1. Do you know what the over all length was/is? Clear the bumper well with enough of "shine" still showing? And sorry guys apparently I put this in the wrong forum originally....I just didn't see just swapping the tips to anything related to performance, haha.
2. the 305/50-20 is 31.5 overall and pretty close to the stock wheel. The major problem is OVERALL height, but I am sure that the added weight mixed with the slight difference is something that I would want to limit to emergency driving of around 50 miles. Over that and you are probably straining things. I know that when a 65% stock worn tire is set beside a new 305/50....it's a pretty noticeable difference, more than I would want to throw on and drive 100 miles.
3.

Do you have a pic of these from directly behind the truck at a slightly greater distance? Also information on locating some? I am still leaning towards the quad look, but this is interesting and what I originally wanted (similar to the front brake ducts). Thanks guys

oval tips.
6. Wassup guys, currently I have dual 3" pipes coming from the rear of the truck and IMHO it looks a little wimpy. This is an image from my truck that I did in paint (be gentle). My estimate is that these are widened to 4- 4 1/2" ovals and are dual on each side (quad piped) Has anyone done this? And my major question is...has anyone seen any exhaust companies offering oval pipes that will work on a truck...as my estimate is that the tips need to be approximately 8-10" in length and the about 12" overall. Thanks guys.....and of course, do you like the idea or hate it? here is another option as I have found these tips...they are 6" wide and 4.25" tall...I personally like the quad set up better I think.

new exhaust idea.
8. Shopman1's bowtie's are GREAT. He is also a very nice guy with awesome customer service.
9. If it's all wheel drive, the overall tire diameter needs to match....I ran into this when I wanted to swap to the 305's. running the spare shouldn't hurt anything as long as it doesn't have a lot more tread.
10. Just be sure to flip the "55" to "SS", lmao.....that just looks "special". Other than that....awesome truck.
11. The law in NC states that an officer has the right to make the owner of the vehicle remove the blue lights from the vehicle. It is just the way it is written...I didn't write it, so I dunno. But if you refused you could be arrested...and then the vehicle towed to our impound lot essentially seized, part of your release would be to most liey remove the equipment or stay till the court date. Best explaination i have without actually typing the G.S. for the charge. This include those little windshield wiper sprayer light things. BTW, you can HAVE blue lights....just not in use on the highway. Car shows and such, sure run em...there is no violation. The violation is in using them upon the highway.....
12. I respectfully disagree, you may think your blue led's are minor; however, it may be your minor LED's that lead to the guy's truck down the street having a full strobe system eventually leading to him playing cop in your neighborhood. And why is it that you think it is a solution to sue?? What was done wrong? who infringed on your rights? Why should YOU be allowed to have them, not trying to start an argument, but please reflect on the entire situation....A). You do not have blue lights B). If you did you would be given the opportunity to uninstall them over going to jail. If you refused I would impound the vehicle until the problem was corrected. Suing really pisses me off, every dope dealer on the corner and criminal in your back yard say the same thing. Just FYI, no matter how mundane the stop....is the possibility to prevent a potential crime. Do you realize that nearly every serial killer throughout history has been apprehended off a traffic violation? And still quite curious....what the crap would you be suing for....I am still attempting to comprehend what everyone that has a similar situation sue us for???? Please help me understand (this is a sincere question)....because it reallllllllly pisses me off when I hear it.
13. Actually in NC it is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE...it is actually arrestable. I'm not flexing, but with that attitude...I would absolutely hook you up in a heartbeat and smile the entire time. The original poster of the thread actually lives in NC, therefore he'll have to follow NC Laws---which I figured was in his best interest to know. You live in Florida, therefore you follow Florida laws. I would like to think that you would never speak to police officer like that and not think that he couldn't/wouldn't make an example out of you....because there a lot of other finely printed charges that could be arrested for, lol.
14. I bought my 05 with 31,500 miles for 16,500.00 now that was with a connection....buuuut basically you get the picture. I think you could do slightly better on the price. G/L with the search and wait for the right one.
15. There's just a law banning blue...red is ok....I like green on black. There is supposed to be a law against bulbs showing...however, I haven't found it. I am also pretty sure they shouldn't flash....other than that you should be A-OK. You could do the flex tape in the lower valance, too. That would bring it all together. If you were considering changing the color you could put your blue neons inside the cab under that dash to illuminate the floor.
16. Wow, I was just curiously browsing and stumbled into a yellow jacket nest, lol. I happen to like my uppity-ness and my red truck, lol.
17. Just in NC, a couple guys I know from Jacksonville will stop you eventually. Hiding the bulbs will make you a lot less likely to get pulled...the bulb draws more attention. If you have anything on your truck related to the military, some of our guys are much more relaxed. To be perfectly honest, you'll actually just need to hit the right officer at the right time. I don't stop every vehicle with a burned out tail lamp----it would be impossible. Think of it this way, I hate/hated to get pulled when I was younger in my Dodge Stealth. However I drew a lot of attention to myself (Car Club decals, performance mods listed, 245/55 tires on a sacchi 17" rim, dark tint, etc...) I set myself up to stand out more than the car next to me. Your blue lights do the same. If I was going to do it, I would have honestly did an LED strip all the way behind the grill as they have the flexible tape. In other words, pull off the grill surround and lined the rear of it LEDs.
18. Depending on the price I may be interested.....I've also been looking at a set of LPP Headers.
19. I know you said you don't want to hear this buuuuuuut.....In NC you will actually have to uninstall them on the spot if you do get stopped. I would personally make you uninstall them right there. They look good though, for what it's worth. I'll just keep my blue lights in the cruiser and make you uninstall yours.
20. IMHO, I think this is one of those freebie mods that if you can do it yourself and take your time, will just build on future mods which is why I did it. Such as, after my Header install and calling Zippy about a re-tune, I would imagine that the gains would be better than without it. I was pretty impressed with my work, but it's worth it to not be rushed. The one thing to remember.....it's not hair and and it's not growing back, lol. I would also tell you that most of the restriction is the shaft....not halving it, is probably robbing you of almost half the gain.
21. Toyo Proxes, or the Coopers, too. I was torn between all 4, the pirelli and General's were the heaviest if I remember, with the pirelli's reviews showing the worst treadlife. I'm loving my toyo proxes in 305/50-20, I managed to find all 4 a little more than 600.00, and they blow the goodyears out of the water. I'm convinced that any of the mentioned tires will be a great improvement over the stock goodyears, good luck.
22. No Problem. I have been impressed so far, just fyi I do get some rubbing when backing and turning the wheel pretty sharp. Other than that I haven't noticed any other issues.
23. And these pics are of the Toyo Proxes S/T 's in 305/50-20. I have about 4K miles on the tires, maybe 5K and they are very nice. on a 1-10 scale they would rate like this... Ride--7 (firmer, they do flat spot but round out in about 3-5 miles, the bumps in the road are slightly more pronounced) Handling--9.5 (eliminated a lot of felt body roll and really stick in a corner) Wet Traction--8 (haven't had any problems up to about 65MPH in standing water, and they continue to track well) Road Noise-- 9 (don't notice them anymore than the stock good years, which were extremely quiet) Wear-- N/A (not enough of miles) Snow-- N/A (no chance to find out) Light Mud--7 (they tear the ground up and no slipping and sliding could be higher but it's not like i purposefully look for the stuff) I might even get up some comparison pics, or just look at my albums you can see which are which. Hope this helps.
