  1. if i remember, GM was having issues with batteries going dead. been ongoing since 02 and up. posted on another site about a year or so ago, someone was having the same thing as Aspen was having with her SS. what they found was the BCM was the issue. they said to reflash it and should take care of the draining if the battery. only thing i can also remember about it was something was not switching off when it was supposed to due to a bad programing. hope this will help, there may be a TSB somewhere.. good luck

  9. some peoples kids.. I've got one, mines painted steel or powdercoated. They are nice, and the sound is well, lets just say bigger! They are pretty expensive and be prepared to wait quite a while for delivery. Often when I go to pass a car at WOT, they will pull over, I believe in fear, cause it sounds kinda like the space shuttle lifting off
  10. i have the clicking in mine for about 4 yrs. after the last intermediate shaft change it went away. asked the dealer about it and he said something about a "clock spring" on the shaft.. i can't recall any more, sorry C.R.S is setting in a lot lately good luck
  11. not all towers are bad..a lot if not most are very causes on how they handle a vehicle, and i was one of them. 90% of our tows were from law enforcement CHP and sheriff dept. so if a person/company got a bad name for rough handling vehicles, then you would be pulled off rotation and you would louse a very large income. for me just to show up at a accident or someone broke down on the freeway, it cost a minimum of $195.00 and a $195.00 per hr. until i was back at the yard. you pay round trip...so it paid to be nice also when your nice, you can make some nice tips. so just park proper and you will not meet the tow truck from hell...
  12. can't run a pipe out the drivers side in front of the wheel, due to clearance issues with the fuel tank
  13. i worked a tow truck for over 4 years. i did not use a flat bed much, but i ran the recovery truck. so with 2 10 ton winches, a wheel lift rated at 8,000 lbs. of lift not to much i could not get back to the impound yard.. with a flat bed all you need is room to back up to it and winch it onto the bed. MOST tow co. have skids that are placed under the wheels so is will slid up the bed, others don't. when ever i needed to tow anything weather it was broken down, or wrecked, the the drive shaft is removed when lifting it from the front. or it was dolled. not ALL tow truck drivers are kind and gentle with a vehicle. the ones we called car snatchers were paid 20% of the tow bill for illegally parked vehicles under contract with the property owner. so the faster he can get a vehicle towed the more he makes. and the more vehicles are reported stolen because the vehicle was legally parked, and just plain STOLEN.. BTW.. LIST what list..
  14. I'm the same. less than 1 finger out behind the rear wheels..5 1/2 yrs.
  15. i think your "BUDDY" needs to get his a$$ to the dealer and buy your wife a new block heater.. i bet -30-40* keeps the nips hard.. good luck
  16. now all the school district care about is making sure a kid is in class so they can get the state money, and don't care if you learn anything..
  17. public schools in CA. ***SUCK*** try a private school.
  18. there still not CARB. certified. they state that the cats and O2s must remain in the factory stock location. with any LTs, it will move them a few inches farther down from stock even if it will pass the sniffer test..that's the biggest hang up we have about LTs in CA. to get any after market parts CARB. certified cost BIG bucks to go Thur the BS needed for them to approve it.
  19. the best you can do in CA is shorty's or mid. the best were TOGs but there out of business. you can try Doug's i don't know any others off the top right now that are CARB.. or you can go LT's and find someone to look the other way at inspection time, or hassle of removing them for inspection. i have TOGs and there very nice and holding up good after 4 yrs.. good luck
