  1. Amen to that. And lord save this site. I know if things dont change I will not be coming back here, I have made great freinds on this site and that is all I need to have help with my truck, dont need to be criticized by certain people that dont have respect. I joined this site and it was great in august 2008 (just have a different screename now). Only thing I have noticed recentley is bad attitudes and big egos like stated. Maybe they should lock the site for a month and let everyone chill, as well as their egos.
  2. It depends on what you like/want, oiled filter vs. dry filter and open filter vs. completely concealed airbox. Check out the cai wars, that will give you information as well as the search button, this question is asked repetively. With the K&N you will have higher internal engine temps, compared to lower temps with the completely sealed airbox from GMPP. GMPP ftw between these two intakes imo.

The Bilsteins will provide a more firm ride than the stock suspension. The Edelbrock IAS change, when on rough roads they soften up and on nicely paved roads they are firm. I used Eibach for a 325ix and it was the kit of choice for those bmws, however I dont know how they are with their truck kits, I would stick to something that have been proven or recomended here, cant hurt to try them though, to each his own. I just have not heard of anyone that has the Eibach kit yet on an SS
  4. quickness, hotness Glad I made joke of the day for you 2.
  5. I went to Blackbear's sight online and it says Springfield, MA. I respect everyone's decision on what tune they take, . PM me some more info you know on ESP, would like to hear
  6. I would like to add for the Blackbear tune session that Hadley is 30-45 minutes north of Springfield,MA. Would not be happy to show up in Springfield only to find out to drive another 30 mins to get to Hadley. If I did not have ESP near me or New England Dyno I would go Wheatley.
  7. Sorry about the confusion man. I have never heard of HEB before so I did not know the red and blue was uniform related

Bilstein ftw. However if the roads around you are not in great shape and in rough condition I would go Edelbrock IAS.
  9. Let me know when you call and PM me back some info, I might get mine done when you go and maybe we can get a deal together. I mentioned that certain members name who is pulling the 14.18 1/4 mile and they said "O ya, no kidding we remember working on his truck. We loved working with him." So maybe we can get a deal together, they did hint at something like that. edit- Like I said before, I live within 5-10 minutes of them and I am willing to put their sticker on my rear windshield to show their great work. I am sure they want a good word about them around town, then again they already have a great customer base.
  10. PM me if you would like some info. I saw the chief of Neurologic surgeon and an Orthopedic surgeon, I already saw the nuerosurgeon in late 07 however my situation was not as bad then and he wanted more diagnostic testing to see if it was my TMJD (jaw muscle/joint issue) or the disks causing my problems. I can give you the number to New England Baptist Hospital if you would like. I just saw the pics of the accident, thank god I did not purchase the SRT-10 Nite Runner I test drove.
  11. well said Wody about the age, who gives a shit how old you are and what you drive. Red is the most pulled over vehicle, like Black is the most prone to accidents. Definitley true Vidal, I thought for some reason you are going to school for law enforcement or something related to that? If so you should mention that to the cop and become freinds with them. I have been lucky once, was going 85 in a 65 but the state policeman saw the police antenna on my truck (from the original owner). I was in the fast lane, moved into the middle lane and waved at me when we were side by side on the 3 lane highway, then he floored his crown victoria with a smile and raced away. I think he wanted a part of the SS
  12. It would be interesting, and one of a kind for these trucks. This is a sport truck and that is why they have cloth interior as an option, it is alot more safe to have cloth interior than leather when taking corners at 70+mph. I am not trying to argue in anyway, but look at real race cars, they have cloth not leather. I would rather have real flames coming out of the truck's exhaust, than have fake flames painted on the truck, go real or go home IMO. Both of those ideas I would not do to my own SS, but go for it if you like, to each his own As far as tailgaters, I will be adding lights to the rear of my truck.
  13. I am not sure how long it would take, but IMO they are only working on your truck and only concentrate on you/your SS. I know they only do tunes on fridays (I think its every other friday), unless they have changed days. I have spoken to them many times and will be going with them, great customer service and very friendly. The tuner has worked on LS engines for some time and his tuning speaks for itself. I would highly suggest giving them a call, let them know your interested and want a ballpark figure on time. I know they are hella busy during spring/summer/fall, now is the best time to get in their.
