  1. Can someone post these over on LS1tech please. I don't have enough posts to start a thread in the for sale section. If they sell over there I'll paypal whoever posts them there ten bucks.
  2. Yeah, only like 1/2 a coil broke off. Luckily I decided to have my heads ported/polished/milled so I found it when I was taking the valves out. I don't know how long it had been like that, but I got VERY lucky. It turns out that the hemi retainers are too small for the LS1 springs. What happened is that the spring was walking around, and then since the retainer was barely on the edge all of the pressure was on that one side and it snapped on the opposite side. Is that a common problem with these springs or what?? And is 130 a fair price?? I looked in my Summit magazine and they were around 185 bucks..
  3. I have a brand new set of the comp 26918 valve springs for sale. I was running these springs in my truck, which was supposed to be ok, but it turns out its not. I broke one last week, and comp stood behind it and sent me a brand new set. I'll let them go for 130 plus shipping. I decided to go with a spring that's specifically designed for the 5.7 hemi.LOL
  4. Damn, that looks like a helluva hole shot. It looked like your truck almost stalled up to 4 grand??
  5. Hey man, see if you can get a clip of the speedo from a takeoff.
  6. Very nice. I'd hate to get lined up beside you at a redlight.
  7. Thanks If chevy would've stuck to there original design of the SSS's I would've got one of them, Regcab, with 6.0 and a 6spd, no power windows, locks, just performance. I just prefer a regcab to a ext. cab.
  8. Is this him??? Be sure and get it on video, I'd really like to see this one.
  9. I found my spec sheet from my cam, Int. lift Exh. lift .528 .531 [email protected] int. exh. 268 272 [email protected] int exh 216 220
  10. 113 LSA If you look at my photobucket account, I have some other videos in cab, and at the track. The link in my first post should take you there.
  11. Here is the best clip I have of my truck with a Comp 268 cam in it. It actually has a pretty rough idle for no more aggresive than it is. Feel free to bash or compliment, I'm pretty thick skinned. http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n56/pro...ndclipwith6.flv
  12. If the leak was causing KR, I realy don't think it would cause 7* of retard. What kind of gas were you running?? How much advance are you running??
  13. It also looks like the KR is killing your mph once your into 3rd gear.
  14. I gotcha... I wasn't trying to persuade you one way or the other. Hell, I own two chevys, one dodge, and one ford. So I'm not brand loyal by any means..LOL
  15. Didn't you run that time at Cecil or Atco?? I also didn't know you ever broke into the 13's in your truck. If your not just flat out tired of your truck.. Wouldn't it be more cost effective to buy one of Sharadon's tranny's, and a STS kit?? There's a few QC 4x4 rams deep in the 12's with that setup. Your looking at about 6-7 grand for that, instead of a whole new truck, and then that much in mods in it to run comparible times..
  16. Thanks everyone. And I'm not running nitrous. I told him that I was cam only when we were in the staging lanes. I need to join over there so we can meet up at the track again when he gets his truck running right.
  17. I went back to the track sunday, and I decided to take my ram and TBSS. The weather was not real good about 82 degrees and about a 5 mph headwind. The DA figured anywhere from 1700-1900'. The only mods on my TBSS are, superchips, and I made a tube that uses the scoop on the front to blow cool air onto the filter. It ran a [email protected]. Here's the video for it.( I love it when people don't know what a TBSS is, if you listen you can hear people laughing cause there's a trailblazer going to run) http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n56/pro...rent=TBSSvs.flv My ram ran a new best of [email protected]. DAC time was [email protected], I really think when the weather cools back off that I'll be able to meet my goal of 12.99 or faster. I ran against a procharged silverado on this run, he was also running stickies. I talked to him a little and he had just put a bigger intercooler on and for some reason his truck wasn't running quite as good as it usually does. If you look in the video you can see it under the front bumper.
  18. I'm very sorry for your loss. The only thing I can do is pray for you and your family. Stay strong man.
  19. That's pretty impressive for a stock truck
  20. Amen. I always try to tell people every vehicle has it's own advantages/disadvantages. If you even out the playing field exactly, everything would run the exact same times. Say if we were to compare a rcsb ram to a rcsb chevy... If the ram was the same weight it would be faster, but if you added displacement to the chevy it would be faster, then throw the same transmission in the ram that's in the chevy and they'll be neck and neck. Same could be said for the ram and SSS. Add weight to the ram and the SS will be faster. Then add displacment to the ram and.... You get what I'm saying..
  21. The LS series engines and the new generation "hemis" are very very similar. It's all about power to weight ratio, a 2wd rcsb ram is going to be pushing 4900-5200 lbs, compared to 4300-4600 for a 2wd rcsb chevy. And yes the dodge trannys suck bigtime. Just for comparison sake, the first time I took my truck to a 1/4 mile track, it ran a 13.89@96. Mods were CAI, longtubes, cutouts, and superchips. Another rcsb ram ran a 14.08 with the same mods except he had no headers, but he had a ramair intake. I've never done any research on chevy trucks but, what does it take to get a rcsb in the 13's?? 12's??? I'm not trying to be a troll, just having a conversation
  22. The 6.1 cam is a horrible truck cam IMO. I don't know the specs off of the top of my head, but it makes no power until 4000-4500 rpm. The reason everyone is using it is because you can buy one new from between 100-150 bucks. Me on other hand paid a little extra and went with the Comp 268 cam, Specs are .528 int, .531 exh. Lift Dur @ .006 268 int, 272 exh Dur @ .050 216 int, 220 exh 113 LSA. Has a fairly rough idle.. http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n56/pro...nt=100_1295.flv The main reason very few people go with bigger cams is because there is no easy way to tune these trucks. Your only two options are to go stand alone or to install a piggyback.
