cmoney23
I know our trucks say to use premium gas, but does it really make a difference in the long run? Just wondering what everyone's using. Edited February 12, 2012 by cmoney23 (see edit history)
canadianVRss
Regular, but regular in my small town is 90.

70chevy03ss
Unless you get a tune you should run 93 octane. Your truck won't run right with anything else
Ruben525
Chevron
90zxdriver
Sunoco 93 whenever I can, 93 in any other brand when I can't get to Sunoco.
Vaquero
I run 91, we don't really have 93 around here or I would use that. with the higher compression ratio I would say yes you should run premium.
northernss
I run chevron 94 octane here. No ethanol in it and it's wat my tune is set up for
Miller812
91 is the highest we have here but when i get a chance to run 93 i do. dont skimp out. run the right stuff...
T-Bag
Chevron 91 this one
Blown 346
I use 90 or 91 octane depending on what my option is. GM calls for 93 as the truck will perform best with it and your gas mileage will be at its best. If tested this theory. My gas mileage is worse with anything other than 93. Basically power, mileage goes in the crapper the lower octane you choose.
Fireman31
10.08:1 compression + 87 octane = knock, ping, detonation, loss of power, loss of fuel mileage Do yourself and your truck a favor and run the proper grade of fuel, running 87 saves you nothing. GM recommends 91 octane or higher for a reason.....

GM recommends 91 octane or higher for a reason..... 91 or 93 is only 10 cents more and like explained GM only recomends those grades gasoline, dont see the use in possibly wrecking your engine on 87 over 10 cents less per gallon. Ive come across 92 when my light was on empty and still drove another 5 miles just to get Sunoco 93. Only Shell 93, Sunoco 93 or Mobil 93 used. I wish we had 94 available here.... timflury
I only ran super. Figure a .10 cent difference/gallon and a 25 gallon tank would be a whopping $2.50 MAXIMUM savings. Less of a savings if you're not even running it down to "low fuel".
stg313
I only run 93 also. If i pull into a gas station with only 91 or 92 I usually drive up to the next station. I love Sunoco gas.
