  1. So I had just gotten done emailing my tuner getting ready for him to write up my tune and was going to send him an ECU for a core charge. So I turn left off the main road down this long straight away 3 lane road and see a tan/ pewter SRT 10 Single Cab ram going in the same direction just ahead of me but were heading towards a light that is ALWAYS green but just so happened to turn red. So I pull up expecting to get my A$$ handed to me by this monster of a truck, talk to the guy real quick and he agrees to run on green. He said it was stock 6spd. So the light goes green and it sorta caught me off guard (didnt even get to stall up) and I took off and heard him spinning behind me. He was about a truck back through 1st gear into 2nd and I could just feel him creeping up on me. I looked at the spedo when he was passing me and I was at 70mph. We ran till about 85-90 and he had me by 2-3 trucks and I let off.

I was honestly suprised and very proud of the SS because I put the K&N back to stock due to MAF problem so my only mods were exh, sk, and vette servo. Too bad I didnt have my tune and K&N in, I know I still woulda lost but might have held him off longer. All in all I was pretty pleased, and the guy knew how to drive the 6spd so I know it wasnt driver error. Cant wait to get more mods!!!!

  2. OK well, my neighbor just got his set from a friend for pretty cheap and they seem to be decent quality. As far as DRL's.....GAY!! Everytime I get i nthe truck during the day, I turn them off especially cause they shine through my blackout covers which defeats the purpose.

I have never noticed if the DRLS are on while the headlights are on at the same time, but from the looks of your pics, I guess they are. Now are they only on because your in Park or do they disable automaticlly when your headlights are on and you pull out of park? If they dont go away by themselves, do you guys disable them ?

  3. Well, my brother just picked up a TBSS and I really like it. Serious power with the avalibility to haul 2 kids in car seats and groceries. The TBSS gets my vote, however the Sierra Denali is VERY nice. Either way you choose, you cant go wrong. BTW he picked it up for 23k with 21k miles on 06 fully loaded so its not a bad price either.

  4. Damn man, everytime I see threads like this , it makes me regret not signing when I was originally going to.

Best of luck to you in all your training and being a corpsman (having emergency medical experience) can help you out when you try to find a civilian job if you wish in MANY fields.

Good Luck at "The Great Mistakes" (as a friend called it)

  5. Well, wanted to see how many of you insomniacs are still up browsing the forums. I'm usually waking up in 2 hrs to go to work but I 've been cramming for my Paramedic Final and the final pot of coffee is empty.

Who else is up at these hours? And no, you guys who see this at 5 am that are waking up dont count. Damn I'm gonna love some quality sleeping time after I take my final tomorrow. Too bad I have my final from 7pm to 10pm then go to work at 530. I love my schedule LOL

  6. Its a beautiful thing, a man and his garage with his toys. I noticed the miller lite pack on top of the cooler, many a nights in the same posistion out in the garage with a wrench and a beer just trying to make your ride faster and faster then fixing what you broke. Nice olds man, gotta teach these young punks about 70's muscle in their rice rockets.

  7. I believe MOST of the guys on here have gone with Danny's work (sprayed 99) which is phenominal. There are also some guys who have said something about Jons tinted tails. IMO, dont do the nite shade can , I'd say have them professionally done by Danny..you have seen his work and it is truly amazing, the man makes the tailights look like a damn mirror with that reflection. The nite shade might come out ok but if you mess up, you might need another set of tails. Some guys who do them themselves vary i nthe methods they use. Some guys take em to a booth and get em done and some do them on the newspaper in their yard. You can tell the difference.

  8. Ok, so over the years of me being a member and now an owner, I have read alot of threads and had my own personal experience with tranny problems in my SS. Now I am wanting to compile a list of people who have had work done to their tranny or had issues with it to just get an idea of how many of us has this happened to.

List what it was that broke or caused a problem ie: clutch packs, torque converter, slipping

How much did it cost you to fix it/ rebuild it

How did you improve your tranny after? What kind of mods to strengthen it : Shift kit etc

    How did you notice it

AND anything else that might contribute to the thread.

I'll start. I felt a slight slipping from my tranny when taking a corner and knew I had a very small tranny leak and was actually on the way to have it taken care of/ Shift kit installed when I heard a POP and saw smoke like crazy behind me. Pulled over to find the tranny pan just pouring ATF all over the exhaust causing a TON of smoke !!! Truck leaked out all of the fluid in the middle of a 2 mile road with no shoulder/grass and ALWAYS busy with traffic in a 50mph zone. So I coasted about 1/2 a mile going 20mph with the flashers on till I came to a stop. Found out that it was my tranny seal that broke causing the leak and eventually burning up the tranny which led it to be rebuilt.

Had the tranny rebuilt and added a Transgo HD2 shift kit w/ vette servo, metal accumulator and metal seperator plate. Cost THE WARRANTEE company $1895 and NOT A DIME FROM MY WALLET!!!!!

Lets hear your storys, I know you guys got em

  9. glimmerglassdetailing.com has everything you will need wit han explanation of what each product does.

I'd say you need a microfiber wash mit( prevents scratching) use a 2 bucket method 1 bucket soap & 1 bucket to dunk the mitt in after applying the soap onto the vehicle to prevent scratching again. Claybar to remove trapped dirt and maybe some Nattys wax.

Look on the site and read up. Also use the search button and try and find other threads like yours which have good info.

  10. Thanks for the compliments guys. I really like the way the rims look on the truck as well, cant beat the look of American Racings for a price of $600 for the rims and tires LOL.

SS Silvy, I havent waxed it in a while. Thats where being SUPER anal and washing your truck every week pays off. I have noticed that the soap I use really brings out the shine. Its Armorall Wash&wax formula in the orange bottle. When I do wax, I use a Nattys Blue wax and a Red Moose Glaze polish which REALLY brings out the deep black color.

The Aston Martin was another customers who was waiting for his car to be delivered to him and just happened to be on the same truck that was transporting my bros supra. There was also a Mercedes Mcclarren (sp) on there that was picked up in Miami and the transporter let me take some pics of it.

Again, thanks for the compliments guys!

  11. BTW, I just watched that clip from the daily show and about fell outa my chair when he was acting as that hippie LOLOLOL. Also, I never would have though that reporter was a veteran of thr USMC. Total BS when those scumbags were outside protesting what marines fight for everyday. Thank God for our servicemen and women. Heres to our troops. :flag:

  12. Haha, oh boy..well, I admit ..I drive mine like a grandma..not even a grandpa..a GRANDMA. I usually do the speed limit cause Departments down here make you go through a VERY VERY thorough driving history test and records over the 5 years prior to you being hired which is very important. Every once and a while when the road is open I will stab it but never anything over 60 on a road. I just dont see the need to drive like a maniac wherever I go. If you have to drive that fast to get somewhere, leave earlier.

  13. Hey man, thats a very admirable job. I have looked into that field as well. I was all ready to join up USMC after fire academy and become a Crash Fire Rescue Specalist. Now I'm in Paramedics and as soon as I complete it I will be looking into reservist posistion of a corspman. Do you have any experience in the field...I'm sure it would help but if not, they'll train you according to their standards. Best of Luck to you man.
