  1. I could not say it better. My choices would be Samsung or Phillips. I use to like Texas Instruments alot, but have not checked theirs out since 2005. I have a Samsung LCD from 2005 and it still a great pic, however these LEDs are nice. Make sure you purchase top notch wires also (for HDMI), those are very important and help tremendously.
  2. Wow, that is a harsh fine. The debate will always go on about seat belts. In my case, I have permanent damage to my neck, constant migraines, severe TMJD, my c4,c5,c6 discs in my neck are bone on bone (complete obliteration of space/tissue, and I now have spinal fusion in that area). I cant lay my head on a pillow, yes I sound like a baby but its something that changes your life forever and severely. Have not slept in 2 days, and that is normal for me. I also knew someone that passed away because he wore a seatbelt. Very sad to see that happen when you hear belts save lives. I know if I wore mine, I would be in great condition and in the prime of my life. I do believe in choice, but when the law applies, I follow.
  3. Thank you Mr. P for the info on the fleet, Ive been trying to find a DEI SS in Bristol, CT that has around 100 miles on the odometer. Saw it on ebay last fall. That helps explain why the milage is so low. edit-Brobrad has one helluva sweet truck, I love the purge picture. Had it saved but had to restore my computer.
  4. I am also interested in running boards. Check out Lund, they have lighted ones. These will help my back issues and save the leather seat edge from wearing. They also protect the side of the truck very well. These Lund products will fit the SS and follow the body lines/cladding, bottom of page 1 has the boards. http://www.lundlook.com/ProductListing.asp...772,584,775,771 The running boards I personally like most (80 inch, lighted) http://www.lundlook.com/PartDetail.aspx?pa...amp;catcode=LUN
  5. Here is a clip to the Borla exhaust system, this member has since sold his SS. Also has the AEM brute force intake, and a zippy pcm tune.
  6. I spoke to a representative from Corsa today and the Db system is really not for the Silverado SS. That is why it is pictured on a normal 1500 chevy on the corsa site. The quality is the same, and made in the same factory/shop as the touring and sport systems. To me, he would not recomend this exhaust on my SS, only a touring or sport exhaust. He would recomend this Db system to other 1/2 ton chevy p/u, but not the SS. Also found out that corsa designed the SS tip on the stock SS exhaust system.
  7. I have been on the phone the past few days with dealerships and what not, and this seems to be the real deal for an Indy 500 Parade Vehicle. I am getting ready for a number to offer the dealer. For anyone who has/had a Parade Vehicle/Pace Truck, was their any sort of documentation? I have looked up the Pace Truck thread on the site and only Boostd1 has said that he has a number 25 on his Parade Vehicle. Any information would be appreciated guys/gals . edit- Indy 500 Parade Vehicle thread http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...p;hl=Pace+truck
  8. Thank you for the posting the info sir, I am making some phone calls tommorow.
  9. Both the bowtie and ducts look mint, I love the black and Arrival Blue, goes great together. Terry is the man! Im just waiting until summer to put mine on.
  10. Just wanted to let you know that the Intimidator is not only an appearance package, but also has a lowered ride height and little bit different suspension than the other Super Sport trucks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverado_SS#...et_Silverado_SS [edit] Intimidator SS In 2006, Chevrolet released a special edition Silverado SS under the name "Intimidator SS" (licensed by Dale Earnhardt Inc..) to honor the late Dale Earnhardt. The truck that came with several minor appearance upgrades, a lowered ride height, performance suspension, two-stage multi-leaf springs, Tenneco shocks, a stiffer front stabilizer bar and harder front jounce bumpers, but left the bulk of the truck the same as the regular SS.[3]
  11. Use to do labor work (landscraping, built decks, you name it, etc). Wrecked my body enough that I cannot do that type of work anymore, recovreing from numerous surgeries now and more to come. I think I want to try paralegal or something with Class 1 RailRoads.
  12. glad you can laugh at your own jokes. I was going to get into AIDs statistics but nevermind.
  13. Looks mint , add your nickname to that badboy (8 ur hmi)
  14. Enjoy the leave as best you can, be safe and my thoughts are with you Justin. -A
  15. Congrats on the Intimidator Problems wise, its luck of the draw with our transmissions (contributing factors are also how you drive). I am looking into a 2nd SS most likely an Intimidator .

