  1. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow . It already turned to rain though , I was up till 8am watching the snow and then it started raining ice storm time! Cant wait to see all the idiots off the road
  2. Here is a sale on Dynatech LT's with high flow cats. Little bit more than your price range, but if you can wait and save some coin, performance/quality is top notch. http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.aspx?cate...p;partid=482037 sound clip of dynatech's w/corsa exhaust (the setup I am going with eventually) Maybe some cali members can help you out with a good inspection guy. I am not too knowledgable about coatings as I have not needed to do so yet (check out JetHot, I have read good things about them here). Good luck and congrats on the Intimidator
  3. Snowtorius!!!!! I must say I use to shovel my driveway in a t shirt, b-ball shorts and timbs while my neighbors snowblowed theirs dressed like they lived in Antartica.....
  4. All I saw was his headlights/front end go "bye bye" Nice kill!
  5. The price range helps, but your info is really broad. From your price range, check out Pacesetter, JBA, Dough Thorley, and Edelbrock. Is quality a big factor in deciding? I would not add shorty headers as gains average around 10-15hp (not worth the money in my opinion, that is why I personally would only go with LT's). You should also consider a tune as this will help bring your truck alive and make the most of your investment (check out Blackbaer, LEP, Wheatley tunes). Also, do you plan on installing the headers yourself? Coatings (ceramic, polished) depend on the use of your vehicle, such as will it see weather elements and how hard you run the truck, how often, etc? Hope this helps a little bit to start you off in some direction. You will need cats to pass smog. Any more info on goals, or what you are looking for will help members point you in the right direction. The search button, bolt-on and engine modification section can help you out also with info
  6. damn, I am sorry man, my thoughts are with your family. I have owned 3 beagles and I know the feeling, I was the only one in my fam who could put ours down. My current beagle has an enlarged heart and murmur also, but it is a common thing in beagles. My 2nd beagle had a stroke in my arms when I picked her up trying to get her away from some damn trick or treaters back in 05, freaking heart wrenching (I remember driving the SS about 60mph in a 15mph to get her to the hospital but she was already a vegetable basically, all she could do was look at me ). Cops were waiting for me on the return to my house, but let me go after they heard the story........Best cure for me was to get another beagle from my breeder within the next few days. Once again I am sorry man, like stated earlier, my dogs are also truely family. RIP to your pup
  7. holy crap this thread just made me laugh my a$$ off and its been a bad day for me, I needed a good laugh. I hope all goes well on the build and good luck with 12's!
  8. I hope the best for your grandmother Justin. I am kinda mad at the man upstairs right now for the treatment I am getting for my own health issues from PC drs., my thoughts and fingers are crossed for your grandma and your possible new little one!
  9. Does not surprise me at all, my senior year they renovated the whole school and they added security cameras inside and outside of the school. I asked the superintendent why they had them inside and she replied "security." Turns out they used them specifically to see when kids were sneaking out of school and catch them when returning. I can see them as use for safety though in school, but on take home laptops ? Dont know if all you heard about the situation here in MA about bullying over IM's and emails and a teenage girls suicide due to ridicule, maybe that is part of the reason
  10. very nice. interested as well.
  11. ^^^^^Happy B day BroBrad That picture of your truck at the Raceway with the huge purge spraying above your truck is one of my favorite
  12. supposedley they were 1033 DEI SS' made, of which 933 were labeled "Intimidator" for 06. They were not just an appearance package, they had a difference suspension but not anything drastic. The 100 leftover that were not labeled w/the appearance and suspension package are supposedley 2007 Super Sport trucks. i remember a member on here who has an 07 and he has the exact same suspension setup as a DEI SS. Here is some info on the DEI SS v. SS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverado_SS#...et_Silverado_SS) [edit] Chevrolet Silverado SS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:03-05_Ch...ilverado_SS.jpgSilverado SSLaunched in 2003, the Silverado SS is a high-performance pickup truck built by Chevrolet. It is based on the standard 1500 Silverado, with upgrades in drive train and both exterior and interior appearance. It uses the 6.0 liter Vortec High-Output V8 rated at 345 hp (257 kW) at 5200 rpm and 380 lb·ft (515 