LUVINMYSS
I got a polished bowtie for Christmas from my brother and I'm not sure how to install it (no directions) . How is the factory bowtie installed and once it is removed, will there be holes for the aftermarket bowtie to bolt right in? Doug
GEAR M UP
If I remember, you take of the plastic cover and you can get to the speed nuts that hold the bow-tie on....

Pull on both ends of the bar that runs between the headlights and running lights. They are clips. Pop right in and out. This removes the entire grill. The bowtie has two compression clips. The new bowtie bolts right in. You should have washers and bolts with the bowtie.
LUVINMYSS
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking forward to getting a shopman1 bowtie soon so this one will have to do for now. I had to buy the ARE LSII for a Christmas trip. Mods have to come in stages with my wife . Doug
stevebbb
If anyone is wanting a shopman bow tie, better get one soon. He told me he is going to sell what he has and then quit making them.
shopman1
This is the scoop - my C&C Shop has increased my cost so high that it will not pay to do the extra work to make the SS Bowtie's. I have about 20 left and will sell them with color. I am looking for another C&C Shop that can help me. But your correct, it may be then end. It's interesting, the C&C shop that was supplying me is now making and selling them as well however they don't look to be polished very well! Anyway - stay tunned, its not over until its over! mwarren
I put my shopman bowtie on without removing the cover over the radiator. It was kind of rough on the hands but it worked for me.
LUVINMYSS
Removing the cover wasn't bad, but the Billet Bowtie I have doesn't fit. Now that Shopman1 may be out of commision for a while, I better hurry up and purchase one of his few remaining.
SPEEDCRAVIN
I just slipped my small hands though the hood latch hole. JOSH

I go to Linn State Tech College here in Missouri and they have a shop for the students to learn so what would it take to get a copy of the autocad drawings for the bowtie. Thanks Cobb
ChevySSandChevy8.1
I took off the whole the whole grill, took off the radiator cover, gently pull on the grill and the grill comes out, its held by I think 6 clips in total. Not too bad, then just unscrew the old bowtie and put on the new one.

Lefty
PM shopman for details. If he has any left he will give you payment details and presto, a week later you will receive your very own Shopman SS bowtie in the mail.
