I personally think Dire Straits was a great band and didnt get enough spotlight except for their music video of Money For Nothin.I actually just spun my dads LP of Dire Straits "Tunnel Of Love" thats pullin out some good ones right there. 2. HAHA, PDB ...I love it. Mine is SSSmoke Eater for 2 reasons. Smoke Eater is another name for a firefighter and since I own a Silverado SS or SSS I decided to stick that on the front of it.

My nickname through H/S was Rabbit and is still my member name on some other forums. That ones a long story so I'll try and shorten it up. In HS I was bangin this broad at a concert with the windows cracked open and my friends drinkin on the tailgate. Obviously everyone knew what was going on and when she got out, one of our friends said..damn..you guys F**K like Rabbits. After that, the name stuck with me and my friends still call me rabbit to this day. We thought about this after I recieved my nickname and it also helps that I have big ears which is funny.

  3. That my kind of music. .38 Special is one of my favs. I like "Southern Rock" like Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet, and of course Skynard. I also listen to some country, but mostly stuff from the late 70s thru the early 80s.

I took my old man to a Hatchet concert last summer when they were in town with Blackfoot. I can honestly say, that was one of the best and by far, the LOUDEST concert I have ever been to. I'm going to the CDB / .38 special concert in April when they come down here. Seen syknyrd 3 times and a bunch of other Southern Rockers. Love the music.

  4. Yep, happened to the set I bought before I got my SS. I guess the owner of the rims didnt notice the fact that wheel cleaner and those center caps didnt seem to be friends and really F*d em up. On my SS they were already a little coroded when I bought it. Moral of the story is..dont use a wheel cleaner on your stock SS centercaps.

  5. J.R. I dont have a problem with you lifting it, it will be unique for sure but I was just stating that alot of members think the other way. Personally, I love lifted trucks and almost lifted my 00 silverado before I bought this. I personally would not lift a SS but then again, its not my vehicle. If you do decide to go through with it, post up some pictures, who knows..maybe you'll be the guy that starts the new trend.

Anyways, best of luck to you if you decide to do it.

  6. looks like you found the lug nuts you needed, now your truck looks like mine :banghead:

Honestly, I saw your pics and was like DAMN that looks good. Just so happens that there was a guy selling the rims/tires and I jumped on em. Hopefully I'll be throwin some more mods on mine to make it stand out from yours.

Looks good the only thing besides lowering i would change is I'd be riding on 305/40/22's the 45's side wall just looks too tall IMO

Well Brad, it was a rim/tire combo I bought off a guy locally for a good price and thats what they came with. Its like that old saying, "Beggers cant be choosers" I'm happy with it except for it being in need of a drop.

  7. Well, picked these up this weekend and mounted em last night. Rims are American Racing RTS 22" chrome and tires are Nitto 420S 305/45/22. Right now I'm not sure if I like the size of the rims, still deciding if they are too large for me or not. Anyways, heres the pics.

P.S. I drove in the rain the other day and havent had time to wash it so it is dirty.

I'll be getting more this weekend in a better setting and when its clean but just wanted to show you guys what it looks like.

  8. Wow man, AMAZING work, I dont think I've ever seen an SS with that kind of shine. Really incredible work you do man. As for people asking the displacement of the SS, aparently they didnt think to look a tthe stripes on the side. Its ok, because all of us on the forums know the displacement...its a 4.6 right? LOL

  9. I just looked up the specs on the stock 2007 BMW 335i Twin Turbo. I knew they were fast cause I had a run in with one in my old 5.3 and I got DUSTED...I'd taken down the 330s once or twice before so I thought this was the same car. Sure as hell wasnt the same car. That thing pulled me off the line and had BUSLENGTHS on me.

Heres the specs from BMW site: Our 335i similarly scalded the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds at 105.9 mph. For comparison, our 2005 M3 Competition Package used up 5.5 seconds getting to 60 and finished the quarter-mile in 13.7 seconds at 105.4 mph — close, but still a rearview-mirror performance. We almost beat the all-powerful 2007 Audi RS4, too. Despite a 120-horsepower advantage and all-wheel-drive launch superiority, it just nicked our 335i's 0-60 and quarter-mile times by a paltry 0.1 second each.

There can be no doubt that BMW's new twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-6 engine, complete with direct injection and a high 10.2:1 compression ratio, is impressive. Two smaller snails were assigned to only three cylinders each so they'd spin up faster, reducing lag and increasing torque at low engine speeds. Boy, does it work, as this beastie is rated at 300 hp at 5,800 rpm and 300 pound-feet of torque spreading from 1,400-5,000 rpm. In a rear-drive coupe weighing in at 3,579 as-tested pounds, that sounds about right — for 5.5-second 0-60 bursts, that is.

Anyone ever ran into one of these on the street, if so, howd you do. Going from BMW's info, unless you were a low 13 sec truck, you would probably get beat.
