  1. Later...it won't lock under WOT now untill 115 mph which I won't hit...yet
  2. Me too! I'm going to scan it one of these days when I buy HP Tuners. It'll run with yours but it just doesn't idle very well. I'm not sure how it "runs" because with the idle so choppy, I didn't want to take it out and get stranded. Someday I'll figure it out and I'll let you know.
  3. Last weekend at California Dragway I recorded a new best ET and MPH...13.989 @ 94.35 mph. Only change was my tuning. My converter was locking up at 68 mph before and unloading the motor big time. A big thanks to 06VHO for the tuning help...I owe this new best to you Mike and I am very grateful.
  4. Decided to leave my truck alone because it's so consistent and that's all I really care about. I have a Comp 236/238 .601/.605 113 that I bought from j4nash (member here). It was used when I bought it from him for $295 shipped. I have never taken it out of the box. I am asking the same $295 shipped but I will entertain other reasonable offers as well.
  5. Looks great man but...A nice piece like that needs some new valve covers! Maybe like some bitchin' sheet metal ones or something. I hope it runs strong Chase, good luck!
  6. Wait for the scoop! Much easier to put the top half of the scoop on before you install the air box.
  7. I really dig those! Gives it that Hot Rod look! I almost went with those way back when but then changed my mind. Great choice!
  8. I'm still waiting for a filter too! They let me borrow a filter for the weekend. They had some major issues with their filter manufacturer that were against their control. They will have new filters very soon. Please be patient with them as this is not their fault at all.
  9. The old one was a Volant. I don't want to credit my new times completely to the Outlaw because I did take some weight out of the truck as well. Other than the weight, however, the only other change I made was the intake. I'll tell you all this much...Outlaw has superior customer service and the quality of their product is superior in my opinion. The box fits perfect, looks great, and performs outstanding. Again, all of this is just my opinion. In my "strip" post I was simply saying thanks to Outlaw because that was my only change and they happen to be helping me with my racing effort through sponsorship. With that being said, my previously mentioned opinion is not biased or "sugar-coated" because they are my sponsor. I keep it real here and always have...If Outlaw sucked, I would say so, sponsor or not. I can say that after going through 2 Volants and experience with K&N and Airraid, I would wholeheartedly recommend Outlaw over any other brand. Good luck with your decisions everyone!
  10. The intake looks pretty trick. Are sure it's gonna work? If so, I need to get me one of those!
  11. It was a never oil filter.
  12. I do remember! In the staging lanes right? John?
  13. I'll have to check the da when I get back to the motorhome bext weekend but it wasn't spectacular. I don't think I'm even gonna try for that other 2 seconds! The truck is way too consistent right now!
  14. The good news...I finally ran 13.99! 13.994 on the brakes and my weather computer after the run, based on my 1000' time, said I was on a 13.965 pass! The bad news...I lost in the 5th round of that race because I broke out on my 14.02 dial-in!!! Oh well, that's bracket racing! I'm just happy I finally did it! Special thanks to my new Outlaw Intake!
  15. This is a tremendous blow to the sport of drag racing and all of motorsports as a whole. While racing is risky, things like this are always horrible. I will keep the entire Medlen family in my thoughts and prayers evrytime a make a trip down the track.
  16. Anyone gonna at least come out and watch me??? There's a cool car show too!
  17. What's your 60' times in the Vega if that's you 0-60 mph time?

    New best!

Sunday at California Speedway in Fontana, CA I ran a new best of 14.056 at 92.49 mph. There was a slight tail wind but I was between 14.08 and 14.13 all weekend. Only changes were removing the rear bumper, passenger seat, and e-fan.
  19. 1/8 mile times never compute to an accurate 1/4 mile time because the vehicle makes more power and picks up more momentum in the last 660' of the track. Our trucks, generally, are not even into their maximum power band by the time you get to the 1/8 mile traps.
  20. I did that once to intentionally slow down and it worked! I ran about 5 tenths slower with it on so trust me, it will slow you down.
  21. Glad to hear you've been bitten by the bracket bug! You're right...it's very fun, addictive, and very expensive! Welcome to the bracket club...I thought I was the only one!
  22. Sorry to offend anyone, but your truck is THE best looking one I've seen here (IMO, of course). I just love how clean it looks...very, very well done.
