  1. Not much has changed yet but I have done a few small things. Picked up a Shopman1 bowtie (Thanks Brad!) because the truck just didn't look right without it. Removed the hitch, spare tire and spare tire mount/winch thingy. Threw some Belltech shackles on the rear (Thanks ZR1DREAMING!) and crank the t-bars down a few turns in the front. The front is sitting at about 1/2" lower than the rear and it looks pretty good IMO but eventually I might have to go lower. I still want to get rid of the Vararam CAI that came on the truck but I havent had time to mess with it yet. Im also not really in love with the exhaust either. Im debating on whether or not I want to mess with headers or if I should just do a different muffler setup and keep the factory manifolds and cats for now. Also need to source a set of factory e-fans as the ones that the previous owner installed don't really fit the radiator, at all...and they're powered on/off by an annoying toggle switch that he mounted below the cargo light button. Frustrating but nothing that can't be fixed and cleaned up. I'm also trying out my hand at tuning the truck myself. Starting off slow and small with just torque management reduction, removing the speed limiter and doing a lot of logging. I messed around a bit with shift points last night as well as a bit of power enrichment and the truck definitely feels a lot stronger already, but Im going to have to revisit the shift points because I think I set them a bit too high as I hit the rev limiter this morning before it would shift so I definitely don't want to be doing that. I'm an idiot when it comes to tuning so it's going to be a long process lol.
  2. Well I figured since I have HPTuners I'd give tuning a shot on the 03 SSS I just picked up. The truck is bone stock other than a Vararam CAI and a Magnaflow muffler. Starting off I just wanted to adjust tire size, remove the speed limiter and reduce the amount of both engine and transmission torque management. I went out and logged the truck on the stock tune before messing with anything and at WOT I was seeing upwards of 8* of KR which I thought was kind of crazy for a pretty much completely stock truck. Went back to the house and saved the log and pulled the stock tune, saved a copy of it and started working on the torque management and speed limiter. I followed some simple instructions I found on the HPT forum to remove all torque management, but used my own values to reduce it by 75%. Then uploaded the new tune file and went out for another log. This time I saw no KR at all at WOT, the shift from 1-2 felt a bit sluggish but I know I'm going to have to either add a vette servo or some more tuning work to fix that issue. But overall, the truck felt like it pulled much stronger than before. I also noticed though that with the stock tune, the commanded AFR was 14.68, but with my modified tune the value for commanded AFR was gone in the scanner. Now, I don't know if something that I modified in the engine torque management is the culprit for the missing AFR value or not, because other than clearing codes, shutting off rear O2s or loading in a custom tune, this is the first time I have ever messed with HPT on my own. For peace of mind until I got some insight from someone more knowledgeable, I loaded the factory tune back in the truck before going to bed last night and kept my foot out of it on the way to work this morning. I did have a few instances passing other cars on the highway at about 1/2-3/4 throttle that I saw about 2* of KR this morning however so Id like to try and figure that issue out along with making sure my values for torque management are acceptable for a stock trans. Thanks in advance!
  3. Gotcha, I was just wondering. If you don't have any luck selling it as a whole and do end up actually parting out the whole truck there are a few pieces that I would be interested in. Ill follow along with the thread and see how it goes.
  4. If you dont want to dismantle it then why did you start a "parting out" thread?
  5. Probably a long shot but if you have any interest in making it more stock Id be willing and interested in trading you the Corsa for factory exhaust as well as a factory air box and tube for the GMPP intake.
  6. I wasn't knocking the idea, or your efforts to get something like this done for the guys who are still in the market to do an 80e swap so lose the high and mighty Also, you can't really claim these to be "superior" to anything if they don't even exist yet. Let alone any being installed and tested/proven. The re-splined units that have been used for years now have had a grand total of zero failures to date and are in some very heavy and very powerful trucks. So to discredit the efforts and workmanship of those who have made, sold and used the re-splined factory units by advertising these as superior is a bit of a joke. And again, that's not to say that Mark doesn't make quality products, or that you're not putting in a good effort by getting something like this going for the people who otherwise would be forced to come up with their own solution to the 80e swap problem. Let's just be happy that there is ultimately a solution to those who want to do an 80e swap, even if it is over priced.
