So…I had to buy a new front Diff...
tayldss replied to NipRing's topic in AWD, Differential, & Transmission Tech
This is great news. I'll be pulling the trigger on one of these ASAP. The salvage yard wanted $800 for a unit with 90,000miles on it already! Thanks for the post and part number! Autozone website shows that 440-01336B will not fit a 2004??? I spoke with their vendor and they said it is the same part #! -
I haven't been home long enough to take a good look at it. I really need to just find a local reputable shop that has the time. Blown346 made some good suggestions on what to check. Good luck and keep us posted, I will update when I get mine figured out.

Sounds high even though your talking about extra stuff that I didn't need. Mine may have been a buddy price, but not a "Great Buddy price". Good luck on your search for a good shop.

I agree..looks like a clean Victory Red SSS... good luck

thanks for the write up! I called around asking about front-end rebuilds yesterday and was quoted "anywhere around $2500"

Have you checked your transfer case fluid? I'm getting a noise grind/vibration from my front end too and a leak from the front seal on the transfer case Mostly at 50-55mph or when I let off the throttle. Thinking it could be u-joint vibration tearing apart the seal/bearing. Maybe carrier bearings are junk (229k miles) I haven't been able to check tie rods, ball joints, or front dif. Good luck and keep us posted if you find a fix!

2003 Black SS Part Out 60K Miles Front End Damage
tayldss replied to highvoltamps's topic in For Sale/ Wanted
How much for the Bose head unit? digital heat controls? -
front diff?
-
I've done it a couple times, once in my SSS by accident while on a work trip and another in a Cadillac STS I had as a rental. Awesome drive! Watch out for motorcycles. If you're thinking April, traffic might not be too bad. Fall time can get crowded with so many people riding with the changing colors.

Bose stereo? I need the buttons... What type of heater controls? -
I've had OBX longtubes on my truck for a few years now with no big complaints and they're stainless so still look decent. Plus, they bolted on without too much hassle or any welding. Only thing I had to do was get some insulated boots for my spark plug wires and zip tie one back away from the bend near the steering shaft.

(4) Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza 285/45R22 only 2200 miles
tayldss replied to tayldss's topic in For Sale/ Wanted
Any offers, shoot me PM. NOT looking for full price these tires are just taking up space and I only have 20s for my truck -
A buddy of mine has a set of four Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza tires taken off a new Escalade to be replaced with snow tires. 285/45r22 only 2200 miles One has a patch plug in it that was done the right way at a Firestone, not a string plug from Walmart. Located near Whitewater or he works in Milwaukee during the week. I also travel for work so MAYBE could arrange that I toss them in the truck for the right price. So local pickup only or if it's reasonable we could arrange something. Last I checked, these were listed $214ea plus shipping on TireRack Any serious offers let me know. Trying to avoid the Craigslist mess.

That 751T reminds me of my S&W MP15-22 that thing is a blast to shoot and cheap too in 22lr I wonder how the quality really compares to the Smith and Wesson... with eight 25rd and four 35rd I can run through a bulk box in no time. The 35rds tend to jam if loaded to max capacity. nice buy, 175 is a deal without any firing problems I was lucky to snag my magazines and bulk 22lr before they all doubled in price

I like the red lines!

Ahhh wish I could've joined you guys! If anyone has some extra free time please share lol Our three red SSS's would be sweet cruising somewhere together

Winters comming MN/WI owners
tayldss replied to 2003_SuperSport's topic in Events, Gatherings, & Rallys
I've still got my truck and drove it today. I'd be up for a get together somewhere in WI if it works out snow or no snow -
Apparently kbb is sky high overpriced for these trucks? Any reasonable offers will be considered. There's been so little interest I don't know what I should do for price. I'm still paying what I need to pay for so in the end if I don't sell...i'll still have an awesome truck.

Anyone else get pissed off at Craigslist Scammers
tayldss replied to silverado777's topic in Off-Topic/General
No joke I've been called at least once or twice a day since posting my truck up for sale on CL. Sucks for those who are actually interested in the truck because I'm forced to screen calls now -
BUMP $9500, may negotiate to let go with 20" black SS reps
-
BUMP Included with truck are: Spare tailgate Low profile toolbox (shown in pics) Stock airbox Stock fan shroud Stock manifolds (yippee I know) Stock 3rd tail light I also have an extra cladding corner, not sure what side though... I'd have to check when I get back home.
