  1. Yes I have pics on the stock wheels....one sec and they will be up. I love my 305's, handling is much improved, it's an obvious difference in grip around corners. One comparison pic (more can be found in my album) of the stock tires on the stock rims.
  2. I'll tell you from first hand experience, unless you can get it done for under a 100.00 I wouldn't waste the cash. And unless I was completely bored I wouldn't waste my time, either (I had an off topic post about my experience with porting and polishing mine). Gains, bahhh, I say yes....but they are pretty minimal. The truck seems do better at 75+ MPH. I have noticed no change in mpg. The truck pulls more air at idle, IMHO. The truck also pulls more air after being turned off, too. If I had to throw a number at you, I miiiiight say I gained 5-7HP...I also did the TB Bypass Mod at the same time, this may be more beneficial than the TB. The only true benefit I can vouch for is throttle response, it's def quicker. I bored mine out pretty well, and sloped the area were the idle hole is located and then re-drilled it. I also halved the top half of the bar that secures the throttle plate. There is a how-to, and it's very easy to follow but it's a pain in the @$$. And here is a link to my TB port, lol...I shaved alot of restriction out of as evidence by the all the metal lying around the table....I literally had two hand fulls of metal shavings on my table. I am actually gonna pull it back out and polish it using a polishing compound---it was smooth in the pics, but could be even smoother. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...p;hl=05_gasshog
  3. I love them, they are soft, and will flat spot in about 12 hours, but takes less then about 2 miles for them to smooth out. Traction is much improved over the stock goodyears. Handling is superb and wet traction is awesome, I thought I would get a chance to test them in the snow, but we got Jipped*sp. I have no doubt that with the 305's and some sway bars I could put down a great skid pad # in a fullsize truck.... I have read that the snow traction is about 50/50 between people...some say it's great other say it sucks, but since we might see snow for only 3 days a year it was not a deciding factor.

  5. I have pics from my iPhone that I need to get up of them. I am thouroughly impressed with the handling and grip of these tires. However, since they are 305's they do have a physical advantage over the stock Goodyear 275's. Been on for about 1200 miles, so it really is pretty early to praise them fully yet...but I am very happy.
  6. it does look like one of the HMF (i think that's right) pipes, haha.
  7. Prayers with these officers' families. One of our officer's was shot in the chest at his home when he opened the door following a drug trial. The suspect in this shooting has one heck of record from what I have ascertained, too.
  8. quite impressive numbers from it, though....the tapered design actually increases air velocity if I remember correctly. I used to refer to it as a walrus penis. I used to own a Dodge Ram, and they have some very creative people that try things that most people are like..."that will never work". One of the first guys to pioneer this owns one of the fastest 4.7L dodge rams. The shape is also functional as the turns never slow down the airflow.
  9. looks good, I think you should add a shopman1 bowtie and smoke the third tail light and you'll be good. Thatguyslucky.....what hood do you have?
  10. I referenced the how-to on the site as well. Let me just say, holy shiat is it a lot of work. On start-up I have a different result, i idle lower around 700rpm. I also halved the shaft, too. I would say that not doing the step makes this job not worth it. I also modified the idle area of the TB and sloped it for less resistance....I did not feel much gain, but the truck does do better in the upper rpm's (seat of the pants).
  11. +1..... And I also get the "nice SS clone, it looks real" because of the cloth interior and absence of bose... But the one that I get a lot...just like everyone else is....... "Does it have a HEMI?" I have yet to respond to any of them, I can't...it's impossible to when your trying not to just bust out laughing.
  12. Will do, I just let it handle the speeds automatically...I am not even sure If it has a selection to go from low to high manually without looking (I know I know...I just like the fact that it controls the temps auto so much I haven't attempted to control it manually. Gasemall, I'll re-check the amp wiring again...as I have it ran through the grommet for the parking brake....I know it's not touching but I'll check it to be sure.I would have thought that the inline fuse would have blown if it was the power wire shorting out.
  13. Maybe my SS is broke, haha....The highest MPG to date is 13.5 and that was all highway at 65 MPH. If I drive around town and mix highway...I get about 11.8, no I do get on her every now and then but no where near what I would like. Mods are CAI,True Dual Flowmasters, Ported and Modified TB, Zippy Tune, and 160* thermostat. If I saw 16 MPG in this truck I'd swear it was a miracle.
  14. All electrical functions work. The only new item installed is subs. I ran the power wire through the a new hole in the grommet with the parking brake line....and it looks perfect. I don't know, I was able to zero in the smell around the fuse area after taking the cover off but there was no heat, smoke, and all the fuses (i checked as i got tired of pulling) looked good. My wife was with me and she smelled it fairly strong after I had already driven about 15 miles...so i have no clue.
  15. The TB coolant bypass will keep your intake temps more constant, however while you are at it you can port the stock TB, too. Take a dremmel and take some time...I have no clue if any real gains are made...and it's a lot of work. I also polishedup the blade and removed a portion of the rod that holds the blade in place. The only real difference I noticed, just fyi, was top end.....which should help you trap an overall higher speed. And Mr. P has a website.
  16. This is hard to look at. I have a question for you as this is the only SS i know of to do this. Did you ever find the source of the fire? I was driving my 05 SS the other day and it smelled like burning plastic....I checked every thing like 5 times. I don't see any source of melting etc. The best I could locate the smell was somewhere behind the dash..closer to the fuse area. I had also just started the truck for the first time in about 5 days....and ran the heat....eventually I just shrugged and wondered if it was coming from heating system.
  17. Thanks because if the fit is nice, this def tempting.
  18. Well after my PM from Mr. P....I ordered all 4. They aren't the S/T II....They are the S/T I's, which is fine by me as the tread pattern looks nicer. They are on and installed for 610.00 tax/mounted/balanced. They look great and ride very well so far...only about 125 miles on them, lol. I'll get some pics up after the middle of this week if time permits for guys who are unsure.
