  1. Well, I've got my tune all dialed in and figured out and everything runs strong with the open TB and OLSD tune but............ When I turn the truck off after about 1 second, it makes this weird purging sound as if some air is bleeding off somewhere. Anyone ever heard off this type of deal or is this something bad?

    Dtc's List

I've got all day buddy! I don't need it now, I just want it for a reference for the future so I know what my scan gauge is telling me. Thanks!

    Dtc's List

Anyone have a list of DTC's that I can print out? I found one online somewhere but I can't seem to track it down again. TIA...

    P0174

    Same thing happened to me!
  5. Go to my controls at the top of the page and then go to edit profile. It is the first item on that screen reading "custom member title."
  6. Sorry to hear about the truck bro. Take your roll pan off before it goes to the crusher and sell it to me!

    Iat Sensor

Ok, one last time... In the fender well somewhere (the much easier option)? Or In the TB spacer (not so easy and not sure if it will even fit)? In the spacer will read hotter because of under hood temps but probably more accurate. In the fender well will read cooler but not as accurate of course. Help me out here please!!!

    What Size?

LOL...Sorry, that just sounds funny! How did you know it was pipe threaded? Mine ahs threads but I have a tap set so I was just planning on doing that.
  9. Not a problem. If you guys want to give it away to someone after the test, that is fine with me. I got it for free so I don't feel right about selling to someone.

    What Size?

No one has installed this thing before??? C'mon, I got the part number from this site!
  11. The war has already been won in my book! No CAI is a good CAI!!! Do you guys need an Outlaw or are they out of the picture since they're out of business?

    What Size?

Anyone know what size drill bit I need to use to install the MSD IAT sensor? I think I found a good place for it but I can't screw-up the hole. TIA...
  13. Sorry to hear about that. I used to worry like crazy when I drove my truck everyday. I am so grateful that my truck has a garage to live in now and only sees the light of day at the track. Hope everything works out for you.
  14. What cam would you suggest for my current set-up without changing all of the other things suggested? I don't really want to do all of that work or spend that money. I'd like a little more power and a good, lopey sound to it.

    Rust?

    Makes sense Chase. Thanks.

    Rust?

Nope. They have been long gone for a while now. My passenger side o2 is bad? Maybe that has something to do with it? I can smell my racing gas stronger than usual so maybe I am running a bit rich?

    Rust?

I started up my truck twice since removing the CAI and MAF and I discovered what appeared to be rust spots on my garage floor where the turn downs are. I haven't done any tuning yet but I am pretty close to SD already. Would the no CAI/MAF be causing this or is something wrong?
  18. No converter change for me! I've been through that twice and it costs too much. I like my converter a lot. What intake do you speak of or recommend?
  19. I agree 100%. My tuning took a boat load of different people and a lot of time to get right after my mail order tunes. Mail order tunes are a great start but they are somewhat of a guess IMO because they can't be checked and logged in the actual vehicle.
  20. As the drag racer on the forum, I must chime in here. Their is a some misinformation being put out there on this topic one so I will attempt to clear isome of it up from my experience on the track. The tailgate thing: LEAVE IT UP!!! There have been several scientific tests as well as a Myth Busters done on this very topic. The newer trucks are created differently than their earlier bretheren. The air flowing over the cab actually collects in the bed and actually helps air flow over the entire truck down track. My faster MPH's and ET's were with the tailgate up sans tonneau. Taking it off will save you 30-40 pounds max so their is some savings there I guess but the rule of thumb is that 100 pounds = a tenth of a second so is it worth it? The altitude: You could be at sea level or at 10,000 feet and still run slow at both locations. The weather and the density altitude have EVERYTHING to do with ET. It may have only been 75* but was it humid? Was there any head wind? All of these things factor into slower ET's. How you are launching: I launched stalling to 2000 or so with a stock converter for years and never had a bogging issue. That shouldn't be happening and if it is, you have an issue some where. Launching from idle may help until you get a higher stall TC. You need a converter: When I went up to a 2600, I dropped half a second in ET and at least 2 tenths in 60'. When I went even higher, I lost even more. My suggestions: Lose some weight!!! Not you personally, but the truck. That has been the secret to my success with my minimal mods. Get a converter and have Zippy check the tune. Something may be a tick off some where (no offense to Zippy but it happens). Hope this helps a little! Don't give up just yet, you are really close to where you want to be with your minimal mods. ***These are just my opinions based on my personal experience as a racer. 21. So my awesome wife says to me last night, "Why haven't you just put a cam in your truck yet?" I said, "Wuh, wuh, wuh, What?!?" Not only does she know what a cam is and what it does but she clearly wants me to get one! I guess I picked a winner this time. Anyway, I have a Comp 236/238 .601/.605 113 in the garage. I bought it a while back from someone here. Since I bought it, everyone has been saying that it is waaaay too much cam for my combo (See sig). What would it take to run this cam? I really don't want to try and sell this one and buy another. If I were to get another one, what would you all suggest for my set-up? Your opinions and suggestions are welcomed. TIA...
  22. Will my new wide band o2 (Altronics) hook up to my new Aero Force or will I need to get an A/F ratio gauge separate?
