  1. Its def the tires! Theres a lot of torque management bulls#!+ going on when the computer senses wheel spin. It'll upshift early and back off on the throttle on ya. I got mashed on by a Titan at a red light one day because my TC was turned on. Once the truck got back to full power after the wheelspin stopped, I just ran him down.
  2. My truck shimmies sometimes when I first start it up for the day, but it's 2WD. It's mostly noticeable on cold mornings. I think the tires flat spot overnight and it takes a mile or so for the flat spot to disappear.
  3. I replaced my factory Goodyears at 39K miles. With the GY's, the truck became a plowing pig. The tires had a fair amount of tread left, but the truck would spin at the slightest prodding of the go pedal. In the rain, it was a white-knuckler. Hydroplaning was a huge problem! I switched to General Grabber UHPs and the truck is way more responsive! I upped the size from the stock 275/55/20's to 295/50/20's on the factory 20" wheels. The truck looks much better with the plus sized tires. Now, when I pull into fast moving traffic, I can mash on it without the friggin traction control kicking in and creating a life or death situation.
  4. Looks like bidding has ended - with 0 bids!
  5. Probably this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-S...d=p4506.c0.m245 Add says 505 original miles.
  6. What pisses me off is that I participate in my companies 401k plan and I'm losing my ass with no way to stop the bleeding! Every fund that my co. offers is down for the year!
  7. I've heard that song before, too! I heard it either on one of the Spike Powerblock shows or on one of the Speed Channel shows. I can't remember which one.
  8. Maybe he has a crystal ball and he's foreseeing the future. I know I would love to be able to pull $65k at resale!
  9. Yes, I remember those stickers well. They were on mine too when I bought her. I made the dealer take them off while I was closing the deal on the truck! I take it yours was a Texas Motor Speedway truck too?
  10. I looked at these when I bought my General Grabber UHP's. The Zeon LTZ's were too off-road looking for my taste. You could probably pull it off as a street tire if it weren't for the knobby look of the shoulder lugs.
  11. Driving down the interstate one day, I passed a Mustang GT with VTEC emblems on the doors.
  12. Where are the body mount insulators located? How difficult are they to change?
  13. Sounds like the dreaded intermediate steering shaft. Do you have a clunking/thumping sound coming through the steering wheel?
  14. Not sure if my problem is the same as yours. Did your front end make a popping noise when you turned left or right? I mean, it makes sense that these insulators could be the problem, but the sound seems to emmanate from the front suspension. I guess its all in the same general area?! I have a friend with an Avalanche that is having the same problem. Is this something that can be done in the driveway? I'm not gonna pay the dealer a ton of money if it's something that I can do myself.
  15. Nah, I had the new style steering shaft installed under warranty. This sound is definitely coming from the front end. The pop only occurs when I'm turning. I'm gonna dig through my paperwork and see if I can turn over the work order. Seems like there were some bushings or washers in the front end that were replaced under warranty.
  16. Anyone had a popping noise coming from their front end while turning? I had this problem before and it was fixed under warranty. It's back again and now I'm out of warranty. I can't find the work order that I got from the first repair, but would like to try to fix it myself. I don't remember what they replaced to correct the problem and am hoping someone else has had this prob and can point me to the right part for the fix.
  17. That sux! I hate f'n people who choose not to get involved. If I witness something like that, you can bet your arse that I would, at the least, make a note of the plates to give to the owner/police. Several years ago, another truck I owned got egged while sitting in the driveway in front of my house. I didn't find out until a few years later, from a neighbor, that it was a punk kid that lived a couple of houses down from us. They got hit as well. The punk kids family had since moved out. The neighbors that told me had caught him egging their truck and confronted the boy and his mother. The mother blew up on the neighbor and said "you can't prove it" and told the neighbor to get off of her property and slammed the door in her face. It's probably a good thing that I didn't find out he did it at the time. I would've probably ended up in jail!
  18. I reset my avg fuel economy gauge and compared it after driving approx. 500 miles. It was dead on my calculations at 16.3 MPG. A lot of my driving was highway. That was with a Kawasaki KFX 700, a kids ATV, two adults and the kid, both of my dogs and all of our luggage/road trip crap and with the AC blowing all the way! My city average is always around 14.8-15 MPG.
  19. Silverado Corsa clips from YouTube: And this one on a cammed 'vette that gives me a woody every time I watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZPBRjcDN4Y
  20. Damn, you must be mashin' on it pretty hard already! I get about 15 mpg combo driving, running the AC most of the time.
  21. So sad! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080809/ap_on_...obit_bernie_mac
  22. Checked my new General Grabber UHP's and found three are stamped 2905 and one 1605. New tires are already 3 years old!
  23. It's probably your PCM relearning after being reset following the programming changes your tuner made. Back when I used to run a Superchips programmer (I know, they suck!) on my truck, for the first couple of days, it would shift like stock at part throttle. But after a couple of days passed, the shifts got progressively harder and harder at part throttle as the computer relearned from the baseline programming.
  24. Sounds like you got yourself a ground problem. If one of your amps has lost its ground, it could be grounding through the coax cable and causing these weird things to happen. I would start there first.
