  1. I am just trying something a little different that's all, I am cutting the cats out and putting the LT in so last time I did this with my 5.3 it sounded pretty good but I want a more powerful tone. I have had multiple flowmasters and I finally jsut got tired of it. Magnaflow I also tried in the first place and it was way to quiet. I plan on letting everyone know abou the Bassani after I get everything hooked up and taken care of. it should be done hopefully 12th or so. need to get it dyno tuned also which maybe I can fit that in their.
  2. Next weekend both of my flowmaster 40's are coming out, they have 6 inch chrome tips dumped out of the muffler. I will be selling them as soon as the headers are in(hopefully by Friday and I can get to the Muffler shop(also hopefully Friday) and put on my Bassani mufflers. If interested jsut let me know, Flowmasters are loud, but their is louder. You might want to look at a flowmaster 1 chamber or also called a 10 series.
  3. I ordered mine from him on Tuesday I believe after I had asked him a few questions. He got them out and they will be here Monday. So out on the 31 here on the 5th. oh yeah their coated also, real nice guy.
  4. header gasket ebay I've heard alot about all the blowing out and leaks with gaskets on the headers. Would this be a better gasket then using the OE gaskets for the new LT's?
  5. You can do this but you need to keep your front 02Sensors in. this is how your cpu reads calibrations and makes adjustment and alot of other stuff I believe.
  6. WEll as much as the wife allows, not sure yet but she loved fast cars and especially fast trucks. Let's see I could see me spending probably about 6-8k for a rolling long block, I am not sure about the tranny and whatever else I will need. that's what I need help with, I work for myself and it's supose to be tax deductible, plus I put about 35k-40k miles on my truck a year as of last years mileage. I want something I wont have to rebuild again in 25-50k miles but plenty of power to run with my buddies mach 1 with boltons. High 12's.
  7. I also have the VHO and my first exhaust was a magnflow, a dual 2.5 in 3 inch out with about a 14-16inch peice of pipe that dumped down. it brought it back about 8 inches before the axle. this thing was way to quiet for me, I could barely ever hear it and on the highway I couldn't even tell it was their until I got way up inthe rpm's. I think you ned to downsize some pipe or muffler inlet outlet. I would do what I did and add a x pipe before the muffler, into the muffler I had which internall y's out to a single exit, hell you could carry it out the side and look stock if you want. My personal opinion is these bigger mufflers give off more resonance(not always) but are quieter outside, the problem is finding one that fits you. mine was way to quiet for me. here it is, flipped it around dual in single out. My magnaflow
  8. Well I bought some bassani street comp mufflers for the truck. I thought about somethng that would sound different and nobody but the mustangs or lightning really have them. So I have these to put in, magnaflow x pipe, and cut out the cats. Now does anyone have any suggestions on how to run this after the muffler? I could dump it right after the muffler, y it after the muffler into a single 3 inch exhaust and dumb it about 12-14 inches out, run it out the side infront of tire with dual tips. tha's all I can think of, don't like tips or anythng out the back or being able to see the system under the truck while your looking at it from 15 feet, unless it comes out the side. any Suggestions or opinions on the sound would be awesome, or what setup will sound the best. ALso where is the best place for the x pipe? I heard closest to the headers as possible, but most do it right infront of the muffler. Why? thanks guys
  9. Lyle where are you at in Oklahoma? I am from Edmond, but work in arkansas most of the time. Been kind of looking for shops and a tuner somewhat local but no luck so far. I would dyno my truck if someone operating it knew what they were doing.
  10. sorry computer farted, double post
  11. so does anybody have any opinions on what heads, CR, CAm, stall, anything like that would be helpful. thanks
  12. Yeah that's the way it's looking guys, I forgot about our drive train loosing so much hp through everythng. I think a 408 that is a little crazy could yield me a better gain for the money. Still not sure how long a 4L65 wil hold up behind that. thanks for the input guys, keep it coming. Also more realistic goal for me because I forgot that our powertrain robs us of a ton of power. 600 at the crank, 480RWHP, through hopefully a 4L65E.
  13. no not exactly, but I got to start somewhere and work from their. I will have to jsut talk to a few people who build engines, and see what they come up with. I was thinking about one of these packages from here. Sorry I don't know much about the sponsor stuff so if I can't post this please delete. Engines
  14. it will be slow, just thinking for the near future, I put alot of miles on my truck. I was thinking of the Darton Sleeves with the 6.0 block. you can take it up to 440 with the right stroke and bore.
  15. I am starting the process of looking into a new engine for the VHO. I really need to know a good streetable combo that puts out alot of power(doesn't everybody) . I have been checking on the big bore 6.0 stroker kits like the 418 and 427 upto the 440CI mark. I have always been told if you go with more cubes it adds power, which in fact will be easier to make and keep reliable. I am hoping for 550-650RWHP when I get done with a swap. Also would you go about putting in a FLT 4L65E or jsut go to a 4L80E swap? This will be a daily driver, and I don't tow much buit I do drive 400 miles every 2 weeks their and back. Also labor charges for the engine install and what will I need to do to get the truck ready for the swap. Like increase fuel flow,(I know a serious tune) also looking into heads and like the price onthe Dart's, I am jsut not experienced enough to come up with a good combo, but I know I want to stay NA,Cam also suggestions). Sorry so long got a ton of questions and need opinions and cold hard facts. All is appreciated, more streetable HP the better. thank guys
  16. Not mine just thought someone might be interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS2-6-0-aut...1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. Everything is updated and I increase the size to make sure people saw it under the description.
  18. Guys I am color blind so it's hard for me to see if it comes up hard to see or not. I will make it bigger, but I decided their is still to much wheel well open and I am going to go to 22's hopefully if I can sell these. their a dang good price for what they are and if you check their alot cheaper then any other person even on ebay. that's how I got in this perdicament any ways becasue I couldn't see they white wall with the stuff covering them I am not trying to be deceitful at all.
  19. I will make it bigger, I just took it off a site and didn't pay that close of attention to it. But I did change it to RED to stick out.
  20. yes they are, and I did disclose it at the bottom of the page.

  22. Guys that wont work, read post #32, I am working o getting me sent some 305/50 to replace these. we will see thanks for all the input and now evryone knows don't by the Nitto 420S in 295/50R20!
  23. you guys are killing me here. At a time like this to bust my balls. Well I am not sure what I am going to do, but it might consist of dying the whitewalls black with that stuff in my earlier post. we will see.
  24. exactly, that will really change what the tire is doing and the ride. their awesome tires and it jsut happens that only in 295/50 do they come with a white wall and that is the only way they come. so If you guys get them get the 305/50 for the 20's and so on everything else is ok as far as I know. the only reason I am considering trying ot cover the whitewall is because it's only 1/2inch tall and flush with the tire rubber, I have no idea why they did this. I'll check back i the morning.
