  1. It's hard to beat a cleaned and shiny black truck.
  2. Yeah. That's the type of part that's good to grab when you see them. Their not going to get any easier to find. My original is still OK but I'm planning a paint job and figured it made sense to get a fresh, flexible, one while I can.
  3. Thanks Richard. I bought one. I searched every way I could think of the other day with no luck.
  4. I guess that's what you get when the price of owning these trucks get low enough. Seams like some people will always ask a question for the 1,000th time before trying a search. Good to see that your still hangin round.
  5. Must have been real special to drive these off the show room floor. Mine was 6 years old when I lucked into it and it was still a thrill to drive it for the first time. It's still the nicest and coolest vehicle I've owned.
  6. I saw quite a bit more change than you are describing and so if your calculation is correct, I may have had a somewhat damaged thermostat to begin with. Here are before and after photos of my swap. (Same conditions as to amount of time the truck had run prior to photos. Same ambient temps. I did change coolant when I did the swap.)
  7. I traded a 93 with 250K on it, (And boot, of coarse), for the SSS. Mine had the TBI 350 also. Never left me stranded. Was it 94 that they changed the dash from square to the rounded corners? I never did care much for the dash in the 93, although to be honest it didn't bother me much till I saw the later model round edged dash. For me that rounded dash was when GM really started bringing the Silverado to a new level of refinement but I guess you could say that about a lot of their advancements both mechanical and convenience. Your 94 is as good a looker as I've seen in that era truck. You did good with it.
  8. Thanks Mark. It's always good to see familiar names and avatars still hangin tough. Especially you original owners and site members.
  9. That's a good looking truck Richard. What did she wind up with for power?
  10. Thanks Thing. Good to see your still hangin round.
  11. Good points Richard. Not a bad idea to buy and store some things when you can find them. Cladding, for instance. I guess that aftermarket will eventually reman some things but there will always be a premium on OEM stuff.
  12. I saw change in the dash temp gauge after changing my therm out. Did you check the old and new pieces for temp rating? Thermostats used to be stamped with the temp rating.) Are you sure the one you took out was OEM, (180* If I remember right.) Just wondering if someone may have already changed to 160*.
  13. Yeah, lot of guys moving on to other projects. I'm planning on sticking around a while too.
  14. Thanks Muggs. It's always good to see you here.
  15. I started 8 years go but was pretty quiet for a while. The site was a heck of a lot more active beck then. Best luck in your search for a truck.
  16. Welcome to the site Dan. Congratulations on getting your truck.
  17. Stang looked "herky jerky" right off the line. SSS for the WIN.
  18. I think that it's easier to make the 80 bullet proof but some folks have pretty good luck with the 60. Swapping in the 80 is not as simple as just replacing the 60, but a lot of guys have done it and these days most of the needed parts are available prefabbed. Points to TK for posting the right vid. The truck sounds and looks great.
  19. I could spend a lot of time checking out fishin stuff and it's hard to pass up a nice stuffed bear. The old pedal toys are big bucks.
  20. Congratulations on the Machinist box and tools. That sounds like a great score, especially for $20. Sounds like it would have been the place to be with a pocket full of cash.
