pic of mine when I had it.
  11. Yeah there is days of work involved in polishing a manifold and $200 isn't bad for the job they did.
  12. Bad ass dude who did you take it to for polishing?
  13. it was very slow for me too at one point lastnight and I had a hard time getting the search function to work.
  14. This is actually partly due to new smog laws for diesels which started in 07. All manufacturers of passenger diesel's are now not only required to have cats but they are also required to have particulate traps which is basically an exhaust filter and the trap will never allow smoke past. Eventually the trap will need cleaning and the only way to clean it is to get it really hot and it kinda acts as a cat in that way, it will then burn off any soot that it has traped. The manufactures are adding extra fuel to make it burn hot under certain conditions which is the cleaning period for the particulate trap, but something has majorly gone wrong with the Fords when some of them go into their cleaning cycle it's as if the injectors stick open way too long. I have heard it's a simple programming issue but as of now this is only hear say. We have one of these trucks at work and I would love to see it blow flames. The exhaust temps are supposed to get to around 2600* durring the cleaning cycle and this is why they put that odd looking tip on it because they are trying to introduce cooler air before that 2600* exhaust exits. If you look at the new HD Duramax LMM Chevy/GMC they also have a wierd tip on them for the same reason.
  15. I went to the dealer a week or so ago and asked what they would give me for my truck. They came back and said well we can give you 17,500-18,500 max. I laughed and said you gotta be kidding me. I still owe 31,000 on it. Then they tried to play games and as i'm about to walk out they said uhhh well we can give you 24,000 max. needless to say I left. But I don't think your gonna get anywhere near what you would get before the new body style came out because anyone can go on any lot and get a loaded 07 crewcab with the 5.3 for 28,000. The dealers don't want the old body style when a new body style is released because they are gonna have a hard time getting rid of them and making any money on them.
  16. I like boobies pics are required!!!
  17. Baking soda and water will stop any damage. I would do baking soda and water a few times while drying in between each time. Then I would try some carpet cleaner to get the baking soda out of the carpet.
  18. If you have park it's not your output shaft and most likely your input shaft. If you have no park it's no question your outputshaft broke!
  19. Wow looks like an LSX block now! You painted it at Daves shop? Have some beers with him?
  20. That doesn't even begin to describe it just imagine a 30+ story building comming down right across the street from you after you are already plastered! No video can show how bad ass it was.
