    Hockey Stripe

It might be a little loud. How about yellow, bright green or orange.
  3. Has anyone got any stripes on red SS?I'm looking for the ones running down from the hood acrooss the fender. If you have anything else post it anyway. Thanks
  4. Has anyone had this problem.I haven't pulled it to look yet. Thanks
  5. Does anyone have a code or know of a paint that matchs? Thanks
  6. That would work.We also have 94 around here.I guess you would have to work out miles per dollar to see if spending more on higher octane was worth it.I gonna try meth later this summer and see how it will work on a NA motor with a tune formulated just for lower octane and meth.It might not work but it sure would be cool to run 87 octane and big timing.
  7. I'm surprised you don't get better mileage.I'm not a big fan of shorty headers.I hope they work for you.Nothing wrong with a mail order tune as long as you are not trying to set any records. One of the biggest problems I see is that guys don't do a follow up and send logs back to the tuner.I just want some of the basics of the stock tune cleaned up.I'm not looking to or expect a huge gain in power.Power was third on my list of priorities.I think a mail order tune works well for a dead stock truck like mine.Once you start doing mods and different combinations then the dyno tune really starts to pull ahead. If I was expecting big power then I would have a single turbo or twins on this truck in a heart beat.It just seems kinda fruitless to make a 2 1/2 ton truck go fast. When I first got my twin turbo C5 tuned I towed it 600 miles and spent 3 days in Detroit just to have it done by one of the best in the world.A proper tune on a serious car will cost you $700-900 for a 3 bar.At $200 for a mail order it's a good deal and I plan on doing some back up logs to get it close. My tuner will probably wish I had never contacted him. I appreciate your advice and thanks for posting.
  8. If you go that route be sure the computer is sending the proper readings or you will have accomplished nothing.I would mount a water and oil gauge below the heater controls.Get quality gauges that have a preset warning system.I just got these Spek gauges for my C5.They are very slick and have more functions then any other stand alone gauge. One thing I really like is these gauges are over size and still fit in a 2 1/16 hole. The gauge face has a shoulder and is larger then the internals on the back of the gauge.I know it's nice to have the factory look but if you are serious about watching your motor then you can't beat these and they would be much cheaper then doing a whole dash. Good luck.
  9. I went through a tank of gas this week.I barely got 300 miles out of it.It averaged 13.9 and would get 17 on the highway now and again.Any kind of a grade and it would drop quite a bit.My 5.3 2WD got 400 easy driving a lot more aggressively.I can't wait to see what it will be like when I tow my other car.I might keep my 5.3 just for towing. I guess the extra weight and AWD really hurts mileage.Maybe the hot setup would be a 5.3 2WD SS with a blower. There must be someone out there that has done it. My tune is on the way and as soon as the weather brakes I will build my own CAI.When you say exhaust,do you mean a complete system or just headers or just from the manifolds back?Do you think gutting the cats would make a difference? In the summer I will pull the injectors and send them out to be cleaned. Again.I still love this truck.
  10. They are real nice cars.No major issues as GM had the cars fairly worked out by 2002.I have a 2000 C5 and it ran great till I decided I wanted to be the fastest on the block. Don't worry about the rear. It's not till you get into 600+HP that you will have problems.Join corvetteforum.com.Great bunch of guys and very knowledgeable. The only problem with a car like this is because of the low miles it will be worth a lot less if you put more miles on it compared to a higher mileage car that will probably drive just as well and you will get a newer year car for the same money. My car had 85K on it when I bought it and it drove like new.I wouldn't let that hold you back from buying it though. If you love it then buy it.I would look at a bunch of them before you buy though. You learn more and more every time you look at one. There are some killer deals on C5s right now.Not a very good comparison but about 2 months ago I was looking at a 900+HP C5 that had absolutely every mod you could think of.Built by the right people. The guy had over 100K in the car and it sold for 25K:omg: .It had a Procharger on it.I'm a turbo guy but I was still willing to buy it. Good luck.
  11. Both your trucks look great.the blue SS looks great on the snow.Must be cause I'm Canadian. I finally got some shots today. It has been and still is raining all week. The black 99 is the one I'm replacing. It was a good truck. Thanks
  12. They look great on black.Very nice.
  13. Good job. A guy on Ebay wants $200 exchange. What was your total cost? Thanks
  14. I'm actually in Toronto but my mail box is in Niagara Falls NY.That is where I get all my US parts sent to.I list my address in NY as I have lost a lot of sales because board members in the US do not want to ship to Canada. Can you send pics and details to [email protected] I also have a lot of GN parts if you need anything. I would also sell/trade my painted SS wheels and tires. Thanks Ken
  15. I was really looking for a set of chrome 20" SS wheels.I can get a great deal on these.I can't decide. They look a little dated to me.Would look great on a older truck.
  16. Check Toronto Kijiji. There are a couple of L80s listed.
  17. Forget the Cometics.Get the LS9 gaskets.
  18. Do you need any parts for that orange T ? I have a whole shop full.Nice wheels.
  19. Well not really a mod.I just replaced my volume button. It's a nice feeling spending under $30 and 5 minutes to make an improvement.
  20. Hard to get a warranty as good as Performabuilt offers.Frank does nice work and he gives great backup. He's usually on Yahoo chat till about 3:00 in the morning.Only other company that I know of that are one of the best is RPM.I broke a part in mine and it sent debri all through the trans. It was my fault when I installed it in my C5 and they offered to fix it for nothing knowing it wasn't their fault.I didn't even buy the trans directly from them.I bought it fresh from a friend and they were still going to take care of me.Don't buy the cheapest one.Buy the best and you'll save money when you won't have to buy it again.A lot of guys make big power and then they go to a local trans shop because it was convenient and they didn't want to ship.Big mistake. Good luck.
  21. Well.I don't know what I was on when I posted.I checked today and at 70 MPH it's showing 7200 RPM and when I did the brake test the RPMs went up about 200 but it's hard to see with that tach. The GN tach is digital and you can see one bar light up.My mileage seems to have straightened out too.It is averaging 13.9 and has been as high as 18 on the highway. Thanks
