First things first, get the truck scanned and see if the same code was tripped..... If it is a P0300, slide under the truck while it is cold and wrap on both cats with a closed fist. If you hear a rattle, that means the cat is coming apart internally. I forgot to ask, how many miles on the truck??
-
A couple of things..... The code disappeared because you disconnected the battery to replace it. Anytime the battery is disconnected, the temporary memory is lost from the PCM. This is why your truck is idling like poo after installing the new battery. The PCM has to start learning how you drive and how all of your trucks parts work together from scratch. Several drive cycles and roughly 100 or so miles and things should smooth out. Yes, the preventative maintenance items mentioned are good, especially a TB and MAF service, but more often then not with these trucks, a P0300 random misfire code usually signifies that a cat has begun to degrade, and is beginning to effect your trucks performance. Since the CEL has not come back on, I wouldn't worry about it unless the code pops back up. Keep us posted.

The LED units already have a flasher module in corporated into them. All you need to give them is power from a 12v source, no independent power supply is needed like with old fashioned strobes. Along with the site listed in the previous post, this one has fast service and competitive pricing also.... www.sirennet.com

I know, these were installed on my last Tahoe.....they are still pretty bright.
-
Thanks for the instructions. They really aren't even strobes, they are Whelen Vertex LED hideaways. It is virtually impossible to get in this general area with a drill and hole saw with the light assembly in the front bumper, needs to come out.
-
Does anybody have knowledge or insight on how the factory fog light assemblies get removed from the OE front bumper on an 07+ NBS Tahoe? I am trying to figure out how to remove them so that I can install hideaway strobe packs. When I pull the fender liner off and look at its mounting point, all I see is a plastic ring with a bunch of odd looking plastic clips attached to it. Anyone know? Thanks!

It was Cheri"s elderly great Aunt, she went to the doctor earlier in the week because she wasn't feeling well, and never made in the front door. She collapsed in the parking lot and couldn't be revived.... On a side note, track times! Videos! Let's see them!!! -

Good news and bad news gents.....first, the good news; I was able to get Saturday off. Next, the bad news; we had a death in the family yesterday, and the funeral is on Saturday. I wish I could be there, some has to film Eddie's runs..... -

I'm supposed to work that day, trying to get the day off. -
Doesn't sound like a bad head or head gaskets to me, sounds more like a spun bearing....
-
The only thing that you need a Tech 2 to bleed is the ABS pump, which shouldn't be necessary if you are just replacing the calipers. The normal way of bleeding the brakes using the caliper bleeders should be fine....

Don't give up hope in her!

Make sure to use OE style gaskets.....

Sounds like a broken input or output shaft to me.....

CAM PROBLEMS need some input please
Fireman31 replied to Badbowtie247's topic in Engine Tech And Modification
Be careful, some of the later LQ9's do not have those holes under the cam plate to use for the dowel rods, my truck didn't when we pulled my cam..... -
