  1. To Joe and Drako. Prices are in the works and coming. And to Answer Joe. They bolt up to our stock cat pipes.. however.. you have to cut off the GM Flange and weld on the one they provide you to allow everything to maintain a perfect fit. It is really fairly straight forward. Stiff1 did that on the floor with no lift so its not a terribly difficlult install. So they do not replace the cats. Stiff1 hollowed them out however. He infact did pay 1600 and some change when he bought them originally. I remember when I met him I asked that. Also they do come Jet-Hot coated. They also brag and this is legit.. they are the only headers not to set a check engine light when installed in the advised fashion.. this is true. Also the Tri-Y design makes them superior to any of the other headers for creating low end torque. The Man that designed them and fabbed them owns an SS. Prices are in the works. For people seriously intrested please PM me.
  2. Mainly because me and zippy have fixed tunes this guy has done before.. and he disapeared when zippy made his presence known here on the forum. But lately.. since zippy is gone he has been showing up a whole lot more and giving advice.. advice is free. But when He PM's someone and sells them a tune it takes away from guys who pay money to support this forum and sell products. If he wants to sell tunes I am all for it the more the merrier... but when I go to other forums and offer knowledge about forced induction I get jumped on for not being a supporting vendor... If you go to PT.net or ls1tech you will see that I have no links in my sig and no advertisement whatsoever for RRW.. why? Beucase those guys jumped down my throat when I tried helping blower guys out. If wait4me wants to help great.. but you have to understand just like I do.. when you help someone on here and give them advice for every 1 guy that reads that thread.. he says hey.. this guy knows how to tune.. maybe I will pay him to do my flash.. its simple buisness. I have no problem with it cause I would do it too. The problem I have is that since Zippy has disapeared from this forum.. he feels no threat and comes back. Since our mods and admins don't police this place the way PT.net is done I figure that I might as well speak up since no one else will. There is a reason that alot of guys don't come to the forum anymore.. and if I were making a list of why.. this would be on it.
  3. Wait4me is a non supporting vendor that does tunes.
  4. These ads friggin suck. Wait till the exhaust is good and warm take a big prybar and crank up on the flanges tward the floor.. what it is.. is the flange from the cat back to the headers is whackin the crossmember.. they aaaaaaallll do it. the only way to fix it is to tweak it up
  5. I want to start a GP on the belanger any intrested parties let me know.
  6. Got a call into them allready today.. I brought up that price to them allready and they said that premier is defintely price gouging there. They are going to look into that and call me back becuase they wanted me to advertise at 1695. So this is crystal clear.. advertise means what I can post not GP.
  7. Hey guys is there serious intrest in doing a Belanger Header GP? If so I will make this happen. They retail at 1795 but I can do a much better price though a GP. PM me or post up on this lets see if we can get this going for anyone intrested.
  8. He doesnt have it publicly for sale ill ask him tonight to get up some pics for you..
  9. Thats how I tune them without a dyno.. seat tuning.. The program he is using defintely is inferior.. find out what it is.
  10. Drop me an email I will explain everything you need to know about HP tuners. [email protected] we will get you goin on the right path here.
  11. yup you are good up to about 9 psi with that pump and injectors.
  12. How are they tuning your truck now??? What software???? Hptuners.com is where you can find it.. and I would defintely not recomend an FMU you need the correct injectors and pump.. Do you know what injectors you have? The FMU is just a temporary fix its not really that reliable.
  13. Consider it sold I can't get the damn fed ex site to work right today cause its a holiday so it didnt want to go though correctly.. PM me your email address for the label and do you want paypal ?
  14. Holy crap. Are you using an FMU? The fuel pump is out of volume defintely.... you should have changed out to an intank 255 lph pump. Do you have access to HP tuners software? I think if you change the pump out and get me the tune we can get you fixed up. I am a little far from you right now to see it in person or help tune in person but I think if you can get me a tune via email we can work on it. You are definltey running it lean. Your altitude is a huge factor especially if you have any kind of addtional fuel management aka an FMU
  15. schweet. I will find out if I can do that and all I would need you to do is actually print the label on your printer at home and stick her to the box and off it would go.. just drop it at any fed ex location. I will find out and let you know Thank you!
  16. Who tuned it? With that kind of pinging I think you are running out of fuel. That is right about where it peaks boost I am guesing.. you might not have enough fuel injector.. what pump are you running? I need a bit more info.... it sounds to me its 2 things tuning and the fuel.
  17. So a quickie oil change and your back on the road then.
  18. Just for grins.. get me measurements on the box and weight.. I can probobly send you a prepaid label though fed ex on my acct and just ship it here direct.
  19. Trick mob drop me a PM how serious are you? I have to work a special deal to do canadian shipping because of the border fees. Drop me a PM let me know if you are real serious.
