  1. Welcome to the site man ?? yeah although they only made 933 of them, they're actually a bit more common than you think if you're thinking of letting her go man I would be in the market for one in a couple of months, depends on where you are located as I am not trying to buy one out of state..

  2. I run a Magnaflow and it does have some drone but I also have long tube headers no cats and its dumped. It has a good low rumble bit is still quiet on a stock SS. There are some really good mufflers out there. Bassani, Borla, Corsa, these are also good quality and good flowing mufflers.

Thanks man know anywhere of where i can hear some soundbits? Want to know how they sound before i invest in one,,, also dual in/out or single in/dual out?

  3. This is full of fail.. These trucks don't need a bunch of back pressure to get going. 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and 1.80 60ft times lol I need no help. Flowshitters are at the bottom of the flow charts. If your looking for performance get a muffler with no baffles. Each to there own and everyone has an opinion. Just depends on what your looking for.

Hey Jason or to anybody else on here i currently have a flowmaster 40 series muffler with single in dual out installed on my 97' Chevy and yeah it drones too much but i knew nothing of mufflers at the time and i wanted something that was louder than the stock muffler it came with, i haven't touched my '03 SS for the same reason, is magnaflow a better muffler? Like no drone? and louder? I want to be careful what i install on my SS i want it to sound nice..

  4. When I was looking for my truck I considered getting an ISS briefly but I would have done the same thing. I am not a DE fan (don't hate me) and thought it was a bit gaudy and over the top. I like the spoiler but I can't stand the head rests, side badges etc. and was planning to remove and store the parts I look off. To each their own which is why they make different favors right!

Absolutely correct Matt... Couldn't have put it any better I think one thing that we can all agree on is that Chevy SSS is one badass truck! I think I might just pull the trigger on this Intimidator, other day I started listing the pros and cons of it and I came up with far more Pros than Cons haha

  5. The Info I posted earlier was not correct.

The Vin listed in his auction is correct. I have also confirmed it is a real DEI SS truck.

The original wing & hardware are missing from when the Tonneau cover was installed. The Intimidator badges were removed as the owner felt "they looked cheesy" so he removed them.

Those things along with the current condition and the fact that it is missing the COA, I don't fell it is worth any where close to what he is asking. JMHO

Yeah don't understand why he would take off the intimidator badges, those are what give the intimidator it's bad ass look... shame some people don't know what they have or what they're doing... either way if it is an intimidator then they sured stripped it of all it's unique features

  6. Yeah you should have included that in the first post. It seems a little high considering mileage. For the kind of money he is asking it should have nearly new tires. All maintenance history and should be all up to snuff of maintenance and should be detailed like it's fresh off the showroom for that kind of coin. Just my 2 cents. At the end of the day i used to have a saying.... People would ask me if they got a good "deal" on a car purchase. Only one person it matters to if you got what you want and you think you paid a fair price then yes you got a good deal.

yeah if you look at this right here this is approximately what it's worth, he bought it for 20k 3 1/2 years ago and has only driven it 3,000 or so miles since he's got it and it's been garage kept, all stock and comes with the COA stating that it's #539 so to me it's worth the risk i dpn't think he'll take anything less than 20k i could probably offer him 19 or 18K right?

  7. The way I look at it is, if you really want something, youll pay whatever they want.

When I found my SS after 3 months of looking, I knew it was the perfect one, and I had made up my mind that, that was the one I wanted.

Did I get a good deal? Not really, but I was able to hassle the guy down a couple grand, which was a huge plus for me, but in the back of my mind that didn't matter because I knew I was gonna get it regardless.

Moral of the story is, if you genuinely want it then get it, but considering you have to ask, then you probably don't want it that bad, and its something you wanna look back at someday and not regret. Good luck

yeah Erick, best thing to do here is offer him 20k that's what he paid for it so he doesn't take a loss on it and just breaks even on it

  8. No harm in trying. A small amount less than asking price isn't an insult. If you tried to offer him substantially less, I could see him coming unglued and blowing off the whole deal - depending on how serious he is about selling.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll keep us posted. Sounds like a really sharp truck!

    Richard

Yeah you're right i'll probably regret it later if I don't get it,seems like too many miles though 90k...

  9. Agreed with Johnny, when you're talking 19.5-21K, 1500 really shouldn't be enough on either side to blow the deal. If he's not willing to meet you in the middle, then I guess you'll just have to ask yourself if you want it that bad. If I were in your position I'd try lower first, and haggle up as needed. It's not like you're trying to offer him 15K.

    Richard

Thanks Richard, the reason why I think he wouldn't take less than 20k is because that's the price he paid 3 years ago and he's only driven it 3,000 miles since he got it plus the COA's only were given to the original owners of the trucks i believe that one is #539 of 933 and it has a sunroof! Haha not that that matters but it's cool  , I could perhaps ask him to break even on it because I don't think he'd be willing to take a loss...

  10. Hello there fellow SS members, just wanted to get a quick opinion from everybody no reason just out of curiosity, if someone were to be selling you a real 2006 SSS Intimidator in immacualte condition and you checked the miles and the bluebook value to see what it was worth and in bluebook it came out to $19,500. The guy suppose wanted 21k but the truck came with the COA and original owners manual and everything and again it's in immaculate condition, what's your guys take on this?

  11. Hey everyone I'm Luis from sacramento ca. Diehard chevy guy always loved silverados and especially the ss silverado. I just recently purchased a 2003 single cab silverado with a 5.3 that I would love to convert to a clone. Slowly but surely I will. Hope to be able to get help and feedback from everyone on the fourm. Happy holidays everyone

Welcome to the SS forum man! Great to have you, if you need help with your SS clone a friend of mine has a clone but recently got hit and prefers to just buy a new truck, he is parting out with everything, the SS Interior is available if you are interested in that?

  12. personally i never get the urge to sell mine, they're unique trucks, mostly when i look into buying a truck it's a unique truck, one that i will get compliments on and will look in awe as i pass by in it, next year is the year when i will get a second SS the Intimidator to be xact from one of the members on here. After that idk if i will keep both the 03 and the intimidator also but probably not in that case then i will sell my red SS but not now..

  13. personally to me the SSS a unique truck, i see guys with new 2015 Silverado 1500's but its not a unique truck everybody has it, rarely do you see an SSS, that's why people stare at me when i cruise by with my Red 03' SSS, it's fun to have something that nobody else has especially the compliments that I get or that all of us SSS owners get, i say stick with the truck, mine has 160k miles on it, even when i get to the 300,000 miles mark i will just rebuilt the motor because that's how much i love it! SSS all the way brother...

  14. i have an 03 SS and wanted to change the sound of it when you start it, all the trucks i've had, i never altered them, i always kept them all stock, but i like the deep rich growl of some modified trucks, i've heard putting a new muffler will change the sound like a flowmaster muffler. but any ideas i don't want it to sound obnoxiously loud, i've also heard the thicker the pipe the louder the sound, any ideas?
