  1. I took my 03 SS to my truck guy to check on a vibration. At 60 MPH it just sounds like exhaust but at 80+ it turns into a growl and you can feel it in the floor. Not real bad.He went over the truck and said my front transfer case needs a bushing. It's a little loose but not real bad and no leaks. He wants $400-500 to replace it and install an update kit which is supposed to make it last longer.Has anyone heard of this kit and do you think this is a good deal.He also said if the vibration is not a big problem then to just drive it and leave it alone. I told him I'll be doing brakes soon.He has owned a lot of GM trucks. He said if the last guy didn't use anti seize then the front rotors will be a bitch to remove.Does anyone have a special method here or do I just get out the sledge. He said he ruined a hub once trying to remove it with a sledge.. Thanks
  2. I was just letting you know as you said it was your first time. Most racers don't post their RT.They post ET,MPH,60'. Like 8.72 @ 158 with 1.31 60'.These are my best numbers in the 1/4.
  3. He now wears a shirt that says "HEAD BANGER".
  4. In case you didn't know your reaction time has no affect on your ET.

  6. They'll be in my new sig.;)
  7. I sold my OEM wheels.I had to put these on while new ones come in.Not bad as a winter wheel. The truck picked up from a roll.Shorter tire makes it feel like 4:56.
  8. You mean you don't like the Escalade look?LOL.You're right. When you bring up the pic of them on an SS they do look like Escalade wheels.Looking at just the wheel itself to me they look like SS wheels.IMO.Another member told me the same thing. I love those M8 wheels! They were my first choice.Only problem is I can't find a 6 to 5 bolt adapter;).They only come in 5 bolt. .I appreciate your opinion.
  9. Are steel belts a problem on trucks?I have older Falkens on my C5 and they have worked out well. Thanks
  10. You have a couple of options. The chrome Trailblazer SS wheels are nice and they have a factory look. There is a guy who is chroming those wheels on Ebay and maybe he could do a set of silver SS wheels.I'll bet he would drop the price if some guys got together and sent in a couple of sets.I'm almost sorry I sold mine now. Check the Sport Muscle V11 on Tire Rack.Even though it is a 7 spoke it's the closest I've found to the factory wheel and they are cheap.
  11. This size calculater will help decide on different size tires.I wouldn't think that I would have to get the BFGs,especially at that price and if they are not available.I'm sure there are other tires that are just as good or close for less money. You really need to decide if you are going to do any autocross driving or you just want a quality tire that will handle some spirited driving.I think putting an expensive low wear tire on a 5300# truck is nuts.IMHO. Good luck. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit
  12. I'd be down for a set but I will be buying within 2 weeks.I think I'm getting Sport Muscle V11s.
  13. Man.That is one nice looking SS.I almost wish I hadn't sold my wheels. How much of a drop and what size tires are you running?
  14. IMO.If you love the truck and the motor doesn't fall out next week, then you got a deal. It's an old saying but so true."The quality remains long after the price is forgotten." I've gotten some killer deals in my time and I've probably bought more vehicles and parts then anyone you know.I've also bought vehicles and paid too much in someone else's eyes.I would much rather pay a little more and get the vehicle I love then pay less for something I regret later. If you get the right truck and you get it cheap then GREAT.Buying and selling stuff is a crazy game sometimes.I've seen people advertise a part super cheap and they are firm on the price. It's not really the right way to move something fast but that's just the way some people are. They will get all kinds of calls and everyone will offer them $20 less then they are asking. The seller says no and the buyer walks away, even though it was a good deal for the asking price.Even though it was the only part available at the time the buyer still walked. The seller finally finds the same part and offers the buyer half of what the asking price is.(low balling). In a couple of weeks the part screws up and the buyer buys another one and ends up paying more then he would if he had bought the first part.Again.
  15. I don't want any drone or too much louder then stock while cruising.Wide open loud is ok.I've ruled out Magnaflow because of drone even though their complete kit is supposed to be good.If I have to do a little fabricating that is ok. Thanks
  16. That is a complete cat back kit for a crew cab short box.Good deal. http://www.corsaperf.com/product_display.aspx?product=552
  17. As far as I know they all have surge brakes. If they do you can't use a brake controller. Some states have different laws on surge and electric brakes. If you have never towed before I suggest you rent a trailer for one weekend and give it some practise. The internet is loaded with info.I've towed for over 40 years.BE CAREFULL.Especially in the rain.Trailer tire pressure is critical.Get your gas card ready. Good luck.
  18. LOL.I think I have a new idea for stripes.
  19. Thanks guys.At least I know they will fit.Still havn't decided if they will look good on my truck.I'd rather have 5 or 6 solid spokes.Something closer to the stock wheels. It is a good deal though.
  20. I have a chance to buy these American Racing wheels. They are 6 x 5.5 and came off a Titan .They have Hancock 275/55 /20 tires on them. Will they fit? What do you guys think they willl look like?I'm afraid they look more like car rims then truck.I'm going to try to duplicate the look of Autoguy's SS with white stripes.I plan on dropping the truck 2".You can be straight up.I can take it. Thanks