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm. This was the same engine used for the second generation Cadillac Escalade. Chevrolet and GMC advertise this engine as the "VortecMAX", while Cadillac calls it the "HO 6000". The SS debuted with a standard All Wheel Drive setup, but was later changed to the current Rear Wheel Drive only format. The Silverado SS also comes with the Z60 performance suspension and 20 inch chrome wheels. [edit] Intimidator SS In 2006, Chevrolet released a special edition Silverado SS under the name "Intimidator SS" (licensed by Dale Earnhardt Inc..) to honor the late Dale Earnhardt. The truck that came with several minor appearance upgrades, a lowered ride height, performance suspension, two-stage multi-leaf springs, Tenneco shocks, a stiffer front stabilizer bar and harder front jounce bumpers, but left the bulk of the truck the same as the regular SS.[3]
  13. your supposed to run 91-93 octane regardless in the LQ9, you can have your tune tweaked for 93 or 91 if thats what you mean..... edit-sorry zachm89, was trying to get the same point across about premium octane but you beat me by a minute
  14. Trucks looks amazing, I love that color. Makes me wish I had a silver birch w/black emblems, stripes and ducts. Sounds great . I am definitley jealous.
  15. Happy b-day fast4popper, I still remember a post where you had a competition of "how loud your exhaust can go," I believed you pulled around 120 decibals? Thats train horn level and straight
  16. I did not know all those facts, very interesting and does make you proud to be American. I saw the change of guard on a field trip to DC when I was in 9th, if anyone said a word, they were kicked out of the changing of the guard. One smarta$$ from a different school laughed and he was grabbed and taken out, all I saw was the back of his shirt and him being escorted out.
  17. That's what I would do. Cops love to mess around with any type of tint where I live, sticks out like a sore thumb also and looks shady. I do agree the truck looks alot better with tints, but a ticket isn't worth it imo. To each his own though
  18. Dont forget a tune asap, your flowmasters will hurt your low end. If you like a loud exhaust without having to lose low end, I personally would choose Billy Boat. I have heard they are too loud sometimes. Just thought I would put B&B out their to see if you like it . Congrats on the newer SS Sound clips of B&B http://www.streetfire.net/video/Silverado-...thl3_714362.htm http://www.streetfire.net/video/Ford-Ya-Later_164021.htm Thread about the B&B and some owners who have it http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...p;amp;B+exhaust http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...p;amp;B+exhaust
  19. I have an old friend in San Antonio, I should head out on AMtrak and meet up with him and some of you guys, alot of you Texas guys have beautifal SS'. I love the part you drove you 2wd in the snow! We rage a 4x4 gmc z71 in 2wd when we get hit with blizzards or just some accumulation and it is 10x more exciting than the awd (even though its helluva alot more dangerous). AWD is so fun, but its like cheating, its too easy! I use to race BMWs in the snow ever since I could drive.
  20. I personally like the Gibbs more than the DEI ss wing, looks like it is more functional. Good point on the tailgate/wing theft. Just have to get buy some goodies to prevent it.
  21. Get rid of it, I just have stock tints and sunglasses do the trick. I am a night person so I did drive alot at night so tints only make visibility worse, I think for you if you are out during the day you might want to keep them, but if you drive alot at night I would get rid of them. Just keep her parked in the shade or purchase a truck cover and no worries about fading, might be a pain to put the cover on alot but keep your paint and interior nice
  22. very nice looking truck sir, if I were you and did satin black the rims out, I would also do the same to the SS emblems and blacken out the air ducts ( silver birch w/black emblems and air ducts is my favorite color). Otherwise I would keep the rims the way they are and keep the emblems matching.

    Ram Air Hood

If it was myself, I would keep it the aluminum finish. I like the grey stock grille w/the grey air ducts on my truck, it really stood out to me when I originally looked at the truck before purchase. Can you dry fit the grille and take some pics as how it looks w/ the aluminum finish? I liked blacked out trucks, I just think the the air ducts stick out on the our trucks and makes it unique. I think the aluminum street scene hood grille would compliment the air ducts nicely. Either way, cant go wrong

    coming along very nice!
  25. I always say use the search button, but I also include links to video and sound clips. Not trying to be a smartass but without the search button I would not be able to post up those vids/sound clips I refer some people to. Back to your exhaust, happy to hear you got the muffler and sound/tone you like
