Every vehicle I've ever rode in does it, except a Mercedes, they somehow sense when the window is up and disable the up part of the switch.

I assume the TB has the same radio as the silverado does. This way requires some electrical know how. Here. Or you can get a pac adapter and plug and play, but it will cost more.

Yeah, if you have xm, it couldn't be easier, but if you don't you have to buy a module to make it work.

An 03 with 160k, I'd say 10k, TOPS, but probably not even that. If you're in Ga like you say rust won't be a problem. So just make sure the tranny pulls good and the engine runs smooth for the most part. And of course turn on and try all the electronics. EDIT- The Kbb on a 2003 ss with 160k is $9210.00

Never heard of that code on a gasoline silverado, is the CEL on? A lot of times that code comes up if your code reader is incompatible with your vehicle.

You can't compare foreign octane to U.S. octane, it's measured differently. Their 98 is like our 93 basically. Little bit of info.
