  1. I personally like the riding position of the BRP sleds. The 800 HO motor should be close in power and fuel mileage of the Yammy four stroker but a lot less weight. The rotax two stoke would be a lot cheaper to repair if problems did appear compared to the four stroke.

Jus sold my 05, renegade 800. I loved it! mountains and cross country, was equally good. I would plan on changing out the 1 1/4 track.

  2. I really just bought it for a daily driver and plan to pull my 79 Camaro with it when we take it to the strip

I Did that too, Now My daily Driver will blow away my hot rod. :dunno: (U get to that piont pretty quick, lol)

    BTW~ The red looks hot.

  3. I work on Duramax pick ups on the arctic slope, they never shut off, when the pipeline work is booming.

Are service schedual is every 300hrs. we pay no attention to miles.

I read somthing from Ford once, they say every engine Idle hour, is equivilent to 30mi on the engine.

Your engine will Wear out much sooner, Valve guides, ring's, etc. (we have vehicles with 50k that will burn a quart a day.?

    Hope that helps?

  4. well I dont mind when folks put an SS badge on something thats not. People have been doing it for years with Camaro's, Chevelle's, etc.

I'd say go ahead with making the new style SS bowtie, whos it gonna hurt?

:withstupid:Case in Point, Look at this month's truck of the Month.

What if the 08 has a vortec max engine, What if the owner added aftermarket product's and he or she feels in ther mind that there truck is "super sporty".

  5. 1st: If you have any water inside your air box, Fair Bet, that is the problem. (Should be ZERO water inside.)

2nd: You stated to me that you had a VOLANT cold air box., there are two styles, one with the ram air tube. the other has no ram air tube. (you need to check under your air box for a black plastic tube running to the bottom of your bumper) If you have that tube, that is the "Ram Air Tube"

"Ram Air Tube" + "Rain" = "Wet Filter", (chocking your motor, causing above conditions.)

3rd: If you have it, see what the "VOLANT guys are doing to remedy that problem".

    Hope that helps,

    ~Danny

  6. What about for AWD?

My Belltech kit was Confusing for my AWD, I didn't use the shim's. I figured I brought the back of the leaf pack up 2in w/ a shackle and the front up 2in with the hanger, so pinion angle should be same?

    No vibrations yet? :dunno:

  7. Hey, Great question! I am currently in this Position as well with my non-intercooled Vortech.

Call Snow performance Directly, they were very helpful to me.

Also Vortech sells an Intercooler kit for like $1800-2200 depending where you pruchase it. I am sure that one would prolly not need much to make it work. Check out Vortech's web site, search AFTERCOOLER for chevy truck.

BTW, I have found all the Peices on EBay, and Makeing your own air to water intercooler kit would be far cheaper!

  9. 3m Clear bra all the way!

I think the bra's are just for look's (yes people out there actually like the look of Bra's :dunno: )LOL

I have Never seen a bra come off without damaged paint underneath.

Clearly BigRed1 like's the looks, as you can tell from the summer pics he posted w/ the chicks hangin off the '88' IROK.

Claer Bra's can turn Yellowish after awhile though too?

  10. My truck sit's levels with lowering shackles., Do both the shackle's look to be laying at the same angle?

Did you leave the shackles a little loose, when the truck was on the stands, set the truck down and bounce the rear bumper to settle it, then tourque to spec? May help.

theres alot of people with shackles and rear end sitting level.

  11. Ohh, sorry I must of missed somthing in your post I thought you were asking how the high stall was, Yeh, I like mine too. some of these post are so close you get kinda mixed up, LOL

Anyway, yesterday, 12/28/2007, after I replied about the truck feeling faster, I used my G-Tech to see what was really going on.

(*I am not saying G-tech's are accurate, but I do use mine for a basline for tunning and modification and it is fairly accurate for comparison, IMO)

    So, Per the G-tech, my truck ran a 13.37 in the 1/4 @ 102.2, and 0-60 in 4.68 w/ tire spin.

    My stock Vortech Blown set-up, Ran, 13.89 in the 1/4 @ 102. and 0-60 in 5.20 w/o tire spin.

So, yeh it is definately faster. ( note: the stock set-up did not have a high stall )

  12. It would be nice if you had another vehicle to buy you some more time to re-search this engine build,

But, I can give you my set-up and Opinion wich may be helpful?

    I'm running a 408ci, with CNC ported LS6 heads, (243'),(Z06 heads) and a 2002 z06 cam.and 42 lbs injectors.

*heads are about $900 per head

I am at 9:1 compression, cause I usually run a blower, (wich I am not running currently)

this head and cam combo Idle sweet, drives fine and has Tones of power! My truck feels way faster non-supercharged 408 w/low compression, then the stock Lq9 with vortech blower.

BTW, I have a TCI 3000rpm stall, and I think it is a bit big for a DD, especially if you lived in a big city! (IMO) you have to use both brake and gas, and pepper the throttle to get it movin slow,(tight parking spot will drive ya nut's, LOL

any way, here are some Dyno #s per SA Desings.:

6.0 liter, 10.362:1 Compression, Shorty headers, stock air cleaner housing,w/water pump, no Alternator or power steering, LS6 Heads and Cam, 94 octane fuel.

    401hp @ 5700 rpm.

    407ftlbs @ 4600 rpm.

the heads are pretty impressive from everthing I have read, May be worth lookin into?

    ~Danny

  13. Just a note:

When my Supercharged SS, did what your's did, I had piston chunks all the way up to the throttle body.

I would say if it is on top off your valves it is prolly in your blower? Did you pull it off and shake it, turn it over by hand? hear or feal anything?

BTW: I returned my truck to stock and tried to claim warrenty.

first denied because it was "abuse" they said. ( Over rev, flooring it, etc.)

the best quote was, and I swear to god on this, I couldn't make it up!

"You have been Jumping this truck!" I honselty have never jumped my lowered all wheel drive truck, LOL

they said cause both front axle's were twisted that was the only way that could happen.

Any Way I pushed the Issue on the Motor, and they sent out and adjuster and he took pics of my Vacuum line for my boost guage that I left under the dash zip tied out of the way, and the In-Line Booster fuel pump that I left installed.

Then the new reason was "Vehicle not at factory spec".The worst part was I had to pay $1300 for Diagnosis to get my truck back still blowed the F up!

So, be thurow, stick to your story and Good Luck!

    ~Danny