  7. As badly as I want to do an 80e swap in the SSS I just bought like I did in my old SSS, spending an extra 700 bucks for the input shaft adapter just makes me cringe. I dont remember what Time2Kill used to charger for his resplined units but even those were expensive, and to be fair they were plenty strong enough. Good luck getting enough people together for the group purchase, too bad the price isn't a bit easier to swallow for me.
  8. Just do like I did on my procharged truck and run a single 4" exhaust. I tried out more exhaust combinations than I care to admit and the sinlge 4" with a borla XR-1 muffler was without a doubt the best sounding exhaust I ever had on my truck. Youll need a flowmaster dual 3 to single 4 merge, some 4" straight pipe, some 4" mandrel bends (number of bends will be determined based on if you want the exhaust to go over the axle or dump before) and a muffler. Super simple, performs great, little to no drone at highway speeds and sounds amazing. Right now, you're waaaaaay over complicating the exhaust.
  9. Larger converter for sure, unless you go with a much smaller cam OR you don't care about your 0-60 performance. Hardened pushrods, stock 05+ efans and harness and Id suggest a bit more spring than the LS6's. Something like a PAC1218 would be much more suitable and keep the valvetrain a bit more under control.
  10. 2006 LT, charcoal cloth interior with full center console. Almost new 285/70-17 tires and H2 wheels. Front suspension and steering components, driveshaft support bearing and u joints replaced about a year ago. Leveled with shackles in rear. 3" MBRP downpipe, 5" magnaflow exhaust, no muffler system. 150 gallon aux tank plumbed into main tank. Has a tow/mileage tune done with HPTuners but can be taken back to stock tuning without issue. Message me for more pics. Im not going to mess around with photobucket forever or edit the pictures to make them less than 1MB to post on here. Asking $15,000 OBO, thanks.
  11. Considering this thread is almost 4 years old....Nah, Im sure it's still for sale
  12. Second day driving the truck and this happens... Trooper was cool at least and complimented the truck. He got me for no front plate and the tint eyebrow on the windshield being too low. Luckily just gave me warnings for both.
  13. Thanks man. Yes they are 22" TBSS reps, and I definitely plan to color match the emblems and ducts if I decide to keep these wheels. I like them a lot, but if I could find a good set of stock wheels I'd probably go back to stocks.
  14. You're making me want to take pictures of mine together now...lol. Too bad my camaro is in nowhere near as good of condition as yours is. Very nice looking pair you have.
  15. Post up some pictures. Ive never put my eyes on a Vortech mount but when I had my Procharger on my old truck the alternator stayed in the factory location and the SC mount bolted to the front of the factory alternator mount so it was never an issue. Not sure why Vortech would design their mount to move the alternator out of its factory position, that just seems silly.
  16. I ran the LS3 gold blade on my truck and never had any issues. It ultimately came down to which one I found cheaper when I was looking. People wanting in the $300 range for a stock silver blade LS2 throttle body are just nuts. I picked up the LS3 TB I had for $100 or so.
  17. A friend of mine also ordered some lights from eBay. I don't remember if they were tinted or not but they leaked from the very first time it rained. He ended up exchanging them twice and after the third set of lights doing the same exact thing he finally asked for a refund. He now has the same TYC lights that I bought for my truck.
  18. I picked up a full set of TYC brand from Rock Auto. They're nothing fancy, just stock replacements. But they've held up nicely so far on my 06 Duramax that Ive DDed for the last 3 years.
  19. Just use the forums picture attachment feature. The only down side to that is, you can only post up to 1MB per post. I had to dumb down that one picture 3 times to get it small enough to attach to the post. PITA
  20. I have a new one coming from Brad (Shopman1) he had a few left in stock from his last run.
  21. Well since Photobucket is on the shits right now, and this site can't come out of the stone age on upload size...Ill have to go about uploading more pictures some other way. Here's one more for now from picking her up yesterday.
  22. The truck I just picked up has a Vararm VR-6 CAI installed and Id rather run the stock air box with just a drop in filter. Stock intake tube OR AirRaid MIT tube is fine. Or I'd consider trading for another CAI such as a Volant, GM Performance...Pretty much anything with an enclosed box. If trading for stock box/tube Ill need a bit of cash to go with it. If stock box with a good filter and MIT tube OR a different CAI I'll trade straight across depending on condition. Thanks! Link to the Vararam intake I have below. http://www.vararam.com/vr6.html
  23. No worries man. Ill just sit in the corner and wait for another one to pop up.
  24. Ill take the shackles. PM me your paypal info and Ill send you the money.
