Sad to see another original owner SS go.
What made you decide it was time? I'll be detailing mine here soon and parking it for winter storage in the garage, covered up of course. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing more harm then good to my SS for not putting more then 600 miles a year on it. But then when I get into the drivers seat and turn the key and pull that thing out of the garage, I have a smile bigger then my butt.
I was just discussing with a friend yesterday if I should sell mine but I don't think I could.
Agreed, I thought of letting her go when we were house shopping last year for extra money, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. She has her very own garage now, the house we bought was owned by a drag racer and auto body tech. Every time I start her up, she puts a smile on my face. So what if I only put 1100 miles on her in the last year, that just means she is that much cleaner! I can tell you for certain that she isn't going anywhere. Anyone who is like me, and I know several of you, know it is a labor of love. These trucks are deep rooted in our souls for some reason, they are a part of us. It makes me happy when I hear someone say they have no intentions of selling their SS. I know I'm not alone....
Sorry to see her go Shuan

Just PMed you back....

Tow Haul mode modifies shift points to points of peak torque in each gear if I recall correctly.
Dave I just PMed you.....

There isn't a seal at that location, the axle tube is press fit into the center section and plug welded. Welding it completely may distort the tube causing further issues. The simplest solution may be to clean the joint up with a wire brush and some brake cleaner, then seal it with some black RTV......

Couple ??'s as I am thinking of doing a converter also along with shift kit and servos! Get it all done at the same time.
What's the stock stall?
What "caught you off guard" & how was it different?
I still want to be able to tow a car if I want to. I was thinking 2600-2800. Will 3k be too much to tow?
I have cat back & CAI now, getting long tubes, thinking off 1.8 rockers & 42lb injectors over the winter or spring.
cam & lifters down the road.
How do the mods sound?
I Don't have any experience modding these engines or trans so your opinions are greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
Dave, I'm gonna PM you my phone number, let's shoot the breeze about this stuff this week....

Any history of accidents or axle damage in the rear of the truck?

As we all know, today marks the 13th anniversary of the attacks on our
nation. Today I ask all my fellow members here on SSS.com to take a
moment of silence to reflect on our 3,093 fellow Americans who lost
their lives that horrific day over one decade ago, those who have lost their lives to disease since, and to reflect on our
troops for all they have sacrificed to keep the United States safe from
terrorism. Let's keep our troops in our prayers and let's never forget
September 11, 2001.

What brand of headers are they?

Doesn't look good for me John, my father in law is finally supposed to be helping me tile the bathroom I gutted 8 months ago, it's apparently the only weekend he was free....

Mobil 1 75w-90 already has the friction modifiers right from the get go, no additive needed.

Do you think it makes a noticeable difference. I've read write ups from people who have dyno'd both on NA motors, and the results were negligible. I can't say for sure though bc I have done the testing myself....which is why I ask.
There was a member here who will remain unnamed who went with ARH 1-7/8" LT's and a full dual 3" exhaust and lost 3/10 of a second in the 1/4 mile....
-
Again, unless you ate going FI or big cubes, 1-7/8" primaries are over kill. An LQ9 with a mild cam will lose torque on the low end. Add Dynatech to your list also.....
-
1-7/8" primaries are over kill with the current mods in your sig, 1-3/4" primaries would be plenty. What are your future goals? This will dictate your choice also...