  20. Your not starting a fight CNE the bottom line is.. the people that own these trucks.. well the group this used to be its changed alot now.. They wanted a reliable performance vehicle... that means go to the track 10 times a year and drive it 10k miles a year without having crap leak or misfire or have to change gaskets once a week... when you spend 30k on a performance truck and you buy stuff to do modifications.. you have to look at it this way.. you modding a 30k$ truck.. not a 1300 $ s10 pickup. There is a certain level or respect a silverado ss commands over any other truck GM has produced. The SS truely has been the king of the hill for GM sport trucks. Basically.. its almost embarassing when you see a guy butcher up one of these trucks and put cheap junk on it in his quest to try and drop a couple tenths in the quarter. It's personal for me thats just my opinion and nothing more.. if you wanted a " go fast truck" then you should have gotten an el strippo short bed short cab fullsize done a 6.0 swap and then do your mods.. you would have alot less into it. You have to see it this way to see it though my eyes.. you have a 6000 lb caddy version of a chevy truck.. yes its still a chevy truck but it has leather it has a body kit and 20 inch wheels.. its effing heavy.... its not a race truck. If you want it to go fast.. just spend the money in the right places. If you buy something cheap and just kina make it work.. a year down the road maybe 2 years maybe 2 weeks.. you will end up fixing it becuase the cheaper part did not stand up like the expensive one. It's no big deal CNE I was just trying to make a point here becuase all of a sudden people on this forum have gotten fairly cheap. Please take no offence to that since it is not directed at you.
  21. I have been noticing allot of guys lately asking questions about exhaust bolt on's cat backs headers.. There is a new flow of people to this forum with the SS trucks getting cheaper you have whole new group of guys coming in. So let’s get some info up here about the most popular mod to our trucks. Headers. Who makes em, Feedback,Prices,Quality. I will start the thread and throw in my two cents but being an active vendor I do not want to seem too bias so please guys chime in with your experience. These are known companies so far off the top of my head Top of the list Belanger ASM TOG (The other guys) Dynatech Edelbrock SLP JBA Pacesetter Bansai OBX Products I have had personal experience with, Include Belanger,ASM,Dynatech and Pacesetter. I listed them in order of what I feel is product quality and durability. Off the top of my head again things to consider from headers I have personally dealt with. Belanger is a set of headers only. True Try-y design creates the most low end torque out of any of the headers I have ever seen while maintains excellent clearance properties. You do need to fab your own head pipes. The headers also come jet coated with traditional 3 bolt flanges. Bar none in my personal opinion the best performing and designed header hands down. ASM again requires you to either mod your head pipes or fab your own. However. A very well designed and durable product and more affordable than the Belanger for average Joe. Dynatech is the king of the hill for advertisement and direct bolt on from engine to cat back boasting stainless steel construction and high flow cats for the price, if you are worried about emissions and just want the grunt and power of a long tube this is where you need to be. Biggest Pet peeve with the Dynatechs is with the stainless your heat transfer is about 100 times faster than a mild steel header that’s uncoated. Stainless is a metal that wicks the heat as fast as it looses it. Problem is with no coating on the header and no additional under hood protection you have yourself a whole lot of hot air under that hood. If you buy them best advice have them coated. Just about everyone that sells them they offer coating. Pacesetter, I have not only installed and worked on several sets of these. But the honest truth is I would never put these on my truck. Pacesetter by far is the least expensive but as far as I am concerned the design and quality reflect that. Especially with the SS trucks the cats are fairly important as to where you are in the country with emissions. The pacesetters not only terminate longer than any of the other headers I have mentioned but they offer no flanges and only a slip connection. They retail anywhere between 250-400 bucks with coating.. sure that’s a budget deal but I compare them to the 79.99 dynomax and black jack headers you could get at super shops back in the 70's and 80's that fit just about anything if you use a sawzall and a hammer and some muffler clamps. The key seller about the pacesetters is the price. They are cheap. I have stated many times you get what you pay for especially true with automotive. One last thing to say about pacesetter.. They do manufacture a huge line of headers.. but if you actually look.. they are mostly for imports.. that to me was the last thing to turn me away. There is allot to be said about headers and their flaws and their good points. I wanted to get a thread going that everyone can reply to and put in their .02 I felt this was important to do with the new influx of members to the forum. On a final note I think everyone should remember when you mod your truck No matter if it is an air filter different oil or just a better wax. There is usually a fairly good reason things cost allot of money. Mostly because they are paying for the extensive work that went into the product.
  22. There is a huge thread on performancetrucks.net about it. They are copies of the OLD dynatech design the plug wire eater. OBX is well known for copying quality stuff and reproducing it with junk from japan or taiwan or somewhere overseas.. they are big with the import crowd. Plus.. the cats.. aren't really cats.. again there is a big thread about it. I am going to just make a comment about headers here.. You get what you pay for. There is a Reason belanger headers are 1500 bucks. There is a reason Dynatechs are 1500 bucks.. Quality construction and design are huge factors in anything that is a performance mod. If you want it good and fast it won't be cheap. If you want it cheap and good it won't come fast. And if you want it Cheap and Fast it will be far from good. I learned that lesson about 15 years ago really early on in building cars..
