  1. My kind of mod - I've been wanting to do something like this for over a year now just haven't made the time for it. I also want to move the bumper 1/2" upward & inward to better fit the truck. Mr. P. I did the same when I re-mounted it...looks much better IMO. Next step is the front when I get a chance.
  2. Yeah mine did too! I'm just going to ditch my shackles and use drop leafs to compensate for the inch.
  3. Damn, that's a pretty good idea. What did you use to accomplish it? Are the brackets or whatever really obvious or did you hide them so it looks factory? I guess when your a bracket racer and really trying to save weight, you come up with all kinds of ideas by thinking out of the box. Good job! I reused two of the brackets that actually held the cover to the bumper on the bottom and then made a couple more out of some alluminum strapping. All of the mounts are hidden underneathe the truck. There are some visible screws on the outside but I could have done a better job of hiding them if I really wanted to.
  4. As far as strong...not really the way I did it because my SSS is just a drag truck now. I'm sure their are several stronger ways to do it but then what's the point if the support ways too much? As far as safety in a collision...I'd seem to think it would be just as safe as a fiberglass roll pan. I guess I should have stated that a bit differently. What I ment was going 100mph how secure is it to the truck? Would you drive it like that as a daily driver? That is more what I was trying to get at. I would drive it as a daily driver like because like I said, I'm sure it's just as safe as a roll pan. As far as holding up at 100 MPH, I'll find out soon enough! I sure hope it does. I was in kind of a hurry and I was trying to add as little weight as possible but I'm sure one could fab it up to hold up to 200 MPH and still come out weighing less than stock.
  5. Here's your picture...go to the back of your truck and take a look! Or try to imagine it since you're a TBSS'r now. It looks just like stock minus the steel underneath. I'll snap some if you really want to see it.

  7. So I took my rear bumper off to lose some weight and because of the cost and availability of a roll pan, I found a way to remove the cover from the bumper and fabricate it back onto the truck. Just thought this was a good idea for those of you who would like to remain stock looking without the extra pounds.
  8. I couldn't agree more! I bought my cam from him...Great shape, fast shipping and great deal!
  9. Huh? I thought it only burned up the cats and F'd with the computer if not tuned? I know all of the fuel injected stock eliminater guys use it and have no injector issues that I've ever heard of.
  10. Not sure where they are cheap but I have heard bad things about them. You may want to look into another brand.
  11. I use VP LEADED 110 and it smells great and I run more consistent. As for the performance, I have no proof of better performance other than it doesn't ping and it's consistent. Be sure to use unleaded unless you don't have cats!!! You'll screw them up if you use leaded.
  12. Anyone know if I can install Belltech drop leafs along with my drop shackles for a total of 5 inches of drop in the rear?
  13. Shackles or hangers? I already have one or the other, I just can't remember which one!
  14. Anybody??? Can I just slap some blocks on there or should I add shackles to go along with my hangers??? HELP!!!!!!
  15. My lip is machined not chrome but I have used Mother's billet polish on them and it does pretty well.
  16. So I remove my rear bumper and take out my passenger seat and I notice that the drivers side rear is sitting higher than the passenger side. WTF??? I measured the gap from the top of the tire and the top of the wheel well and it's an inch higher on the drivers side. I know the bumper added weight to the rear but it should be evenly distributed right? I don't get it! It looks funny to me and I don't plan to put the bumper back on. So my question...Can I drop the rear 2 more inches without using a flip kit? I've already dropped it 2 inches from stock using shackles. TIA...
  17. If you go with 22's (which you should IMO) you must drop it at least 2" because the gap looks terrible in the rear due to the shorter tire. I prefer black on black but chrome is nice too. It all depends on how much you enjoy cleaning your wheel!
  18. Well the bumber was damn heavy and seat wasn't too light either. I'd say overall (this is a guess) close to 500 pounds.
  19. Can't remember who makes the rollpasn for SS's...Any help?
  20. Yes...No back seat, passenger seat, rear bumper, tow hooks, spare, jack, and spare tire hoist thingy.
  21. WANTED: Balck or unpainted rollpan. Let me know...
  22. My tune is from Charlie Wheatley. I cant say how good his tunes are. Its amazing. I saw that. I've heard equally good things about Zippy's tunes as well.
