  1. Glad to hear that you got your refund. Bummer that you didn't get your wheels. Thanks for the info on the company.
  2. I said that I would go straight to the diff, (And I would), but I would also look for shiny metal on your dust shield, caliper bracket, and other related parts to search out the scraping noise that you mentioned. I do think that no matter where the scraping noise is coming from, it will go away when you remedy your end-play problem but if it has been scraping long enough, other parts may need attention.
  3. Wish I could see your pics. Clips are probably softer metal than the axle so I'm not sure about your additional end-play. I haven't seen the factory specs for end-play but there may be some acceptable amount in an "up to spec" set-up. Add to that the wear on the clips and you might be right where you should be. How many miles on the truck / diff? Your wear could be mileage carnage. (Although I would expect that to be a high number. Given adequate lubrication ).
  4. I would go straight to the diff. The axle shouldn't have end play if the clips are in good shape. My guess is that there has to be wear either in the C clip or groove in the axle were the c clip seats. You may wind up needing a new gasket for your diff cover.
  5. Welcome to the site bud. Best luck in your truck hunt.
  6. Have you asked Tony? I'd be surprised if he doesn't have the answer. Best luck in your search.
  7. I gotcha. 1 line emails would get old in a hurry. I haven't heard back form the center cap guy yet but I'll give it a couple days.
  8. Thanks for the heads up Richard. I've never dealt with Offer Up before, have you? Sent the seller an email. Hope it went through.
  9. Interested in the brake duct grill's. What kinda shape are the tail lights in? Kind of a rough picture. Are the mirror's SSS? Price? PM me if you want.
  10. I'm in for long term results. I sprung for what now passes for OEM a little bit ago but haven't installed yet. After I bought them, I read that the OEM replacements aren't up to the quality of what the truck came with. Hope your TYC's work out great.
  11. I didn't get it but I'm probably too old.
  12. Rudy91040 makes the brackets. I've seen a thread post pretty recently, that affirmed that he is still making them. This is from the first page of the "how to" forum. Contact Rudy. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/64830-z06-brake-conversion/
  13. Stepper motor would be my first guess too. When my speedo step motor went the speedo would read erratically, higher or lower than actual speed. It never stuck at one setting though.
  14. More than your looking for but, http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-05-06-Silverado-SS-1500-Nose-Front-Clip-Blue-Bumper-Hood-Grille-Fenders-/132171670528?&_trksid=p2056016.m2516.l5255 I've thought about it for years, now I'm gonna say it. I want to be the sandwich filling in your avatar.
  15. Study the shipping notes on ebay add. West by God Virginia.
  16. Did you check for codes? Maybe your mech did and traced it to the filter. Hope it's a simple fix.
  17. Welcome to the site. Congratulations on finding your truck. (Black is the fastest color). Have fun modding. A tune (I use and recommend Zippy) is generally accepted as the "Best bang for your buck". You might want to put a 160* thermostat in her before the tune. I gather parts for several mods to install together before re-tunes as re-tunes are generally not free.
  18. It's definitely a NO NO. Is the dumbass mech on notice that he may owe you a T-case? Have you put it back together correctly and test driven it?
