  1. YOU beat the SRT8 Jeep?? What mods do you have? Those things are pretty danged quick!
  2. 11.90s on a FAIRLY mild 350 can be done, but a high school kid making a mild 350 run 12s is a different story IMO.... Experience is usually what makes an ordinary car run unordinary times. Unless the kid has a race track type father or something, I have a feeling that Monte ain't gonna run too serious of a time... Only one way to find out though... ;)
  3. I like the SSRs, most of my Chevy buddies don't like them, to say the least. I think they are overlooked. Cool trucks IMO.
  4. Egads. We need GROWN UPS answering.... The new versions have more HP in the trucks, that's about all I know.
  5. "I've got 120 horsepower, you really don't want anything more than that on marble!" Hahaha!!!!!!!
  6. An early 1990's 5.0 Mustang can hit low 14s dead stock, many of my buddies drove them brand new as winter beaters. One guy ran a 14.24 with a 5.0 LX Mustang at our track, stock tires even. The early 1990's Mustangs never had a 4.6 engine as an option though, somebody was fooling around with emblems I guess...???
  7. We laughed our way through the first three. The Fast & the Furious movies are kinda like a train wreck... ;) We'll wait until they are on video or TV, but we will probably laugh our way through the fourth as well, double clutchin our seats!
  8. 2008s were all 6.1 automatic SRT8 cars. 2009 R/T Challengers have pulled better than 13.3 times at the track with the 5.7 MDS engine dead stock, and alot of SRT8 cars have been mid 13s, some even higher! Weird! My buddy went 12.93 at 107.75 mph dead stock in a Chrysler 300 SRT8 at Mission Raceways, which is faster than most of the Challenger times I have seen.
  9. Tony Herter's 2009 Dodge R/T with a 5.7 Hemi went 13.12 at over 108mph DEAD STOCK. Alot of guys have ran very low 13s in R/T 5.7 Hemi Challengers. Many are quicker than alot of posted SRT8 Challenger times. They are pretty impressive cars at the track from what I have seen. Did they let you take out a new Challenger by yourself and go pound on it? lol Let me know the dealership, I have posting buddies with itchy right feet! ;)
  10. Maybe he meant 383ci? If he's not real mechanical and the car doesn't sound like something is putting out power under the hood then I would call his bluff. LOL I know a stock or mildly modified 85 Monte SS isn't a quick car. I think they had those weirdo Quadrajet setups in 1985, tied into the electronics.....
  11. Well that sure SUCKS. It could have been anybody, any one of us. Too bad it's such an expensive enthusiast's car, but like it was said the only good thing is the guy came out OK. Moral of the story is "watch for dickwads while driving your prized posessions" I guess..? Those ACRs are impressive, the numbers one laid down around the 'Ring are astounding. I sure feel sorry for the guy.
  12. I got the tires on, believe it or not the "big" tires I switched to are only 235/60/15s. lol It's now lowered in the front and sits about where I want it. Them English guys, who was designing their stuff anyways! haha
  13. Thanks. The Coupe is a 426 based 484. It's next on my list, I just wish my list was getting checked off faster. ;)
  14. Snow anybody? We get a little more than 6 inches.... ;)
  15. The rear will get it next, new brakes, I'll go through the diff, clean up the springs etc.... Then the hood gets popped and I'll start realllly screwing around. LOL
  16. Front suspension, tires, brakes, etc etc is done, the front is down where I want it....
  17. LOL Reminds me of when my brother-in-law beat my 10 second 440 Coupe with his 50 dollar Toyota. Funny stuff!
  18. There are a few quick bolt on N/A Hemi trucks out there... Good kill... ya gotta like it when the other guy pounds it first and you pass him!
  19. Aren't the majority of Holden style GTOs low 13s stock?
  20. I'm still a guy who thinks "racing in the rain" isn't exactly a race. Aside from "the dumb factor" it doesn't prove much of anything anyways....? IMO anyways.
  21. I've seen many Lightnings run, and I've raced a few in different vehicles. I honestly think some people figure they aren't as quick as they are. They are quick trucks, even stock.
  22. The LOOKS of a Tundra scream "import" to me. I'm not a fan of Toyota Tundra looks, the trucks aren't terribly slow, but they aren't terribly quick either. Just not a real exciting package, for me at least.
  23. No NEW videos yet, I think he's hitting the track this weekend or next.... I could only DREAM my motorhome would run like his truck! LOL I would need a jet engine or two.....
  24. We had Porter Cable MagnaQuench drills when they came out near 20 years ago. They weren't "BAD" but they didn't have tremendous longevity either. I have no idea about their new stuff. Sadly it seems the more you pay, the better the cordless drill.
