  1. Hey guys I was looking into doing an LED conversion to a couple of my interior bulbs such as map lights, dome lights, door lights, & puddle lights on the mirrors but was a bit confused because i just did my license plate bulbs(ordered them from superbrightleds.com) and the 194 bulb I received was too big and was touching the lens, I called up their customer service and they sent me the correct bulb,I don't want the same thing happening again so what should I do to assure that the bulbs are the ones I am looking for? Their vehicle bulb finder is allegedly supposed to help you and direct you the exact one but that's what I used for the license plate bulb

The new rams 1/2 tons have coil springs so yes they ride more car like. If the suspension is all original its probably overdue for some new shocks...I

I meant that they were comparing them to the Rams back then in 2004, my truck has 37k miles and it's an uncomfortable ride at times, anything I can do to make the ride more car like? (I know they don't have coil springs but still)

  3. My SS is my daily driver but there are a few deep scratches that are on it that didn't come out with the paint correction so my detail guy recommended a wetsanding, do you guys think this is risky? I don't expect to have mine in showroom condition since it is my daily driver and i don't have a garage to store it just a small driveway but i want to have it looking in the best shape possible, thoughts?

Ive driven trucks all my life 5 different ones.. None this bouncy

the key word here that you put is "crappy" roads, we have crappy roads here in the bay area as well and yes it does get bouncy in the truck, guess it's normal since I am currently at 37k on my odometer , did read one article where these trucks were being compared to Rams, stating that the suspensions on these trucks aren't as fined tuned or good as the Rams, don't know what to think about that however am planning on installing some of those Belltech shocks anyways they seem promising! :jester:

I'll post a few pictures soon as possible. Sorry for the delay guys. I have been busy trying to figure out what to do with the post office losing my brembo brakes last week and losing a window tint kit for my tahoe this week, also a nice bamboo cutting board and a whole mess of wiring connectors.4 different times they have lost my things. Do the last couple months I've only received one package at a time that I've ordered and that was my headlight bulbs

Thanks we'd really appreciate it especially that Eradispeed Kit :jester:

New shocks in with new rear bumpstops and broken in but still bouncy af

Realize that this is a pickup truck with leaf springs in the back, this is most pickup trucks are they are not meant for comfort like Mercedes benz sedans per say, unless the bounciness is unbearable then yes check other things but if it's just bumpy then that is normal especially going over rough roads

  7. I know a few other SS owners around here yet i don't even think they know that this forum exists! would be cool, but as stated above, the thrill to most people of these trucks is gone.. they either decide that the technology is outdated in them and opt to trade theirs in for a new Silverado with all of the modern works or they just lose interest in it in general and trade up for something new. I for one had a choice of either getting a brand new 2018 Silverado from the dealership but I just fell in love with these trucks the first time I saw them and knew I had to have one! :jester:

  9. Glad you found it. Now its time for the 6 High Mod. I also have instructions and pics of how to do that with resistors. text if you want pics of where to place them. You will need to get a simple relay as well for the fogs, and fog light switch.

what is the 6 high mod? lol

  10. So i finally found the wiring! took me about an hour or so because i was looking in the wrong area, but i had this diagram and the harness for the fogs is near the airbag sensors, its's 2 bright yellow plugs that you can see on both ends the wire was clipped with a little clamp into it's "factory area", this is the way GM did it in order to prevent people from noticing or out of the way, if you see the yellow plug look to the immediate left of that should be tucked on top of the frame, the wire colors are purple and black, I attached a picture of the airbag sensor plug I am talking about, this is the drivers side the plug for the harness was literally to the left of that I just could not see it because it was tucked up on top of the frame...

  11. You gotta do fair comparisons, take into consideration that the 4 cylinder for weighs MUCH less than these trucks, these trucks are a little over 5k pounds while that ford was probably around 3k... lighter car equals winning, try racing a more fair comparison like a 5.7 hemi ram from the same era..

  12. wow  what a beauty! Low mileage SS trucks are still out there, they are just getting harder to find.. Mine is currently sitting at 35k, only downside to my truck that I would like is for it to have been an 05-07 for it to be RWD, and a sunroof, that's about it I LOVE my truck though, the way I went about buying mine at that price is I saved some money up and just took out a personal loan for the rest. Sure the interest rate is higher but I got what I wanted in the end :jester:

If it is an extended cab clone I can understand the whole "why buy a fake one" thing. It seems like 90% of the clones I see are regular cabs though which was never a factory option. I have been working on a regular cab clone forever now, it has been a fun project and it's getting a motor built for it this summer so it goes as fast as it looks . Lol.

Some people say allegedly that GM did in fact make some single cabs SS in the first year but I think that is just a rumor floating around more than an actual fact..

  14. Looks promising but yeah Jim's right, check the undercarriage for rust, i speak from experience as I was about to pull the trigger and sign for a truck that was in Wisconsin and it slipped my mind to inspect and ask for pictures until last minute but man am i glad i did, the thing was a complete rust bucket from underneath  the price is also a bit high as I just bought one with 32k miles out here in Cali for $20,500 and it came with LOTS of extras such as headers, complete sound system, and a bed cover

My '13 work truck 2500HD 6.0 has 259K mi now. Not a drop of oil between 5,000 mi. changes. It gets a lot of highway miles, as well as a bunch of HEAVY towing miles (cruise on, trans kicking down on every hill!). Engine hasn't missed a beat. One of the service 6.0's has over 300K (lots of drivers, zero pampering).

That's a testament to how much these engines can last  and people (mostly Ford guys) say that Silverados are no good lol, I think mostly on the electronic side is where chevy fails, sensors and whatnot
