  2. So Im dealing with a bit of a dilemma, I went to go play billiards tonight, parked my SS on the street and I came out to the surprise that the car behind me hit the rear bumper and bent it in lnward on the right side! ? some paint chips came off but the bumper is bent in a lot anything and it has a dent anything I can do to fix it? I wonder what route the insurance is gonna take when I report it to them?

  3. Hey guys, i pretty much almost completed getting my SS right, put some limo tints on, installed a better stereo receiver, put a high end viper alarm, repaired the cluster and dropped some LED's in there, i was always curious on getting a custom license plate, idk what i would want it to say though  i want something clever, any ideas would be greatly appreciated as well as keeping in mind that 7 characters is the max

  4. Newbie question...What radio this this truck come with? Got a picture? Want to be on the look-out for one, to put-back to stock.

The pioneer is working very well, just want it original (or at least have an original on stand-by!).

Thanks in advance! You guys are a treasure trove of info!

I have one that came out of my 04'

  5.

Thanks Blown 346, some people understand that, some don't. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. But when certain commemorative limited edition vehicles are made for one year only, and they become more rare as the numbers decrease, they become more desirable and valuable to some, but maybe not others.

Thanks for everyone's opinions here, truck just sold to someone from L.A. who flew in to buy it and drive it back.

Congrats on your sale  I found an 04' SS with 32k on the meter, no hard feelings man

  6. Anybody here rebuild and repair instrument clusters? I got my SS and it was flawless except for the oil pressure gauge doesn't work, the RPM one goes way up to 6,000, and the speedometer does as well, so who rebuilds them for a good price? Don't know if these need to be programmed again or not..

  7. Just picked her up guys, she's home i couldn't get to the alarm installation shop to get a nice alarm installed however it has a club on it right now, factory alarm, and i blocked off my driveway with my other chevy truck so that they could not tow it.. i feel a bit at ease but not as much as i would if i had a VIper alarm on there

  8. I say just enjoy the truck and drive it.. its not like thieves are just looking for our trucks.. there are way nicer and more expensive cars out there and people still drive them everywhere... Im not saying not to add stuff that will help prevent getting it stolen, but whats the case of spending 20K or whatever you spent on it just to stare at it in the garage.. just enjoy your truck bro and dont be all paranoid about it.. itll suck for you and your family if you cant even go grocery shopping without being in a rush just because you think the truck is gonna get stolen.. just saying

True man, very good points  I have to enjoy the truck i just bought with really low mileage or else what's the point? I however have to take my precautions and do everything in my power to protect my investment.. tomorrow as soon as i pick up the truck from the guy I am going to take it straight to get a Viper alarm with 2-way pager and GPS installed, thanks for all the input guys!

  9. Can you do high end viper with the ravelco and club in stages to do all 3?

As of now i called a few places about the viper alarm and it's around a little over $500 with starter kill and GPS tracking, for the Ravelco installed it's around $550 so right then and there I am looking at over 1.000 dollars easily which i don't have, i have the money to get the high end Viper alarm so i think that is what I am going to do.. not too convinced on the Ravelco  it is basically a kill switch on steroids, i figured i can do a hidden kill switch for much much less than that. The guy i bought it from gave me the club he used for it, he said a friend from the local police department had gave it to him, it's a bright yellow color so it must be a good club..

  10. I am currently stuck in a rut, in my area to install a Ravelco system I'm looking at 499.99 plus tax, or my other option would be to install a high end Viper alarm with GPS tracking, tilt sensors, and starter disable I am looking at 500 for that one as well.. don't know wether to install a Ravelco system with a cheap Viper alarm and then put the club on it, what do you guys think?

  11. Grats on the great find.

Just looked up Ravelco. Sadly there no authorized dealers or installers in my area, nor can I drive out of state to get this installed.

Luckily for you there's a few of them in cali. Sent them an inquiry email. Already had my z71 stolen last year.

Some people say it's good, the rare bunch say it could be bypassed, my initial thought was to install a Viper alarm with a two-way pager, and GPS tracking, if say i go out to dinner with my girl and somebody breaks into the truck, as soon as the door opens the alarm will start sounding and i would be notified on my phone( given that i download the application) and also on my pager, if they do manage to steal it, I can track where it's at, this with a combination of the club, and maybe another security measure like installing a couple of cameras around my driveway would be good IMO, what are you guys thinking?

  12. Hey guys after years and years of searching and patiently waiting i FINALLY got another SS, its an 04' with 32k on the odometer, S & B cold air intake, JBA shorty headers, and a complete sound system, i started this topic to get suggestions from current owners of these trucks to protect it, what would you guys recommend to prevent it from getting stolen, didn't really get into this much because the 1st one i had i only had it for a month when a financial emergency happened i had to sell it? A sure thing besides the obvious storing in a garage.. any tips would be greatly appreciated

  13. You cant fake a SSS an ISS or SS Fbody. Just need to look at the SPID label in the glove box. Look for the right RPO codes. The VIN is also on the label so you can authenticate it. In my opinion why a ISS wont bring big money is it doesnt differ performance wise over a regular SSS. All the ISS package got You was some badges a spoiler and some busy headrests. Yes you got a COA but unless your a diehard Dale fan..... and lets face it hes been gone a long time..... if you want big money it has to have Zero miles. 88k while low isnt exactly new. I have 71k on my Red 06 which from a color standpoint is the most rare

You hit the nail on the head man.. people think that the intimidator brings big bucks just because they fitted the truck with DE headrests, his signature on the cluster, a spoiler, and some badges. The only situation that it would justified for it to bring big bucks is if the truck had 0-2,000 miles on the odometer.. at 24.5 he's going to have the truck for a long time. It really didn't make much sense to me to come on here not knowing and asking opinions to other forum members about what the truck is worth. other members including myself then proceed to tell the guy what it's worth and then he completely ignores everything and lists it for 24.5k, to each their own i guess

  14. UPDATE: So they sent me more detailed pictures a while ago and the rust is all over the frame on the area over the cat, once it's reached the actual frame, that is compromising the integrity of the car, really not worth 20k and they still have it, now you know why because as it turns nobody wants a rusty vehicle

  15. I hate to break it to ya but you may only get a $1000-$1500 premium over a regular ol SS. They are not super race vehicle as one would think. At the end of the day it just a used truck with some added tack on stuff that a regular SS didn't have. Also your going to find that most banks won't finance something that old so it may have to wait for a cash buyer..... At the end of the day it's only worth what someone is willing to pay....

that or trade it in to a dealer to put towards something newer as they would give him bluebook value..
