  1. WOW! Nice.I'll bet that was more then a couple of hundred.
  2. WOW!Nice truck.Unique stripes.Are those 22s?
  3. Looks great.Nice touch. Here is a good method to install the emblem if you want to do it yourself. It's important to follow the steps exactly as written. 1 Apply a small amount of spit to the centre of your forehead.Human spit is ok but I found Hummingbird spit is the best. The little suckers r a bitch to catch but once you get one, give him a little squeeze and his tongue will pop right out.Wipe directly on forehead. 2.Apply SS emblem to the same area.Don't forget to keep the concave side out.If you are less then 5' tall then apply the emblem to the top of your forehead and adjust your seat to maximum height. 3. Start with your truck exactly 100 yards from a large oak tree.Do not use a birch as they flex too much. 4.Accelerate to exactly 28 MPH and just before you hit tuck your chin down to your chest. 5.Once you regain consciousness find the air bag cover and you will notice the emblem is perfectly installed. 6.Find your rear view mirror and take a look. You will notice a perfect SS impression on your forehead.Find your favorit lip stick and fill in impression.Sorta a modern day Charlie Manson look.In a crowd it will also help you find your fellow SS brothers. This method is definitely for off road use only.Have fun. PS.This is in no way a sarcastic response to this thread.Chase has done a great job here and I really am considering one.Just your morning laugh. Take care.
  4. Interesting. What results did you see at the track after installing the ram air tube? Thanks
  5. Mostly for looks. At your stage of the game you can get your best bang for the buck with a tune, exhaust and CAI.After each major mod you can get a retune or do everything at once and then a final tune.If you get a mail order tune from one of the tuners on this forum, you can keep your original computer for a small core charge. That way if you need a retune you can send the original in and your truck won't be down while you wait for the mail/UPS truck.Plugs, wires and a change of all fluids is a good idea including changing the orange Dexcool anti freeze. After 5 years it gets acidic and will eat your gaskets.Have fun.
  6. Tough call.If you have a lot of miles and your springs are getting tired,a lower shift point is better. If the truck stops pulling just before the shift ,then it's too high.Even a couple of hundred RPM lower then it can handle is better then getting into valve float ,which only certain guys could recognize. If you are serious about power and you have over,say,80K then it would be a good investment to buy some LS6 springs. They are cheap.

    Oil Guage

You're getting screwed.Problem is most mechanics won't do anything the simple way. They can't make money if it only takes 20 minutes. At least you know what it is now.Nice to have a local shop you can trust that would do it the easy way.Do you have any friends who know an honest mechanic?Hard to find I know.Worth the drive to find the right guy. Good luck.
  8. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=13708836 If you can't get it off you can put it back together untill you find the right tool. Good luck.
  9. $400? Am I missing something? http://www.streetperformance.com/part/reflexxion/hood/563364-707600.html
  10. I agree except on the anti seize.Talk to any racer with aluminum heads and they will tell you to use anti seize or a few drops of oil.Aluminum threads strip and corrode much easier then iron threads.Just good practise.
  11. I had 4 wheels and tires shipped from Vegas to Detroit for $200.They went on a pallet with Forward Air.Greyhound is also cheap.Go to a wheel and tires store and see if they have any old boxs for 22s. Good luck.
  12. That was true in the beginning. Now they make street shocks for all trucks.
  13. It looks like most forum members like the Bilsteins or Belltech shocks. Is anyone out there running Ranchos?A mechanic friend of mine put them on his 4 x 4 Silverado and he really likes them. Thanks
  14. WOW! That is about 500 miles per tank.My 5.3 RWD can't touch that.
  15. I know this sounds dumb but did you ck the fluid level?Call the shop that did the rebuild. Good luck.
  16. Lucky the big kid didn't get pissed off.
  17. I would put it in first. If it shifts too hard your already at the trans shop.
  18. Thanks. The hair dryer got half of it and leaving the housing over a furnace vent cleared up the rest.
