  1. Ok, don't laugh at me here, but you could do what the true import race cars do (not the rice on the street) and install some wheelie bars on the back that damn near touch the ground. The front wheel drive race cars do this because as you launch, the weight shifts back taking the weight off of the drive tires. The bars slam to the ground thus forcing that moved weight back to the front. I have stood on the starting line when these cars launch and it works rather well. I realize this isn't very practical for you because you still drive your hoopdy on the street but it's just an idea.
  2. I would have made it to the last one if you would have called me!!! I'm down for the G2G's but I don't drive my truck anymore and I am usually busy with racing when y'all have them. I'll make it to one someday!
  3. When I get some stuff and finish painting things!
  4. I guess I should have posted this a long time ago but I never got around to it. My SS is now garage kept for the first time in its life! My wife and I closed escrow on our new condo back on February 19th. For you SoCal guys and gals, we bought one of those brand new tri-level units at Victoria Gardens (just north of Cheesecake Factory and west of Bass Pro Shops). It is an awesome place and, like I said, I have a garage for my baby! The SS barely fits but it gets the job done!
  5. I may have just gotten lucky and got some of the good parts from the manufacturer. I have often felt that about a lot of my stuff because I have flogged the hell out of my truck and haven't had any catostrophic failures (again, knocking on some serious wood!).

    New Times

I ran similar times before I got a converter. My old TCI 2600 dropped me half a second easily. When I stepped up to the 3200 stall, I dropped another 3 tenths. I was getting false KR because of the noise from my very loud exhaust. I turned the sensitivity down, almost off on my sensors (done in the tune) and that fixed that problem. Like everyone has said, you need to log the run so that your tuner can work from there. Good luck! 14.70 is nothing to be ashamed of in a 5500+ lbs. truck.
  7. I haven't had any problems with mine. I recently changed the fluid and there were some metal shavings on the plug but that is to be expected with 80k on it. Mine runs strong at the track and has had no issues thus far (knock on wood!).
  8. I love the Goodmarks but I'm trying to take some more weight off of the truck. My glass one fits but not as good as I would like, especially on the sides.
  9. Steel or otherwise, please! I am trying to see if I can get my new fiberglass one to fit a little better.
  10. Thanks everyone and happy Easter!
  11. Very true. To be honest, heads are just on the wish list. I will probably never get around to changing those unless I can land a sponsorhip. I would like to freshen up the top end of the motor (cam, rockers, spings, and push rods) sooner than later though.
  12. I beat the mustang but lost to the chevelle. Those were both final rounds in the same day. I just missed the double up! Oh well, a win and a runner-up ain't too bad for a day's work.
  13. It certainly is! God, I'm an idiot!
  14. Gotta love how bracket racing levels the playing field!
  15. I know. I have a huge cam sitting in the garage but I have been afraid to put it in. I don't want to ruin my consistency. I'd like to upgrage the rocker arms, heads, push rods, springs, and cam someday but I never seem to have the money or the time. I kinda don't know how to do all of that either! Chase: I may be out there announcing but without the truck on Saturday.
  16. Yes it is! It threw an 02 sensor heater code as I loaded it onto the trailer but I cleared that out and she ran great all weekend. I put a ton of laps on her and the trans cooler really did its job as I was running 3 classes back to back to back. I didn't mention in my first post that I went to the 1/4 finals in one class, runnered-up in the other, and won the 3rd. $750, one plaque, and one trophy at the end of the weekend. It was a BLAST!
  17. Thanks everyone! It was great...I had all of these guys with 6 and 7 second cars talking about how awsome my truck performs. They were just absolutely amazed that my 5150 pound (I weighed it this weekend) truck could run like that.
  18. Must have caught a good gust of wind or something...13.784!!! Good thing the other guy went red...I broke out by over a tenth. I sure wasn't expecting that gust of wind but I'm happy with the new best!
  19. Will that hand held read codes and clear them?
  20. Congrats! You only won because of your avatar!!! Damn popularity contests!!!
  21. I have a custum built trailer that is built like a tank. The truck barely fits but the suspension holds up well and attached to my 1991 Coachman Motor Home (Ford 460), it tows like a dream. I hardly even know it's back there.
  22. Congrats Zippy! Married life is great!
  23. Uh, see my sig! I actually don't like stickers like I have them but I get paid when I win so it's kind of a no brainer to go ahead and put them on for me.
