Stay away from Performabroke, trust me. You'll be better off with an FLT and a PI or Circle D converter.....

Dynatechs fit well, many here have them. They are a true bolt on with zero fabrication needed...

Welcome back! Thank you for your service.
The factory 145 amp alternator is a DR44G, all you should need for the upgrade is a new 93" belt. Get in touch with Steve, Silverado777 a.k.a. GM Gauge Guy, he can get your cluster back up to new condition for a fraction of what the dealer would charge.

Stay away from TCI

I have one, Long Island NY.

Make sure that the guage cluster is functioning properly as the stepper motors are a known problem, and also check to make sure it doesn't have the ever so common steering shaft clunk when turning. These are some very common problems that you may not notice now, but will seriously annoy you in time.....

Whichever bolts you decide to use, make sure to use anti-seize compound on the threads when installing them...

If you can find someone with logging software, that would be the next step, this way you can pinpoint whether it is in the tune or it is electrical/mechanical. ....

Did you pin your crank?

Check your brakes too, sounds to me like brake drag from a warped rotor, worn pads, or sticking slides.....
Starting issue when warm

To the OP, if you have tried the FPR, next step is most likely the fuel pump. What year is your SS? How many miles? If it's an '03, try replacing the fuel filter first before going to the pump....
