  1. Just want to get a thread up see who is coming out for it. Depending on who or how many I might have some SS' folks over for a bbq Like I did a couple years ago. Last year I had to work the entire week so there was really no time to hang out with anyone.
  2. Sounds good. I am working on a typhoon right now for a customer and tomorrow gotta go work on a nbs truck over at my buddy's in old henderson but I am usually around.
  3. I am going to call my buddy in the morning for you that's a screaming deal. If I had the cash I would pick this up in a second.
  4. Silverado ranch somewhat close to eastern and silverado. I think I have seen you in hendertucky.
  5. Seen you around town really nice looking truck.
  6. There are dozens of reasons and explanations for running premium fuel. I have been in the altitude octane arguments with guys. It's funny. Truth be told. When you run a vehicle on a higher octane you will get alot more out of it than just performance. You will see a gain in mileage at the end of the day and you will also see a cleaner running vehicle. If you do a little research the octane rating is based under 100 on how resistant a fuel is to knock. 93 is moreso resistant to knock than 87 due to the fact it takes more pressure/more heat to initiate combustion. Where as 87 will ignite with less pressure and less heat. Causing pre ignition or detonation/knock. I personally run E85 but I am setup to run it and I have alot more compression than the trucks have stock. I can't say it to enough folks that 2 dollars or so per tankful you save is money you throw away in maintained and you loose in mileage. Personally I don't even think there should be a lower octane option. I think it should be E85 or 93-95 octane everywhere.
  7. 2.5" will take you where you want to go N/A without doing any further mods to the heads or bottom end or adding boost. I run bigger everything but I also have more CI and more compression than stock and I do alot of boosted setups. But for where your going I think the 2.5 will do you just fine.
  8. Sounds good I will keep an eye for your stuff
  9. Congrats Great numbers!
  10. I like Wody's idea that sounds like a blast
  11. Bump for an awesome deal. I wish I had the money right now that's what I have been after
  12. You don't really need anything special. It would be great to have an 05 and up flex fuel setup but if you have a properly sized pump and injectors to match then you are set to roll with proper tuning. I have my truck running on E85 right now as well as another member here in town/customer. He is running ported 5.3 heads milled with 6.0 valves a fairly decent cam, Belanger long tubes Corsa cat back and ls3 injectors. He made just about 80 more rwhp on a dyno over totally bone stock with that setup on E85. His mileage has actually gotten better and it's 2.29 a gallon. My truck I have run either way I need the e85 for compression because I am almost 12:1. If I was still boosted I would be running E85 also because of the gains and cooler fuel makes for a happy blower. Just remember if you do take the E85 swap you need to size your fuel system to run at 30% more than you are needed due to the fact that E85 burns roughly 30% faster than regular fuel. Hence your stock fuel injectors on a stock lq9 will run out of steam at about 4500 rpm if you chose to run e85. And yes when it comes to tuning the spark tables need to be massaged properly to get the most out of driveabilty as well as make the most power. Hope that helps
  13. I have a set of stocker 17" rims with drag radials out back M&H and some front runners that are the same height similar width Cal traks out back. I think the drag radials are a 275/50/17 They have gotten me some 1.7 60' foots on my old setup. Being I am 2wd that's not bad. I can't use them anymore with my new spindles they won't work with those rims so someday I gotta get on 18's and sell these guys
  14. I know here it's difficult to find any assistance in Vegas for Smog related issues. Most places just want to keep taking your money. However in your situation I would call the DMV and explain there has to be a way to work around it. I wouldn't try getting a signed off or a false smog cert due to you are just opening up a possibility to have a world of problems later with smog and being legal.
  15. Looking forward to seeing the numbers. I finally got access to an AWD dyno in IL also. Trying to set up a dyno day.
  16. Just to update that a bit. There are very few if any Chevy dealerships that are procharger "dealers" Infact if you contact procharger they can tell you of just a very few in the country that are. Truth be told to your comment. 99% of GM tech's only know the GM platform when you add a bolt on power adder to them they are going to go back to their GM knowledge. The place you will find real good tech's and people who know about a procharger or any aftermarket platform is from someone who actually focuses on that product. As far as Warranty goes. NO gm dealers cover aftermarket modifications though the GM warranty. I don't care what any sales person tells you. There is fine print in the contract. There is a Dealer in Las Vegas now that sells procharger that is claiming he covers them. GM does not. The Dealer assumes 100% liability on the item. That means if you break it and you have it in writing the dealer you had install it should fix it. If you break down 3 states from home the dealer that you tow it to may tell you that your crazy. If you plan on going to a dealer to get an install then be certain you get your warranty in writing 100% guarantee. If you have any questions regarding that you can feel free to ask and or Email GM they will reply back with a response to you.
  17. The Procharger setup is a great setup to run on these trucks when tuned properly they make huge power. Anyone who comes off saying that our engines won't take a beating really knows very little about them. I know there are some guys out there that have pushed alot of boost though stock motors and not only lived.. but are still around to tell about it. A D1sc when tuned in running 8lbs on an SS truck is an animal. Procharger sells itself fairly well with the air to air setup and the self contained oiling system. They had it first.. finally others have caught on. I have run and sold prochargers since around 1998 and never had an issue with the product or the engines I have built with them. I have run them on stock engines up to 14 psi and with the proper Tuning and Fueling been able to make really great power. Looking forward to seeing another guy on the Procharger train
  18. I have killed 3 stocker flywheels one TCI billet one ripped the bolts right out of that one Zippy was amused by the carnage. The stockers I tore up just like that one. My trans is in with velcro now it just makes it easier and I saved the weight of the bellhousing bolts
  19. I might come down if zippy goes he is gonna have to follow me.. which might make him drive faster
  20. I will go down the list. Of my stuff... hah VHO hope at some point to see an 11 something pass. If I ever take it to the track. 01 blazer x finish the procharger setup hopefully break 450 rwhp with the 6 banger 02 blazer x finish the ls6 and spray the snot out of it till somethin breaks 98 x cab put some sort of engine back in it 64 Nova SS look at it sit in the garage collecting dust. Mind you These require time and money. I have little of both but more of the first lately haha. I need to sell off some kids.
  21. Looking good out there Quik I started out in Local 73 Chicago actually when I saw you way back at Holty's I was still in 73 I am in 88 now here in Vegas. Work is slow as hell for everyone. Get yourself in some balancing classes as well. It will really open up more options for you besides welding or hanging duct. I have been a certified balancer and welder since the beginning of my 4th year of apprenticeship. It's well worth it. Can't wait to see how the truck turns out
