  1. I can't go into detail about the inner workings of the dealers. What you have to understand is each dealer is independently owned and operated under a corprate name. It is their discression to either work or not work on your vehicle no matter what it is. There is a contractual obligation for them to provide warranty service and if they do not it is again their responsibilty to tell you why they choose not to. No single dealer can void your warranty that actually has to go though GM corprate. That can not be done by a single entity. I have dealt with GM extensively in this manner beucase in 1999 GM had to do a buy back on a montecarlo z34 I had with electircal issues. I took the vehicle in 32 times in 5 months GM put 6500 miles on it trying to " Duplicate" the problems then when I wired the fuel pump to a switch so I would not get stranded they tried to void the warranty. It doesn't work the way alot of people think. Further more in response to the PCM issue. The tech 2 can read the computer diagnoiscs and download the exsisting PCM programming it can reload new programming that is downloaded from a mainframe computer. It can not however read the binaries that actually control shift points rpm cuts ect.. The only way that can be read is with either an aftermarket editing program or by other GM computers that 9 out of 10 dealer technicians do either not use or have no access to. The only way they will know about a shift kit or a tb stall is if you tell them. If a tech suspects something then they have to ask you why and what.. they don't just pull your trans without asking to find out. Alot of misconceptions about dealers are becuase alot of people " heard" from one guy or another what the big bad dealer did. Remember the most important part. You purchased the vehicle from them. From the corp. They are at your service becuase you are their customer. That doesn't mean they can push you around. And that doesn't mean you owe them anything either. Keep that in mind no matter what car company you go to.
  2. There is absolutely nothing that the dealer can read with their scan tool to see that the vehicle has been tuned and the only way they would ever alter your flash is if you had a major programming fault and they had to rewrite your entire pcm. That is a very rare instance.
  3. I can next week after turkey day monday or tuesday whatever works better for you.
  4. when I get my truck back. It is at the dealer in mich right now
  5. Terry, Thanks for the great response I look forward to making that truck damn fast.. not as fast as mine though haha.. red is the fastest color you know.
  6. im about 3 hours north sorry I din get back to you been slammed last 3 days.
  7. Syty.net is a great resource. STAY away from s10forum or s-series forum.. they are a bunch of kids with their heads up their asses.. .trust me.. Best bang for your buck throw a nice ls1 in there mild cam and leave it rear wheel drive and have fun.. The awd platform in those trucks is pretty costly to make strong and reliable. The real fast sy ty guys are always snapping halfshafts or breaking trannys or diff's my .02
  8. Yeah I run the 2.8 on the older vortec engines gives me about 16 psi out of a p1sc.. like the 4.3 v6 I had boosted before I used that and the 5.7 vortec in my tahoe. They have a much diffrent crank pulley than the gen 3 engines so I can get down around a 2.7 without scattering parts
  9. whats the latest? I have a 2.8 reichard if you wanna borrow it hhehe..
  10. Lets put it this way I wasn't really looking to sell it.. but I can see parting with it.. I don't reeeally need it. So if you are intrested in it.. Shipping is the absolute worst part because of size it's not really heavy just bulky. Shipping is going to be around 65 bucks. 270 sound fair shipped? Let me know
  11. If things pan out in about a week or so ill drop you a PM hope you still have it!
  12. I gotta ask what's the number.. I would personally love to have that truck I know it is probobly out of my range but if you don't want to post it drop me a PM Kurt
  13. How much yah lookin to spend I just took mine out about 2 weeks ago
  14. It has never been out of my truck. and I baby my truck appearance wise.. it doesn't get beat up at all.. I beat up the tires.. thats about it. the only things in there are a flashlight a spare power inverter and a rainsuit.. it is a really nice accessory to have and it locks. It is the original GM peice my truck was ordered with it and as an option it was I think 390 bucks or something on the vehicle sticker.. Where are you located?
  15. Has anyone else noticed the fact that they told him they can tune it for 87???? I don't know if you got your truck new or used but I belive in more than one place in the service manual owners manual and the vehicle sticker it tells you from GM not to run less than 90 octane.. the static compression ratio in your stock lq9 is defintely not designed for low octane fuel... and whoever told you this story from hypertech obviously is a salesman and has zero tune time.. does he even drive a car or does he ride a segway to work? The best advice I can give is you can take everyone's knowledge as opinions and make your own choice and find out for yourself. Some lessons are learned by pocket book an others by lumps and bumps.
  16. Possibly.. what do you want to pay for one.?