  14. Damn Justin, just keep your head up. I also found out I need neck surgery today and mortality rate is high . Life is a pendulum, you just happen to be on the side of bad ish right now, it will swing back to great times for you soon. Hang in their. I dont think your dr. would appreciate self medication, thats just my .02, just listen to him and you will be taken care of.
  15. If I were you, go to New England Dyno, they are in your state. You could also go to ESP (Enhanced Street Performance) in central MA 5 minnutes from me, they brought one members SS down to a 14.18 1/4 mile and he has a 160 stat, corsa exhaust and cai intake, thats pretty damn impressive IMO. I am sure Blackbear can provide a great tune also. Its all up to you. edit- the member with the ESP tune has a pic of him at a dragstrip and he is almost pulling a wheely at takeoff for the 1/4 mile, and he is awd.
  16. When I brought my truck in at 49k for its 50k service, I told them to replace every single liquid/oil and filter throughout the whole truck, with all synthetic fluids. I told them to go OCD on the truck. I believe the price was around $500. Off the top of my head this is what they did; transmission flush and filter, front and rear differentials, transfer case, Mobil 1 engine oil and Hastings filter, intake filter, cabin filter, fuel filter and I am sure some other things I am missing.
  17. I had a thread some time ago about the same intake (under my other name 03maSSS). One thing I was disapointed about the Powercore is they do not have the ram air scoop for our brake ducts available, so that drove me away from it. However I have thought of making the airbox custom so I can attach the scoop and have the Powercore technology filter. I am not a fan of oiled filters, that is why I really like this system. I was not happy to find out it is not a true enclosed intake though. From the members who had it and responded to my thread, I only remember hearing positive things about it. edit- Here is my old thread about the intake http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...olant+powercore
  18. I am so sorry to hear about this Justin. It brings back memories of my grandfather who purchased my SS for me after I took care of him for 2 years (terminal cancer in lungs, brain and spine). All I can say is spend time with her, I do not know if it is operable but I pray that it is. You are in my thoughts and prayers for sure, you helped me out last time and I owe you one. The thing my grandfather enjoyed most was specifically my company, wether it was just eating a burger from McDonald's or watching the Red Sox break the curse of 1918 together in 2004. I know you have your hands full with your job, I can only suggest to spend as much time as you possibly can with her. I will never forget my grandfathers smile when I walked into his apt. at the assisted living spot to eat that burger or watch that game. She is in my prayers along with you and your family.
  19. I have an appointment with my surgeon tommorow. I will grab a dr. directory, it is the same hospital as the Boston Celtics use. I had surgery in the same room as KG (3 surgical rooms, and I had 3 surgeries, 1 in each room).
  20. Yes, we were. BTW I love your truck and the taste of mods you have done to it
  21. I cant wait to see Peyton Manning pick apart that weak defense. They looked like deer in the headlights most of the game.
  22. I am sorry to hear this freind. I was also involved in a car accident and have permanent nerve damage throughout my body (my right eye does not stop twitching due to bone on bone in my neck on 3 disks and the nerves are f*d). Too risky of a surgery to fix as the odds are against me and I will croak if I have surgery. I also have severe nerve damage in my left ankle on the main root nerve, which my only option is to cut off the nerve, however no surgeon will do that as I will loose complete sensation in my ankle. From this, I have learned that only pushing myself harder and harder I am dealing with the pain in my ankle and slowly regaining some motion with horrendous pain. I can not really answer for her situation, but just keep pushing and never give up. Unfortunately insurance companies are the big block in front of some patients recieving the help they need. I go into Boston as the drs/surgeons/and hospitals in central MA could not help me with anything, and also refused to help me (its a long nasty story and a court case in the works). Rehab/Physical therapy might help, I know for instance they used a TENS Unit machine on my ankle and it helped me walk much better, sadly it was only temporarorily fix for about 30 minutes. The PT nurse offered me a TENs unit to take home and it has helped me out alot, still only temporarily though. I could give you some numbers in Boston, dont know if thatll help since your across the land. PM me if you have any more questions sir. I hope the best for her as I was in a car accident and should not be here according to drs.
  23. The guy I plowed with owned a Chevy dealership for over 50 years, and went with a Ford for diesel. Did not have one problem at all, 6.0 litre engine. He loves my truck and likes Chevy, but Ford is far more burly and stonger diesel, in our opinions. edit-yes the new ford diesels have issues, no question. I know the plow truck was 4-6 years old so it is not a new one that has those catastrophic issues.
  24. Meachem did not have control of that ball, sorry. Go Colts!
