  1. Well I found an 03 z4 with only 7k miles. Going it to look at it tomorrow. Just a daily still staying on site. Any advice on these cars before purchase?? oops, I posted in the wrong section.

  4. Bad ass set up. Wouldn't a tire closer to 27" put you closer to maxing out 3rd in the 1/4 I want to regear for some 4.56 for some time now. I just missed a used front diff on craigslist for 100$
  5. Leave that stuff together. Just pull the two heater hoses off and two rad hoses. Leave the old stuff unless it's gone. Use a large pair of channel locks. I would get a therm maybe a 160 if your tuning it. I would get a name brand water pump a/c delco gates ect. My bolts were toast. Victim of a dealer trip many years ago and I can only imagine the impact wrench force used. Tool is not needed but http://www.sears.com/craftsman-cable-operated-hose-clamp-pliers/p-00947390000P if you can't manage channel lock pliers and twisting a hose.

  7. I have been here too long. Been hanging around since I got it in 03ish. My yank converter may be getting a tad old 9 years 200,000 miles or so
  8. I have had a LSXRT for more miles than most. Just put it back on again after cam swap. My issues were TB relater and a regular 90mm vette TB fixed almost everything. They suck to install the first time yes. They are very sensitive to tuning and require some software a mail order canned tune is not gonna cut it.
  9. I didn't just torque down the rocker arms. I adjusted to TDC then set the other valves. I used harland sharp upgraded stockers. comp 7.4 push rods worked out fine. made this custom tool haha Placed inside slp underdrive and wacked the pulley on. currently waiting a couple things shoud be done in morning.
  10. Well a lot of progress has been made. Tearing it down took a break at that point 243 heads and cam in place
  11. 2600 not worth the $$$ I barely noticed a change. 3k all the way.
  12. I would get a 4" el cheapo intake on ebay or one of these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-9900/overview/make/chevrolet/model/silverado-1500 I used the spectre it grew with my mods. I changed the elbow and the 90mm TB works. I pulled the reducer and the 4" ls7 maf fits. I would just replace the muffler only. I went magnaflow straight thru design is ok. My two buddies with sss and tbss both have flowmaster and they sound amazing.
  13. If I were to start over id just get a maggie and be done with it all. That's the plan for my next ride.
  14. I went with 243's. They are so cheap if you shop around. I wouldn't bother with the old 317's. You can even sell the old ones for 200 on craigs. I got 243 off a junkyard sending them out for port and polish locally. The bump in compression is nice and they flow a touch better stock.

  16. You need the ring to smooth the airflow from 90 to 105 or it won't be tuneable and flutter.
  17. I do not agree when you buy a cam from comp. They provide a list of oil to break in with. I will post later tonight. I am using rotella for my cam swap.

Well I am going to do heads and a cam for my 03 ss I have so far cat back and shorty headers, yank 2600, FAST LSXRT, LS 7 M.A.F and 90 mm TB Purchased 243 heads. going to have them ported lightly and 5 angle valve job locally Thinking I found my cam XR275HR...222/224 .566/.568 112LSA Tooley spring kit 7.4 pushrods stock rockers??? not sure if an upgrade needed here. Maybe marine injectors if needed.

  21. i will post pics later. I have two for the one price. 1 used still on truck. 1 brand new insurance replacement. The side rails are not new but in good shape.
  22. I have a pace edwards roll top 100% every part brand new except side rails which are used still perfect shape. for sale 400$ pick up in Mass or close by RI/NH border ok.   23. Wow you opened up an old post. I wouldn't buy them again. They didn't stand up to corrosion very well. I have winter rims/tires. So my rims should have lasted. Slowly corroding from the back up to the front. Looks gross and won't come off.
  24. I found a junk yard deal. Want to make sure it's interchangable. 99 silverado 6.0 block. I know it has iron heads but for a 408 build. They are significantly cheaper than a lq9. Aside from the heads and the crank are going to be thrown out for a nice 408 assembly and aftermarket heads. Any reason I can't use this block?
