  1. The price I listed above was a complete Kit with front and rear bars. The factory front I believe is considered 32MM. The hotchkis front was considered 37mm or 1-7/16
  2. Every kit from each company is a little different. It's typically best to use a matched set from 1 company. Personally, I liked the Hotchkis because they had the largest Front Sway Bar. I also like the way the rear bar laid out. To me, Some kits seem like more of an afterthought I have no experience with a matched kit from any company So that's why I am asking. I have 3 trucks right now that need Sway bar kits. If there is a kit that works better I am opened to suggestions. For me, the price of a kit isn't the Issue. I want it to handle and last. I am sure most companies products will.
  3. These Hotchkis kits were discontinued a few years back for the SS/VHO trucks. I have not seen a full kit for sale in a very long time. Occasionally I find maybe a rear bar for sale. I really wanted to add one of these kits to my truck. Out of curiosity I called and asked what it would take to get a production run going again. I would need to purchase 25 kits to have them made again. I could see possibly 10 kit's but 25 I think would be though to move. $618 was the last list price they had when they discontinued them. They would have to re submit it to verify current pricing but shouldn't be off much from there. They won't discuss any other pricing obviously unless I move forward from there. So, with that being said. I would like to see how much interest there might be in this and if it's even worth considering.
  4. They come as a set in PN#15222752 http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/47063-post-pics-of-v-max-vho/page-10?do=findComment&comment=767622
  5. For those that don't know, The SS uses torsion bar front suspension like the 4wd. The regular 2wd trucks use a different front shock. They are not interchangeable. That auction listed above was for a slight lift of up to 4-6 inches front and 4 in the rear. This is what you want for a stock ride height vehicle. 1999-2006 CHEVROLET/GMC SILVERADO/SIERRA 1500 6-LUG 4WD 2007 **CLASSIC** CHEVROLET/GMC SILVERADO/SIERRA 1500 6-LUG 4WD (CLASSIC MODELS WITH TORSION BAR STYLE FRONT SUSPENSION ONLY) BILSTEIN 5100 SERIES FRONT & REAR SHOCK KIT FOR VEHICLES WITH 0"-2.5" OF FRONT LIFT AND 0"-1" OF REAR LIFT FRONT BILSTEIN PART #24-186643 / REAR BILSTEIN PART #24-186742 I had the 4600 series on a regular 2wd and it stiffened it up a bit in a good way at least for handling. Sometimes a little stiff unloaded but not bad. It felt more solid than the original factory shocks. Over time they wore like any other shock. They still felt decent but to me, they were worn. My understanding is the 5100 series also carry a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY. The 4600 series do not.
  6. There is a black and a silver SS grill in craig's list in California. Los Angeles area for black. Not sure if he still has it was up for like a month or so. Inland Empire area for silver. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/pts/5350198493.html
  7. I believe the dash pieces, switch covers, center console piece offered through the dealer were just Hydro dipped any way. As mentioned Art was doing the engine cover piece. Since I need at least 1 possibly more, Let me know If you need more people to fill the order.
  8. 6 piston kits for the front. 9. Just a few of the ones I found for sale. These are the ones that seem legit. There were a few others that popped up but they were modified or had salvage titles. GL with your search. https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/2GCEK19N631325040/2003-chevrolet-silverado-ss/ https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/2GCEK19N231387082/2003-chevrolet-silverado-ss/ https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/2GCEK19N831382811/2003-chevrolet-silverado-ss/ http://www.carclassifiedsbystate.com/15/2005/chevrolet/silverado/ss/hayward/219288770/4818/index.html http://www.autoblog.com/used-detail-2455627525634170757-Chevrolet-Silverado+1500-2003 http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/656061962/overview/?aff=aol
  10. The GMC Sierra Denali trucks around 05-06 had a silver birch tailgate cap option. It's pricey but It might be a good alternative. 15129010 The standard black textured cap was 15932261
  11. The Info I posted earlier was not correct. The Vin listed in his auction is correct. I have also confirmed it is a real DEI SS truck. The original wing & hardware are missing from when the Tonneau cover was installed. The Intimidator badges were removed as the owner felt "they looked cheesy" so he removed them. Those things along with the current condition and the fact that it is missing the COA, I don't fell it is worth any where close to what he is asking. JMHO
  12. I hope it's not this one that you're looking at... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Silverado-1500-SS-DALE-EARNHARDT-EDITION-/191763959565?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2ca605cf0d:g:A2YAAOSw1S9WdzAJ&item=191763959565 This auction on ebay states it has a clean title with 71,500 miles and is an Intimidator edition, How ever it is missing alot of pieces that Make the DEI package what it is.
  13. The mounting hardware should all be the same as a normal Silverado /Sierra bumper. The single side bolt is not shown i would assume M12X1.75 as that is the nut size shown 11609856 is the plate with 2 studs that goes through brackets and frame. 03537772 M12X1.75 is the thread size for the nuts but they are showing discontinued. 15016308 M14X2X45,37THD,28 OD Is the bolt that goes up through the bottom of hitch and frame.
  14. Most 75/80W 90 Gear oils I personally have come across are Synthetic or synthetic blend. It's hard to find something that is not. Every thing I saw with a GL-5 rating at the parts store stated it's additive package was sufficient for use with limited slip differentials. I bought Valvoline the last time I did a gear oil change. I have used synthetic and regular from valvoline. I have also used the mobil 1 gear oil as well as Sta-lube gear oil products. I also know the Royal purple states the same thing with the GL5 product. http://content.valvoline.com/pdf/high_performance_gear.pdf
  15. I have not seen any repo's of that style wheel.
  16. Was the BCM New or Used?
  17. The Sad thing is, in 06. The Intimidator model of the SS truck was the highest produced 06 SSS followed by standard black SS, then Silver SS, then Red SS.
  18. FYI, GL5 Gear oil already contains friction modifier for use with limited slip. Richard, you are correct, the rear should have G80 limited slip differential. To the original poster. Are you referring to the front or the rear differential locking up? It could also be the AWD Transfer case as they are filled separate from the transmission and not typically maintenanced properly. If they are not cared for, They will start Humping as it's been termed which is like its looking and unlocking. Not sure if you purchased as is or if it had some type of warranty but you may want to take it back and have it inspected if it does have any type of warranty.
  19. I have never seen that bracket on an SS bumper before. Bracket number 13 in that illustration holds the lower piece up as well as the center grill.
  20. The vehicle uses the brake switch to unlock the convertor. It's also tied through the Cruise control circuit.
  21. Being an 05 you probably need seat with sensors in them. If the seats were from an 03-04 it will not have them. You will like have to remove them from the old seats and transfer them over.
  22. FYI the bumper covers usually come unpainted from the dealer. If there is anything left over from production that is painted it may end up being sold as a paint to match item. I just got one from the dealer a week or 2 ago and the list Price is around $450 It also came unpainted and had a production tag from 2014 on it.
  23. A bad brake switch might cause the convertor not to unlock while coming to a stop.
