  1. They're there as early as 8am, but often times they won't be answering the phone... make sure you call first to see if they can even fit you in same day. Don't waste the trip unless you know they have room for you. And FYI... the place is in a really rough part of town and doesn't look like much... but once you see what they do and who they do it for you'll never have a second thought about taking your truck there.
  2. Toy Shop Transmissions 1292 E 3rd St Pomona, CA 91766 (909) 620-5849 Talk to Kendall... I don't think theres a better guy in the area to help you with transmissions and best of all their prices are beyond fair. Let him know me, Chase, Kris, or Adam referred you.... he's helped all of us.
  3. Your helmet?? I traded it for $5 and a half eaten turkey sandwhich from a guy on my way out Thanks for letting me borrow it man... not that I needed with the shit runs I put together today. Even though I stunk it up and broke another tranny I still had a blast... see you guys again on Dec. 2nd.
  4. Well I'm back.... After posting a terrible .551 rt w/ tire spin and a 2.2 60' (pulled a 14.4) on my first run I toasted the tranny on the second pass.... slipping pretty bad so I called it a day rather than having to tow it home. Looks like I'll be investing in tranny upgrades much sooner than anticipated.... and it pisses me off b/c this is already my 2nd transmission in less than 10k miles Chase tore thru 2 belts on his first 2 passes. He managed a 12.08 on the 2nd run even with his belt commiting suicide at the end of the track.... he was heading to Napa autoparts for another belt when I left so hopefully if it held together he got that 11 second pass he was looking for.
  5. if you actually come to the track i will do a backflip!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hope you're ready to show me some acrobatics Chase
  6. Just killed a nice big fillet mignon and a couple of beers for dinner... gonna get to sleep early so I'm primed for tomorrow... see you guys there!!
  7. Yeah... I think DC has done a good job of downplaying the fact the SRT8 doesn't even have the ability to pull a trailer... but if all you want is a pure muscle SUV it does the job. This was a good article that points out where the TBSS shines over the SRT8 http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/10...sport-utes.html From TruckTrend: Advantage - TBSS
  8. I test drove both before making my decision... I like the SRT8... but in the end it made no sense to me. All the performance and ZERO utility... if I just wanted flat out performance an SUV isn't the ideal platform. The TBSS, while not the same level of performance, offers some utilit to it... I can tow and haul stuff, but still have some fun at the track... I guess the best way to put it is that its a balance of fun and work... while the SRT8 is all fun no work... not that thats a bad thing... just the reason I picked the ride I did. If I had kept my truck and decided to get a SUV just for fun and getting around town the SRT would've been my choice in a heartbeat.... but I needed something to fill both roles. Have you driven an SRT8 yet?? Most of the dealers are pretty liberal about lettng you drive em... I had a blast when I did.
  9. This was only the 3rd one I've seen on the road... but then again I don't see too many tbss's either.... maybe muscle-suv's aren't that popular.
  10. Wasn't an easy "drop in" The LS2 was already in the SSR... the SSR is built on the same chasis as the Trailblazer... it was an easy changeover. Also, the SSS was realeased with the LQ9 in 2003, before the LS2 appeared in the C6 Vette... so it would've been a mid model redesign.
  11. I won't know exactly what I run until saturday b/c that'll be the first trip to the track with the TBSS. Stock 2wd TBSS are running from 13.8 to 14.2ish... and I think most SRT8s are in the mid 13's stock... so with my mods that explains the close run. I don't think I could beat him from a stop just b/c hes got the traction advantage... but hell... not too shabby IMO considering the HP disadvantage I'm at.
  12. I ran home at lunch today to take the prego wife something to eat. On my way back I was next to a dark blue SRT8 Jeep as I was about to get on the freeway. We both gave eachother 'the look' and punched it from a slight roll down the ramp... pretty much dead even. Once we got on the freeway we rolled side by side at about 60mph and he signaled me to run em again... so we punched, the TB downshifted funny and lost a split second... this time he started pulling slightly... maybe a fender and stayed there till we let off. We backed off and both looked at eachother smiling from ear to ear... I signaled to go again and he nodded... this time from about 70mph roll and I got the upper hand... pulled slightly on him... I had about a fender on him when we let it go at around 100. He waved me over and I followed him off the freeway and into a nearby parking lot. We both stopped and talked for a minute. Really nice guy and I was the first TBSS he had come accross. I invited him to join the rest of us at CA speedway this weekend so I hope he shows b/c we need to settle this... its gonna be close, and with AWD I think hes got me from a dig. He was bone stock so I'm pretty impressed... even with my tune, CAI and exhaust this is gonna be close.
  13. Just run it what you usually do and deflate them at the track... no sense in running around low before you need to.
  14. I run mine at 33-35 psi on the street... I'm thinking of dropping only a couple of psi to see how it goes... and drop more if needbe on each run till it feels perfect. If I got too low I can always use my onboard compressor to reinflate
  15. Price out the replacement on a transmission... cuz if anything goes wrong that'll be it.
  16. What psi do you think I should run?? I ask b/c you're the old pro
  17. I think the 20's would hurt your times if anything... run on the 17s IMO.
  18. waterblades aren't bad... just unforgiving if theres ANY contamination.
  19. A kid from a tech school posted a 500 over on GMFS... its part of a project the class was working on... I think they were making some ungodly amount of HP with it too.
  20. GET OUT!! Welcome to the forums... we've got a couple of other dodge guys wandering around here somewhere too. Glad to see another enthusiast and not just a brand loyal fan-boy
  21. Where can I view your products and thanks guys for all your opinions/help on this. Brad <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd like to check some of these out... I'm always needing more microfiber.
  22. 14.50's Dylan...trust me! I beat one by 2 thousands in a heads-up time trial in Bakersfield. If it's cool you may go 30's. Good luck! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like chase said... I'm thinking 13's... the 2wd's have been running in the 13.8-14.1 range bone stock... the AWDs are in the mid 14's... with the CAI, exhaust, and dyno tune I'd hope to see something in the 13's... the only thing is launching. I've tried a couple of times to brake stall and launch, but it just spins too damn easy (391.5 ft lbs + stock tires = shitty traction) We'll see... I've got all day to figure it out.