    Maintenance Help

Thank you Dan and SSplaytoy. My battery is done, so I will be replacing that for sure. From what I have seen, all the visible hoses in the engine bay are in good condition/no cracking. However I am sure I need to inspect them more, and for belts I will have to look at. I need new brakes which will also be replaced all around. I changed the fuel filter in 07, but that is an inexspensive fix so I will add that to the list. I will also change the t-stat, was hoping to get a 160, but a tune really makes it work, so I most likely witll go back with the stock one for now, until money starts pouring back in. Gave her a complete detail in early november, so hoping that is fine for now, but will do another when I am able to (turning bolts are easier for me at this stage in recovery). Completely forgot about the plugs and wires, so I will do those if there are cracks on the plugs. Brake system flush did not cross my mind, however that is something that will need to be done as I am sure moisture has collected. Thank you guys, I appreciate this alot. I am doing alot better, 1 more surgery on 2-18 and I will be putting all my energy to getting this work done.
  17. I have been stirring around tonite on what I should do to my truck for maintenance. It has not been on the road since 11/2007 due to my health issues/surgeries. I am trying to put together a list of stuff I should do. I am not mechanically smart, I can do oil changes and thats about it. So here goes, I plan on doing both differentials (they have sat with the same fluids since 11/2007). The truck has only gained 10 miles since then. Mobil 1 liquids is what I will be going with. I have printed Mr P's "how to" and seems pretty easy (thanks Mr. P for the how to ). I also will do an oil change, even though it has 10 miles on it. I need a coolant flush, I believe their was a how to on youtube I will be searching for shortly. Should I follow youtube, or save up $$ and go to the dealership and have it done? Now comes the more complicated maintenance (tranny, transfer case fluids). I do know the service intervals for both (every 50k). Its the fact the truck has sat for awhile and I am not sure if its best to get the old fluids out, or follow the 100k interval. Had both done at 49k, and I am now at 64k. I know the tranny fluid acts as a degertant in a way. I certainly do not want to the truck to have issues when I am back on the road. Just need some advice from the more knowledgable members on my situation here. Sorry for the tedious questions, I just have kept the truck in best condition possible before my health went south, and do not want it to start having problems now. Any info is appreciated. Once again, thank you in advance team.
  18. I alredy knew that, that is why I recomended New England Dyno for a Dyno tune, and ESP for a street tune. I would still go with ESP regardless, they concentrate on your truck, and only your truck with no rush. Either way, happy tuning
  19. Right on the spot, mine is completely stock and I was offered the same price for it by my dealership as for what I paid for it when I bought it in 05 w/33k on the odometer. The other reason is I dont drive it fast, barely been over 2500-3000rpms. I am now around 60k. They have alot of customers who want to purchase my truck, as I recieve letters weekly stating they have customers interested (Ive also heard these letters are normal from other members who recieve them as well). While having it serviced in 07, one of the higher ups opened his checkbook and said how much, told him to wait a few years. Then again when I test drove the SRT-10 Nite Runner, they tried to screw me and offer me 12k (when I pulled in 3-4 servicemen and salesmen walked over to check the SS out so I knew one of them wanted it). Walked away immediately and they chased me out the door as very few are buying v10s. RedSSct good luck on the sale bro, I am in the market for a 2nd SS but cannot purchase for at least 6 months/end of the year.
  20. If magnaflow is not loud enough, go for B&B exhaust (in my opinion their exhaust is 2nd to none). As recomended, get a mail order tune, dyno tune or in person tune. Check out this thread for some sound clips of the B&B and corsa exhaust system, my favorite 2 choices. My original sn was 03maSSS. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...p;amp;B+exhaust
  21. Dynatech supermaxx or ARH headers in my opinion.
  22. ^^^Congrats on the win Jeff! I got a steal on my truck b/c my grandfather went to the dealership for over 35 years and the owner instantly walked over to us before I had a chance to look at the SS. I only trust the Chevy dealers in Lowell, mine, and one on Cape Cod (a close friend knows the owner). Came across too many scams like one spot saying they had multiple SS' completely stock w/ Harmon Kardon steroes Will be going for that ESP street tune this year, cant wait! Sorry for the hijack redssct.
  23. How many miles you have? I just found an Arrival Blue in MA with 22,xxx miles for sale for 23 grand, I was highly interested until I found out which dealership was selling it as I do no trust them.
